What could cause this? It doesn't show up under location as high usage. It doesn't show up as an app...
I am not rooted.
Thank you in advance.

boot the phone into recovery and clean cache and dalvik, reboot, and check, also if u recently made a change, just let it sit, wait til 15% and then charge to 100% again, then reboot, and let the phone connected about 10 minutes after it reaches 100%. you need to do at least 2 or 3 battery cycles to properly calibrate the battery and the whole phone, cpus, kernel, modems, etc etc, good luck, cheers:fingers-crossed:

How do I clear Dalvik Cache? I searched good, and I must be rooted, is that correct? I'm not rooted.
This setup has been on my phone for well over a weak. It has also gone down to below 20% a few times.
Thank you for your response Very kind of you.

U can easily clear dalvik cache after rooting ur device with Root cleaner (root) android app.

Hi again! Yes, I cleared the normal cache, but I was wondering if there was anything else apart from that since I don't have root for the dalvik cache. .

Your phones not deep sleeping, looks like the usual Play Services drain. Try signing out and in again. Here's an article on it.....

Just from what was mentioned before, the clearing of the cache, I have achieved this. Hehe.
So I can get more than two days of light usage... Great news ^_^

Process "mediaserver" running @ 100% CPU

What's the deal. My phone went from 60ish% battery life to 9% in less than a couple of hours. On top of that, it's been running really slow. I knew something was up. Pulled up my handy-dandy SystemPanel and saw that the process "mediaserver" was running at 100% exactly during the time I saw a huge drain in battery. What is this process and how can I avoid this from happening in the future?! I think it started after I played with my camera and camcorder a bit.
Also, I never noticed this happening with previous Fresh versions. Seems consistent with Fresh 3.1.0.1.
Thanks in advance...

It's a bug in your rom that comes into play after using the camcorder. Check out the rom thread, but I don't think there's a fix yet.

I had that happen on one of the nightly builds from CM when I did a upgrade without a wipe. Did Cache wipe and DV Cache and all was well, no idea what caused it though
Now that I think about it I seem to recall it happening after I used the Video Cam and it would flake out and then that Media Server drain would kick in
Freshness!
Good to know it isn't something unique to my phone. I'll peek in at the Fresh thread for the time being. As far as doing a wipe goes. I always do 2x wipe of the cache and DV cache before and after installing anything via recovery. Don't think that would resolve this issue completely.
Make sure your geo-tagging option in the camera is off.
Is that the culprit?! Don't remember ever turning that on.
Anyone else having this issue?! It's really bothering me and it is hindering my camcorder unusable...
bump!!!!!!!!!!
Am I really alone with this issue?! It's consistent with me. Rendering my Camcorder unusable.

Battery drain all of a sudden. It's killing me!

Recently my phone has been dying really fast. I checked battery stats and Android system is what's killing it. I've tried everything to make it stop and nothing works. Does anyone else have this problem? Any idea on how to stop this? PLEASE HELP.

Boot into recovery then do clear cache partition. Should clear out whatever is causing this issue unless that app is still in there

Clearing cache could and probably will get rid of it. But I bought an app called Better Battery Stats, (id link it but im new) which tells you exactly what is waking up your phone while its off. Chances are you have a rouge app, that is just destroying your battery, as opposed to a system-wide problem. That app will tell you what it is.
Ignore the battery charging cycle. I'm just showing you what I have to go through also and somewhat fixed the problem.
I have and still have %50 android os usage. Before I did this mod, the android os was the highest usage and showed awake time as well. It was killing my battery from a full charge it drained down to zero in 12 hours with 1hr screen time and the phone never being in a deep sleep. It was aggravating because I wiped my phone so many times, tried different roms, took sim card out, no wifi, wiped cache, and wiped phone with nothing installed. Still the high android still persist and no deep sleep. I'm thinking it has to be Verizon doing something or Google that is waking up the phone.
Some how I fixed it or maybe the OTA fixed it. I odin mj7 and updated to the newest version and flashed beans. From the screen shot it shows my android os still high... but with no awake time. So my phone is actually in deep sleep mode now. It's weird but I semi - fixed it. I'm still clueless on why it's so high when previously screen time usually trumps as the number one usage spot. I still have no answer to this reason but I hope it helps a bit to fix this issue.

HEY same exact thing here. Android OS usage going nuts here. I personally think its related to certain wifi / router setups.
When im on 3g/4g all day, it doesnt happen. On the days that I am stuck at home on wifi, the android OS usage starts again.
Ive already Odin'd back to MI7, took ota to MJE, rerooted, installed beans b5 and its still happening.
I think its a bug with samsung / verizon wifi. Many times I will wake up my screen and see my GPS / Wifi being used for no apparent reason even with all location services turned off. I also notice my wifi indicators being on when i turn my screen on. Then after i turn my screen on and sit at my home screen for a few seconds. It all magically stops.
Mind you, this is with no apps installed other than what is in beans stock and nova launcher.
You guys should monitor while off wifi and see what happens. It was the first thing that struck me when i was on a road trip for 12 hours. My battery life was exceptional. If it is the wifi causing problems, i wonder what it is specifically.
Simply clearing the cache fixes this for me every time. I usually do it once every few weeks.
Settings..storage..tap on cached data and hit clear.

6P losing 50+ % overnight now... last three nights

I was losing no more than 1% per night until three nights ago. I have also tried wiping the cache partition (yesterday) to no avail. "Android OS" is listed as the top resource hog, and it looks like it is not letting the phone sleep.
It looks like "keep awake" under the Android OS entry in the battery is going for the entire time the phone is on.
Suggestions?

Something isn't letting your phone sleep/doze.
You need the check which applications are running.
WiFi scanning is on perhaps?
Exchange services? That was my issue. I had to give up on using gmail for my exchange account and download Microsoft outlook for android.
Thanks I will check those. Wifi scanning is likely on, but that has been on for months now... not sure why the sudden change. May have to just wipe the phone and see what happens. Google maps, when giving directions on my car Bluetooth, has also started cutting off the last 30% or so of the voice guidance every time. Maybe a wipe will fix that, too.

Impossible to tell what's causing the wakelocks with root. Best you can do is educated guess.
something was holding your device awake literally the entire time

I have the similar drain too. Using Oos 4.5.3 I'm trying to figure it out.

Of course you can flash a ROM lol. Another option is the very well know BetterBatteryStats. Which has built in wakelock detector monitoring as well as a slew of other battery monitoring functions.

Actually i tried to boot to safe mode and checked if that works. I was able to put it to sleep, so im just trying to figure which app is causing the wakelock.
Try to clean cache and dalvik in recovery and might be re-flash your OS.
Mine, rooted on stock OxygenOS 4.5.3 loosing 0.3% per hour over night when phone is idle (on LTE always, I have a good signal, also no GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi scan etc.).
PS: Android will try to "report" back to mother-ship time to time and if there is bad connectivity it might get stack in re-try loop eating to the battery. Unless you are in airplane mode then it should stop... but I would not count on that.

Axon 7 (Official ROM) known BUGS

I use phone (a2017g, V1.2.0B.09) 20 days.
I have noticed these bugs in ROM:
1) Mobile signal stops presenting in battery stats graph,

}
2) Dolby periodically change my castom profile to music or turn off,
3) Double tap is not reliable,
4) In camera app for front camera, beauty mod is default and can't change.
List of bugs are not significant.
what bugs did you notice?
Not necessarily bugs, but annoyances;
Bluetooth always off after restart
Bluetooth won't auto connect to paired device
Live Wallpaper changes back to default without setting change
I don't know what people do to their phones but mine doesn't suffer these bugs. Selfie mode works normally, Dolby seems to work ok but I actually switch it off mostly. Double tap is good, BT auto connect usually works, maybe sometimes problems with this are partly to do with the audio device? I usually don't want to wait for auto connect as I have a lot of paired devices and will just go in and do it manually but if I leave it, it will work.
If I had all these bugs, I would back up data and reset the phone.
Sometimes my battery graph/percentage freezes and does not go down with use. Happened to me twice in the 2 months plus I own it.
But the worst bug is this phone kills SD cards.

Ideally, reset should not be the first resort to a problem but the last resort. Imagine if my Windows PC requires a format every time there is a problem, I will get no work done.
Having said that, do you know if reset will solve the SD card killing problem that some of us have?

Of course this is what we ment by doing a clean install if problems don't go away or reoccur.
Btw, resetting my phone and doing a clean install costs me some minutes. A pc is quite something different
No, unfortunately I do not think resetting this phone will resolve the sd-killing issue.
For example I have 3 apps running. When I tap recent apps it shows those 3 apps then I tap "clear all" it says "apps were closed" and shows the amount of memory cleared when I tap recent apps again it shows all same those apps again!!??
Whenever I close them by X icon on top right then it works but "clear all" never works
Anyone same situation?
