Is there any ways to root GS5 G900H without tripping knox 0x0 ?
Tried towel root by geohot
● flashing early build of kernal
● flashing early build of KK stock rom
none of these helped.
and i also would like to request humbly to the devs including geohot to work on it.

If you want to flash custom recovery`s or custom roms KNOX will be tripped unfortunately
So, to sum up, if you want to root without tripping KNOX, you need to stay stock and not even install custom recovery. if you plan to install custom recovery, no need to go though the effort of not tripping KNOX and just use CF-Auto root.
Towel root should root pre June 6th builds of S5 4.4.2 firmware, without incrementing Knox.
Installing any custom kernel or recovery or using CF autoroot will increment the Knox counter. Less commonly, some failed firmware writes, corrupted partitions, soft bricks or kernel crashes may also increment the counter.

I think it won't trip knox, since it was successful on S5 and some older device.
But if that towelroot can used to root this note 4.
I heard towelroot isn't updated anymore and can't root newer device.
But you always can try and report here..
Thabks a lot for the answer
Towelroot was patch about a week after it was out so it no longer works if you really care about knox wait for someone to do a Rom rooting it without tripping knox otherwise Chainfires root will trip knox

[Q] Root without tripping KNOX?

I remember reading somewhere that root can be achieved [with KNOX 0x0] on the Note4 but only until restart when you had to root it again? Is this possible?
And whats the progress, any news, anyone working on permanent root on the Note 4 with out tripping Knox?
I've read about kingsroot, have someone tested it?
It does not work for lollipop, while it seems to work for kitkat, so you should downgrade before testing this app.
I don't know if it can be considered a safe practice, since the app, to perform the exploit, requires your data to be sent to a Chinese server and you will not get superuser, but the corresponding Chinese app. Anyway, some say they have eventually been able to remove such app and replace it with superuser. It is not something I tried by myself, so please do not take it for granted but it should be possible to flash lollipop by using mobile odin, while still keeping knox 0x0 and root.

Is there likely to be Root with Knox 0x0 on 5.1.1?

My lovely new Note 4 is still stock and not having root is unbearable (or more to the point Xposed Framework). Does anyone know if anyone is actively trying to find a non-knox tripping root for 5.1.1?
I rooted my Note 3, just before Towelroot came out a few years back
This would be a dream really. I need root without tripping knox SO BAD, i really need it with the 5.1.1 update.

hi,
Firstly, I am on Android v 5.1.1, rooted with custom recovery. To get root at the moment you have to flash permissive kernel. Yes logic says that will trip Knox... correct, (in my case Knox was trip in October 2014 when phone was launched.)
Secondly,
With Note5 already launched, i doubt if any effort will be made, re Note4 root (not tripping Knox)
Just the way i see it at moment
good luck
Currently it is not available and it won't be, trust me.
There is no real focus and interest on development of the Note 4.

I read about root, but can't find infos about knox.
Just use cf auto root and odex, that's it ?
KNOX is Samsungs way of voiding your warranty, when their hardware is at fault, but you have flashed something custom
0x0 = valid
0x1 = void
Soon as you flash anything custom, 0x1 - and it's irreversible
If you don't care, root using CF Auto Root and ODIN
Or TWRP 2.8.7.0 & ODIN, then SuperSU zip from TWRP recovery
Like I say, everything is posted thousands of times over, if you'd checked the thread below this one, you'd have known what KNOX was

So there is no way to root without loosing knox/warranty?
If you have a pre June 2014 KitKat ROM running, you can root using Towelroot app, then upgrade to Lollipop using Flashfire to keep root / not trip KNOX
That's the only other method

So i must do this to be sure i don't trip knox: downgrade to kitkat (and i will not lose knox) and then root and then update to lolipop and my warranty is still there (knox 0x0) ?

Flashing a stock Samsung ROM will not trip KNOX, so you're safe to flash any stock ROM without worrying about KNOX, KNOX is only tripped by flashing custom stuff not signed by Samsung
But to upgrade to Lollipop without losing root or tripping KNOX, you have to use Flashfire after running Towelroot on KK, otherwise you'll lose root, and then have no other options than flashing back to KK or tripping KNOX by using CF Auto Root
