Internet keeps turning itself on

Hey there,
Since a few days I've had this problem that my xperia connects itself to the 3g/hsdpa network for no reason.
At first I thought who cares but then I thought about my battery.. in other words, does having your xperia phone being connected to a 3g/hsdpa network lower your battery time?
And if it does, is there anyway I can make it so it doesn't connect by itself but only when I start up opera or any other application that might use the connection?

3G + internet

hi guys, been having this problem for a while now, tried different radios-roms- tried to search on the net with no luck ... the thing is - if i connect internet via 3g, it disconnects from the network after a while (let say 1h -20mins , random) it shows so there is no networks available, i do have to switch to the flight mode, then to the phone mode and back to flight mode after that the phone starts searching for the network, if i keep 3g off i never get disconnected from the network
any ideas? anyone else is experiencing the same problem ?

X10 doesn't connect to the internet automatically

Hello Everyone,
I have the following problem with my Xperia 10. Whenever I am in location where the 3G signal is not strong enough my phone changes to GPRS network (Normal). When I'm in location where 3G signal is strong my phone would take a while to change to the UMTS (3G) network. When it does, the phone does not automatically connects to the internet. When I start my browser it says that I don't have a internet connection.
I contacted Sony Ericsson helpdesk and they said it is well known bug in the android phones and the only way to connect back to the internet is by shutting off all wireless connections and putting back on. I find this to be "neat" work around but I find it annoying that I have to do this all the time. I'm not convinced that this is bug because I have some friends who have the HTC hero and desire and they have never heard about this before.
Can somebody tell me if this is actually a bug in the Android phones or is it just the X10?

Can't connect to certain WiFi networks

Hello,
950XL, dual SIM, unbranded. There are certain networks that I simply cannot connect to. It mostly occurs at hotels abroad. I suspect it is some sort of security issue, but I really need to get around it. Others beside me on other devices have no issues. My lap top will connect to these networks. My Lumia says "your phone can't connect to this network". Help???? Thanks, Dave
Maybe it's the known Wifi/BT bug. Just try a soft reset and it should connect without issues (to this specific Wifi network)...
Airplane mode fixes it for me...
This happened to me quite a bit, and I was restarting occasionally, in particular 5G networks would just "disappear"
Restart works, sometimes, but "airplane mode" works for me 100%, and has continued to work, across multiple builds (.218, while less stable in some other respects, seems to have more stable WiFi discovery/connectivity).

3G/4G Connection unstable: mobile data active but internet goes down randomly

Hello guys,
I've had my OP5 for 2 weeks now, quite happy with it so far but I have a major issue with my 3G/4G connection which is very unstable.
When I am connected to Wifi network, everything is fast & smooth but as soon as I switch to 4G/3G, the data is very unstable: sometimes, the internet connection goes down for few seconds or minutes.
I can see the connection is active (3G/4G icon, no exclamation mark), the signal is good (more than 70% in most cases) but the data meter in my status bar shows abnormal transfer rates (below 2Kb/s). After several seconds/minutes of patience, the connection goes back to normal with very good (normal) transfer rates. It can work very well for several minutes (downloaded some HD movies within few minutes without interruption), then goes down randomly.
I already checked the SIM cards, network & APN configuration and everything is correct. I tried on a couple of SIM cards, on both SIM slots and the problem remains the same, whatever SIM card or slot I am using. The SIM card were tested in my "former" smartphone and work perfectly and in areas where the network and signal are stable and do not lose connectivity with my former smartphones, it only happens on the OP5.
I tested on several apps that require internet and the result is always the same: either the app says there is no internet connection, or it takes forever to load... This is not specific to an application.
My phone is rooted with Magisk 13.3, with the original OOS 4.5.8 ROM. I am using Netguard and AppsOps to control the apps accessing internet but I don't think this is the source of the problem because the Wifi works well and apps still access internet through 4G when the connection is up.
Any idea?
Thanks for your help
