Hi there!
I've been looking around but didn't find any:
I have an LG G2 and I'd like it to be more privacy-aware / invisible.
I know many apps gather a lot of data. That's why I don't install those...
I barely play games on my phone, don't install apps that require permissions etc..
But I'm pretty sure Google and LG slipped a ton of analytics, junk and spy-crap into the stock ROM.
Is it reasonable to look for a Privacy ROM? If so, I'd have to put my trust into some 'random'-developer... Or should I just compose my own from scratch? (If so: where can I find the most mint/unbloated packet to start with?)
(Or should I just get me a legendary Nokia 3310?)
Thanks in advance!
Well you can make one yourself and you should start with stock just remove bloat but there are other options I use an xposed module called app settings and it allows you to decide what an app has access to (keeping in mind that you can't disable something that an app needs to work)
Sent from my LG-D800 running stock kk, rooted with philz using XDA app
and get the xposed module XPrivacy and get the root app AFWall+ (Firewall)
Once I root my note 4 n910f what are the first things I should install and do to make my phone even better? Your guys input is greatly admired

Root Explorer (paid playstore version) (free version is for un-rooted phones)
Titanium Backup - Root (paid playstore version is 10 times faster + more features)
There are other similar free apps which can do the same things but no where near as good and user friendly.
Good luck!

Hey guys!
I'm really NOT enjoying/using some of the apps that Samsung has preinstalled on the Edge+ (G928F). Is there a debloat script or app available for our devices?
As a last resort, can someone post a list of uninstallable apps and services? (Found one for the s6, but I fear that some stuff is different)
PS- Disabling apps is not a good option for a 32gb Edge+. I would like to free up some space.
Thanks in advance!
have a look here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/s6-edge-plus/general/debloating-t3216103
without root there's no way to delete apps though
Thanks!
Thanks a lot!
As I expected, there are many apps and services to disable/uninstall and an automatic flashable script or app would have been great (maybe with aroma, so we can choose what goes and what and descriptions to all the files). A man can dream )
Is there a way to uninstall these apps? I'm rooted and have a custom kernel.
Hello all!
I have a Galaxy Note 4 910C(exynos), rooted and using DN5, and I always see people talking about bloatware that comes pre installed and are useless.
I'm wondering what are acutally those and how do I remove them?
Thx in advance!
since you'r rooted, use titanium backup. You can try the app called Greenify or simply disable those apps your app manager.

For a rooted device, KNOX related apps are bloatwares since rooted KNOX disabled & can't be used on a rooted device.
The other bloatware is user preference.
Which app that you don't use is a bloatware

That's exactly what I mean, any apps that you don't need.
You can even remove phone (if you never use your Note 4 for a phone call ) & Touchwiz.
Rule of thumb, if you never heard of it & it's not inside the App Drawer, don't delete it
NOTE: TouchWiz is not in the app drawer
I do it in a simpler way. First I clear the data from settings and then using root explorer I go to system/app folder and I directly delete preinstalled apps that I never use for example- samsung push service, mobile print, chat on, hangouts, google books, yahoo weather, etc. Theres another folder called system/priv-app
WARNING: Don't delete apps you have absolutely no idea about. It can cause your phone's OS to malfunction.

This. I don't have a note 4 (yet). but I learned it the hard way on my nexus 4. thank god for TWRP and its file manager.
Usually what i do is backup the app before i uninstall it to see if i notice any system instability caused by uninstalling it.

I too don't have a note 4 right now. But will be buying soon this christmas. I learnt most of these things by customizing my galaxy grand 2.
I am working on debloating apps. Basically I am making a list for my self which apps are safe to disable. Have you guys made any list?

My last phone was a Titan or Moto G2 XT1068. In that, I rooted the stock ROM and tried uninstalling gapps but it went into bootloop. Only if I installed a third party launcher, uninstall gapps except Google, and then after a successful reboot I uninstall Google, it used to work. But mostly, the home screen never showed after uninstalling Google.
My question to you guys is
How can you get rid of gapps from Athene running latest stock rom? I tried System App Remover, but it kept failing. I rooted my phone with phh's superuser.
Pls help
Have you tried this debloater script in the Mods section? https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/themes/stock-rom-debloater-t3729594
As always, back up your device before using.

AFAIK stock ROM comes with Google Now Launcher, and removing Google app with cause force close to Now Launcher, (may be because of Google widget or side screen??)
You can remove google app from /system/priv-app or /system/apps (don't know exact place and folder name.)
Also remove google now launcher and install other launcher or use flashable launcher installer zip (like trebuchet or others) available on other XDA forums..
After it, wipe delvik and cache from TWRP, also take backup before proceeding to remove anything..

Hit uninstall for this app in titanium backup. I recommend to freeze it for the first time if you are not sure about the impact

You cannot use Google keyword search and other things that you might want to use from Google. So easy way: freeze it, test everything, then decide if it should be deleted or not.

Ok thanks a lot.
I got 1 more question. If I remove all the Google apps from my phone, will it still function properly?

Depends what you mean with function properly... For example: Google play store is also a Google app. You need a third party app store like F-Droid or install every app separate per apk file.
Living without Google is possible, but you should decide. There's no yes or no in terms of recommendations. Only minor apps are outside the Google play store available.

Thanks a lot. I successfully uninstalled unwanted gapps.
One more question. How to make a normal app into a system app?

Also that's possible for example with titanium backup. But there are other ways too, but not so easy like with an app.

Is the Convert User app to System app part of Titanium Backup Pro, or is it in the free version too? I'm not sure how up to date this page is, which suggests this feature is only in the premium paid version: https://www.titaniumtrack.com/titanium-backup.html
Still, it's such a useful tool it's worth buying the premium version for

It's only in the premium version this app is the best you can have if you are a flashaholic and worth the money. I have it since 2010 and it's my #1 app :good:
Your Device can run fine without google Search & Google now launcher.
I've made a zip file for that, try it out. But remember to install and make some other launcher as default before flashing this zip.

So what happened is this. I installed the mod apk and also tried the normal one of titanium backup. All of them keep stopping and never open up. Why is this happening?
