Are custom ROMS better than the stock one on the moto g?
Is the memory leak still present in the 5.1.1 based ones?

People have said that custom ROMs are slightly better than the Stock one given the inherent bugs in stock 5.0.2.
For me personally, I like to keep everything stock.
I am using CM12.1 By Luk
Kernel: Optimus Kernel R2
Along with that I am using the multitasking script by @DiamondBond
Phone runs smooth... Better than stock. I think that ROMS need time to settle and once they are they work buttery smooth.
If you want such experience in stock, flash stellar kernel. And use the script if u want. I play asphalt on medium graphics with no problem with these customizations . High graphics do work but the game crashes in tokyo and china maps

How is battery life on Titan Prime ?
Does dual SIM work without any bugs ?
CM12.1 + Gapps Minimal + SuperSU
Nicely setup so i can download OTA's and flash without re-configuring anything and no extra zips to flash.
CM 12.1 with its own kernel
CM 12.1, its own kernel, Delta GApps that include addon.d scripts so no need to reflash GApps.
I also "cooked" 3 of my own flash scripts that place addon.d scripts and they survive OTA updates without the need to reflash 'em.
These are:
* Latest Motorola Camera
* Latest Motorola Gallery
* Script that adds 2 lines in build.prop that enable Miracast and force launcher into memory.
cm12.11 +optimus kernel R2 running awesome. I also flash 7 extra zips and reboot once more after every nightly update. (yes, 7 extra zips )

Whats the different about the multitask script? it works?
CM 12.1 a thousand times faster than Android L 5.0.2 from Motorola and no battery drain issues.
Loving it since I installed

I don't recommend using it on stock ROM as it makes it lag after a lot of use. But, on CM12.1, **** it makes the phone multitask. I also recommend using optimus kernel .

I'm on TP with stellar too and the battery life is, well... Stellar
Especially when you follow my guide 'how to get the best battery life possible on your moto g'
IMO TP is the most stable ROM out there at the moment, and even though it is still on 5.0.2 there are still elements of 5.1.1 cooked in. Shawn will be updating to 5.1.1 soon though afaik

I really didn't like lollipop, its clearly not battery efficient for me. Which kitkat rom you guys can suggest to me? currently using purity rom with hellscore kernel with batmax. I am not in position of charging my phone 3 times a day thats why i need to give it a try. There was really long lasting roms while lollipop didn't exist but can't remember their names. I dont play games just mobile data on sometimes and mostly i am using wifi.

Still on omnirom after many custom rom of lollipop and kit Kat. The problem that Omni and slim have offered me is that I still cannot change my phone with something better cause I really like them too much and l
Before buying for example LG g2 I have checked for those pure and simple and customizable roms [emoji4]
Purity kitkat + HellsCore for me, tried with F2FS but didn't notice that much gain
Noob question, do i need to flash stock 4.4.4 img to flash custom kitkat rom since i am on custom 5.1.1?

instead of moving to kitkat. i gave franco kernel a try. its doing well for now.
My favorite KitKat ROM is LiquidSmooth. It has a lot of good features and optimizations, fastest KitKat ROM IMO.

In my opinion AOSP ROMs are better than CM based. I have tried almost every ROM for Moto X Style / Pure
There are only 2 which I liked most.
1) BrokenOS (Substratum Theme engine)
2) Dirty Unicorns (CM theme engine )
Happy Flashing
Another vote for du. Best ROM I've tried. I'm more of a cmte kind of guy though. Didn't really like substratum.

Pure Nexus is also good but if you going for substratum based ROM I will recomend you BrokenOS.
Battery life on BrokenOS is good as compared to Pure Nexus

I find it to be the most stable and best battery life compared to 6.0.1 ROMS. I don't have to go through battery tweeking or screen dpi changes/dimming to keep my phone running for the day.
Can please someone suggest me a good and stable nougat ROM for nexus 4? I'm on latest slim ROM and I like it but I want to try the new android version but I have no time to test all the nougat ROMS. Please help me finding a nougat ROM with good battery life. Thank you
Nitrogen OS 11-25 build and hell spawn kernel r3 and an audio mod this combo doesn't get best battery life out there but it is very stable and has some good customization features
Also a good app for nougat is wallpaper app by Google
all of my apps I use work on 7.1 so it's worth it to upgrade in my opinion

Thank you but good battery life has a high priority for me... Is it better marshmallow or should I give a chance to nougat?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
I used force doze app and was on latest cm13 snapshot build as of a week ago and used xposed 87 and amplify and l speed and kernel auditor I feel mm is better way to go battery life wise oh yeah and had quanta kernel v20 installed
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
I personally like SAOSP with Quanta, I'm consistently getting 5 hours SOT at around 5%, but that's with a fresh battery.
Did you look at the customisation section in setting s I don't remember if you can edit nav bar from there or not

for the battery life i think fake nexus rom is the best you ban find

Did you flash the test v19 version? You can find that on the WIP AOSP 7.0 thread by zaclimon. What you see on the Quanta thread doesn't support Nougat yet.

you can download apps from playstore and apply theme in substratum theme engine.I personally use

2)NAVBARS by Faiyaz https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=n.n.Navbars&hl=en

I use substratum and N Navbar by Varefaz. No animations but it works well for me. Be warned though that substratum is technically unsupported on Nougat right now.
I recommend hellspawn for a nougat kernel and nitrogen OS for nougat Rom for nexus 4 just my favorite combo so far

If you look a few posts above I said which thread you can find it in. It's not on the main Quanta thread. I can't get the thread link from Labs, besides you'll probably do yourself a favor comparing to the other kernels, remember I have a new battery so you might not get the same results.
which nougat rom and kernel is the best? i am on stock 5.1.1..
i want rom for daily using, so minimum bugs
quanta v19 mako nougat 7.1.1 work
Nexus4ever latest with hellspawn r4 and the battery life is :good:. The only downside that I know of is the video playback is choppy AF. Very Smooth and worth the try!

If you're looking for a 7.1 ROM, try out dirty unicorns. They are not on XDA, but they have a Google+ page and a website with downloads for Clark. It is one of the most stable ROMS right know for this device. If you wanna stay on marshmallow I'm pretty sure Tru pure is still a great ROM, and you probably wouldn't wanna change.
I've gone back to stock with this device as every custom rom that I have tried has had some issue or another, making them unstable. The Brazilian stock nougat TWRP backup that is available on this forum is working surprisingly well on my device, an XT1572 being used in the UK.

None of the ROM'S do gestures as well as the stock gestures work, such as waving hand to wake the phone..etc..but they still work fairly well. Dirty unicorns also has the other moto gestures such as flip the phone to silence among others.
+1 for dirty unicorns. I'm running on their latest official release and its pretty good.
The latest build of stock 6.0.1 + Root + Xposed.
Stock... pure, untouched stock is the best for stability and speed, no doubt about it.
If you mean what CUSTOM rom is best, BrokenOS for MM or Dirty Unicorns for Nougat... Both are good, but neither one is as stable as stock.

i am using AISP rom and it is working well so far. Fast and smooth so far with huge amount of apps in background, also phone is not overhearting

Yes it worth it.
1. Performance is better than stock with more features and latest security patches.Battery life is great too.
2. I didn't face any issue in any custom ROM.i am using custom roms for 2 months and gone back to stock 1 time and realise custom roms are way better than stock ROM in every way.
3. Google camera take way better photos than stock camera.
4.custom roms are 64 bits and we have treble support too. Try pure aosp treble ROM it's awesome.
5.moto action works fine on custom roms with added extra fingerprint gestures and screen off gestures.
5. Join telegram group for better support almost all the devs are in the group and they are friendly too.

Hi, I tried a Lot of custom roms on my xt1685. But
all of them are fighting with camera problems and loosing volte. The Advantage of 64Bit Rom I really didnt feel and See.
The only Advantage in my opinión is the Higher Security Level because of faster Updates.
So if you ask me, wait for the 8.1 Upgrade.
In meantime I am Back on Stock with locked bootloader.

I tried every Oreo ROM performance is same in all roms but I like nitrogen os best.I am using nitrogen os mod with arnova's Google cam latest version released today. Performance and battery life both are awesome in nos. See attached photo 30% remaining with 5h sot. You can even increase it further you ace or any other kernel but it depends from device to device. camera takes supereb portrait shots from both front and back camera.
And for volte I was facing initially facing issue in all Oreo based roms the problem was if you reboot your device after initial startup volte was gone but than accidently I figured out that if I turned on airplane mode before reboot volte works just fine. After that I tried every Oreo based roms for Moto g5 plus volte works in every ROM every times( in pe ROM I have to change some setting to make volte work)
Plus added benefits of root like unlimited high quality backup on google photos. Google lens on assistant and camera , sound mods like viper Dolby. Xposed beta 3 also works fine on Oreo.
Every Oreo ROM is super stable even without official Oreo not out yet. Development is supereb on Moto g5 plus. Head out to telegram group if you any further doubts most of the devs are there.
