A refurbished phone is similar to a second-hand phone.
Only that the phone was bought and returned back within a couple of days and is now being sold by the company at lower price. It shouldn't have any technical problems and should have any issues (if any) repaired.
more suggestions
hey
any one with more info?
What info are you looking for? GDReaper pretty effectively explained it, but if you need assurance, a refurbished S4 is no different from owning a brand new S4 in that you should have all the same accessories and components, and should have a warranty of some sort. A refurbished S4 has no greater chance of bricking or of having problems by using Odin than a new device.
Case in point, my S4 was purchased used. Unlike your refurbished unit, there was no guarantee the unit wouldn't die the day after I had it. In fact, I encountered a problem a little more than a month out that I had to fix myself because I had no warranty. If my S4 was refurbished I may have been able to get warranty service and not have to order a part.

Not sure if anyone has experience this before. I bought a brand new unit from Negri Electronics. I put my current Sim, from old Galaxy Tab 7, in the new 7.7 and it doesn't recognized it. Later i tried to put my friend's T-mobile Sim and same result. Maybe I am the lucky one, getting a lemon???
I've already start the RMA process, hopefully they can send me a working unit soon.
Has anyone dealing with Negri Electronics before? How do they usually handle this kind of situation? do they send out refurblished unit or brand new?
Thanks

Have you tried referring back to your operator and replacing your sim with a new one.
This was my case and a new sim solved the problem.
Try rebooting after inserting the sim.
Sent from my GT-P6800 using XDA Premium HD app
Yes, tried new sim for carrier but no luck.
Turn out it was a defected unit. Got the replacement today and everything is working fine
I'll keep it short.
Bought i9505 from amazon.co.uk
Came - was defective
Wanted replacement
Amazon out of stock
Offered refund instead
So now I've got a refund, I'm debating if i should get the i9500 or i9505.
Found i9500 in MY country here:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-SIM-F...87689?pt=UK_Mobile_Phones&hash=item19dc2f92c9
i9505 is almost everywhere, so no problems finding it.
I have a question. What is the 'out of the box' GB capacity for the i9500? And are people still experiencing overheating?

Hi everyone,
I want to buy the i9505 unlocked model, but the sellers from amazon got bad feedback like "bought a S4, came a S4 box, S4 manual, S3 inside, total scam!", my friend will be just a few days in the US so I wont be able to send it back if it is the wrong model, is there any online store I can trust that will not scam or send an i9500 by mistake?
Thanks in advance
Hi All,
My Samsung S4 died recently and it does not turn on anymore. I took it to a Samsung workshop and they told me the motherboard got fried and it needs to be replaced. However, they would charge me about $300 for the repair, which of course I find it to be a total robbery. I have decided to take a step forward and repair it myself, which I found to be quite easy (I have already removed the motherboard myself). I have searched for replacement motherboards on eBay and found some in China for about $50. My questions are:
1. Is the motherboard replacement a simple "plug & play" matter or does it need to be programmed?
2. Where is the most recommended place to buy a motherboard for that model?
3. Any other watchouts/recommendations you have for me before I go ahead and buy the replacement?
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Yes, the motherboard is a "plug and play" replacement. The only thing you may need to do is update it to the latest ROM.
Make sure you do not get an s4 made for mainland china, verizon, AT&T, South Korea, and Sprint.

Hi friends,
my S4 died a few times ago. For now, i'm using an S3, but I want to return to using S4 again.
I want to buy a motherboard from aliexpress and repair it by myself, but I don't know how to choose the right version (there are many? I'm from Italy).
Can anyone help? Thanks in advance !
Look at the original motherboard for any markings. You could have the gt-9500, gt-9505, etc.
