I think I got a system update...

I was in the middle of tweeting, when a pop up notification ask me to take part in a survey, so i said yes. The next message said a system update may be available and they wanted me to plug my phone to a PC. I'm about to do it but wanted to know if anybody else got this message aswell?

That's not an update, it's just sending information to Microsoft.

a couple of other HD2 owners reported updates too. Goto your settings after the update and let us know the software versions listed, to see what it updates. Thanks

Unless your handset has a completely different SOFTWARE VERSION and/or ROM VERSION afterwards... you didn't receive any sort of "update".
T-Mobile USA would publicly address a system update for the HTC HD2.
Trust me, I work for them... I would definitely know, considering my manager is the VP of Human Resources and Communications.
I bet you're merely submitting information to Microsoft, nothing more.

Well, our store in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area had 3 as of last night, but of course we sold all of 'em before we could get the FedEx guy outta' the store.
Our store also carries the most volume and moves the most in the state... so we typically come across more of the HTC HD2 handsets, but sell 'em the quickest.
All I can suggest is... keep trying. Persistence will eventually pay off.

I heard Wal-mart might have tents on sale.

damn I got that notification nbut I was watching transformers and when I clicked ok every thing went away I would defintently havetaken a screen shot to compare even thoughI did write downbbbmy software specs haha

Will, I never got to update my phone or do what it was asking me because my phone died moments later (stupid battery only works for like 2 hours a day) but I did manage to get a pic of my screen. My fiancee snap it for me.

Now I cant get it back, I've tried everything, its GONE. I went to a local Tmo store and show the lady, she told me "if thats an update, it'll be there, just go back to settings, and than updates" and I did, it was there still but that was before my phone died and I could update.

this has happen to me in several diferent devices.no updates were available to any of them .

I just got a call from a guy named Josh at HTC Quality Care Department. He called me back regarding there customer satification survey I did on there site a few days ago, I had left a comment letting them know the many of issues I was going through. He notice I had a couple of open tickets with HTC CSR Lindsay, so she passed me up to the Senior HTC Quality Care Dept. Josh said I will be getting a call on Monday regarding these issues because HTC is trying to figure out why the phone is having troubles and nobody has seem to help them out... except me he says. I laugh and said sure, Im willing to do whatever it takes to help you guys . He thank me and said look for a call from a senior advisor on Monday.

your gonna get a email or a call 3 weeks after. when i damage my touch pro 2 door i called them trying to buy a new one since the device was brand new on the market they said they will call me when they have the door for sale actually ebay beat them by 1.5 months

I just got one ofthese surveys or updates.....idk. I already had my HD2 plugged in a PC charging.

3G reception on Nexus S 4G

Is the 3G reception slow like the 4G that I have heard about? I'm getting the Nexus S 4g Thursday do I would like to know.

I was actually gonna start a thread when I saw yours. This is one of 5 or 6 speedtests I just ran a few blocks from my house. Notice I have full bars. This was actually one of the better ones. Ive learned with my NS4G that you cant judge your service by the status bar.

The bottom two are on 1 bar of 4G...

Thats about where Im at on 4g also, but those 3g speeds are awful. and on my Evo in my area I have pulled 10 mbps on 4g. Im really torn as to what to do with my NS4G right now.

I work retentions... so technically... I'm everything.

Top 3 were from the same time as the other screen, the rrest are 4g or wifi. Shroomz, you work for sprint, Im curious. Do you agree there is an issue with the NS4G?

It is a known issue, yes.

They really should just allow us to swap to a 3D to something, cause the speeds I get are about as atrocious as mikey's

Agreed (not the 3D part... you will never get swapped up to a flagship phone) but then this is also where the "you had 30 days" comes into place. Not trying to be a bad guy, I work for retentions and I get thousands of "this phone sucks" 31 days or 45 days or 60 days after it was purchased. Just like you, we have rules we have to follow at the work place and policies in place so, no, it's not that we don't want to help, but you as the customer must also help yourself. A corporation like Sprint, TMo, AT&T and Verizon can not hold all of their customers hands. If you had issues, return the device, replace it, get another and let the company know that the phone is not working that way, by not purchasing that device - getting a device and "hoping" for a fix is not a good strategy and you're only setting yourself up for failure.

ok so under under status theres MIN and it should be a 10 digit phone number with your same area code.
now if you enter *#*#msl number#*#* and go to edit where you see the MSID, what should the number there be? the same as the MIN? and should it be editable?

Your MSID is random and it doesn't necessarily have to be the same area code as your phone number.

so if i see it in view mode and it does match the MIN always then im good? when i view it in edit mode its either 0000000000 or it says unknown, whats with that? advanced tech support said i should be able to edit it to that previous number but its not editable, is it supposed to be? i dont really wanna take it in for some guy to do everything ive already done just so he can master reset it after ive done that 5 times today.

Got me there... that's past my level of tech support. As far as I understand, it shouldn't be editable.

Well the reason I mentioned the 3D is because it is the same price as the NS4G is/was on upgrade ($199). I figure they are basically just crediting what you paid, and most people would probably go to the 3D is they were gonna swap phones. If I paid $199 and the phone has a pretty glaring defect, I would want the amount I paid as a credit... that's all I meant.

Yeah I understand but unfortunately prices don't mean much honestly.

If there isn't an update to address this soon, as much as I love it, ill go back to the Evo til the photon comes.

That's right, the preorder will just accompany the invite system. Means, if you get an invite, you can "jump the queue" of preorders and get your One directly.

It will be a ddos on request...
That site will go down, taking in hardly any pre-orders.
Enough with the hyping, start selling the device already.

The don't have the cash flow or capital of some other companies. If they produce too many phones and they don't sell, then they are gone. The way they do it at the moment means their inventory comes straight off the production line and out the door, it's a much safer bet for a new business. What concerns me though is how they intend to grow the business on such thin margins.

I'm pretty sure this is the International (CyanogenMod) version. The chinese version comes with ColorOS.

It may be chineese version but CM11S installed. International version is available only on the official OnePlus site.

I can't wait to witness the aftermath of the "1 hour preorder" disaster. This forum is going to be FLOODDED with people who weren't able to get their order completed due to the OnePlus site being overwhelmed and crashing. There will also be others *****ing because their payment couldn't be processed due to lack of funds (and somehow blame OnePlus for this...).

Internet tears will flow stronger than the Amazon river in the days after the OPO pre-order. The stories will be so sad it'll be funny! I guarantee you that they have a fixed number available for immediate order and as soon as they sell those within the first 5 minutes the system will just claim that the servers are overloaded and to keep trying.

So, I should probably wait until the 27 to sell my extra OPO in order to get the best price if all this is going to do is cause chaos

Do you guys think I should skip the preorder the 27:th and wait for an invite instead?
My concern is that I might wind up in the bottom of the pile of all the orders that'll be placed and I heard that invites will have a higher priority.

Get set up for the pre-order online as its worth a shot and try your best to get an invite as you'll still be able to use it.

Due to the technical difficulties with the first pre-order session, OnePlus is giving their customers another crack at it:

**What is our device**
Our device in the US is the: ZE551ML as indicated on the ASUS website.
If you are attending the event tomorrow, please be sure to ask many questions.
It seems like clemsyn contacted ASUS support and ASUS support said our bootloader is LOCKED!
One question that we have to ask is when will we be expecting a bootloader unlock tool? As you know, we can't do much with a locked bootloader. It won't be possible to flash custom ROMS without an unlocked bootloader, so please be sure to ask that! I'll be attending the event, but the more people that ask the more ASUS knows that we want to support this device on this forum.
What is there to do once we receive the unlocked bootloader?
1) Obtain Pre-Root (Already achieved and can be located here)
2) Compile CWM/TWRP Recovery (Not sure, I've never tinkered with recoveries)
** The Lenovo K900 uses an Intel processor and Recovery has been compiled on their forum on XDA**
Maybe we can use their GITHUB as an example: https://github.com/lenovo-k900 & https://github.com/xxx-man?tab=repositories
3) ROMS
Once we receive the unlocked bootloader and somebody compiles the custom recovery needed, it should be smooth from there!
I've developed lightly versions of stock ROMs in the past which is great for performance and battery life and have ported themes over from one device to another device.
I used to be an recognized contributor when I used to develop all the time for devices that I've had, I've been invited to the event tomorrow personally by ASUS and look forward to seeing the device and getting it in my hands!

NA got the 64GB 4GB Z00A which is the ZE551ML model.
Oh yeah and... bootloader is locked but in the near future they will be looking to unlock it..

I spoke to one of the Asus guys at the event. The bootloader is currently locked but he told me they were working with Intel to get a bootloader unlock. Apparently it's in Intel's court

It'll probably be x weeks-x months to see if we receive a tool which sucks, I wanted to develop some cool things

I know.. it's such a nice device. Much nicer than I imagined. I asked for a red one and they gave me one hehe
I know Dees Troy has one coming to him but until we get the bootloader unlocked we are down the creek without a paddle (I know the expression is up the creek without a paddle but always thought this was wrong..if you're up the creek water flows down so it would be easy..if you were down the creek trying to go upstream without a paddle then I think that's worse so I say down instead of up)
The ASUS guy did say they know it's important to get it unlocked. He told me to email him to check on the status. He actually came up to me to talk to me because I was wearing my xda shirt

It's pretty awesome, oh yeah and the active sim is unlimited everything until the 28th I'm pretty sure which is 10 days

This phone is incredibly fast.. I'm shocked how fluid everything is. Scrolling in Chrome or even through Tapatalk is buttery smooth. Usually one of the first things I do on a phone is go into developer options and set animations to .5, I don't feel I need to do that on that device. It just flies

Does anyone have the i95 smartwatch?

Hi ive been looking on the gearbest website and looking at the i95 smartwatch it looks like a nice low priced android watch I cant find any English reviews fort this watch does anyone have this watch and can do a review or tell me if its any good also what's the likelihood of me having to pay import duty when buying from them when shipping to uk?

The watch looks really beautiful and the specs are ok, but it has no slots for SIM or TF card as it seems. You can not use this one as stand-alone phone and access mobile data.
I have also bought a smartwatch from gearbest last week but I'm still waiting for it. In the shipping message they said it is shipped from the netherlands. In this case there would be no import duty/taxes because it is in the EU. But I don't know exactly yet, I'll have to wait until it arrives.

i95 smartwatch
I've just taken the plunge and ordered one of these too. Can't find any reviews whatsovever online, so will post a full review of this watch once I receive it. Looking at the specs, its very similar to the Sony Smartwatch 3, but obviously at a fraction of the cost. Also, I've ordered from Gearbest on a few occasions and can say the service has always been good. Will keep you posted.

Gearbest does NOT have it in stock. Maybe in 10 days or so (this is what their customer care says)! And to be exact, no one has it yet!
Fact is that neither the manufacturer knows when they will be able to deliver the product anywhere (just checked with them!)
So @suunnittelija stop selling lies! I hope Gearbest is paying you well.

Interesting info. thanks setmov. At least I know now not to expect the watch for at least a couple of weeks. Will do write up and possibly a video review once received.

Learn to read and stop calling me liar @setmov :silly:
I didn't say that Gearbest has it it stock, I said I asked from several places -> from aliexpress suppliers. I said also that I placed an order in gearbest because it was the cheapest place to get it -> aliexpress suppliers have price tag for $125.
I have received confirmation from gearbest that they do not have it in stock at the moment, so from that part you are right @setmov.

I read quite well, and if this is the story, then the people on aliexpress lied to you, and you (unintentionally) lied all of us, since the manufacturer hasn't shipped any watch so far. So if this is the case, then please accept my sincere apologies!

Back to the original topic. I have LG G watch and been tired of waiting Huawei Watch and Moto 360 2nd gen. I'm also not so convinced about Android Wear, specially because there's need to install all apps into the phone. Interesting to see how i95 works and what it can do out of the box.

One of the main reasons I want this is because of the metal strap I would get a k8 or s8 but straps are rubber

(Black with black leather... ) the silver with metal strap ship within 24 hours...as they show on their site.
Hope the black will ship soon as well...

I bought one on gearbest few days ago. Just got the shipped out confirmation. I'll let you guys know about the watch when i receive it. Hopefully i don't get the sorry this item is out of stock email mysteriously.....Fingers crossed.

I already got couple of days ago from focalprice.
mine is Extreme edition which is has metal band.
current version x3-2015810_0959 is not fully function.
some internal apps not installed "compass","bluetooth networksharing"
browser doesn't work coz. couldn't enable bluetooth tethering.
(also browser and games apps in Chinese)
no USB storage function, always recognize as a adb even not enable USB debugging in developer option
so internal video player and photo viewer is no way to use.
language is automatically set from smartphone.
Heart rate monitor is works fine I compare with my pulse oximeter
USB adapter is clip type but material of clip (plastic) is seems very weak quite easily is broke.
Firmware of this smartwatch is looks still under development so need to wait newer version of firmware...
