Losing network signal on custom ROMs after trying out stock Lollipop - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I have d802 with stock Lollipop 30B firmware.
After wanting to go back to CyanogenMod 12, I cant get stable cellular signal anymore. It looks like it's toggling airplane mode on and off every ~5 sec.
Tried wiping, restoring previous nandroid, a clean install, other ROMs... same thing, cellular network is stable only on stock ROM.
Is there any way to fi it? Has the 30B update updated the modem/baseband so it isn't compatible anymore? Will flashing stock KK revert all updates partitions and firmwares on the phone?I have a fully working stock ROM, but I use custom ROMs for like forever, and this LG UI is for me ugly and limited...

Hello,
Yes it is possible to downgrade from an official Molitor to an official kitkat (the latest).
I do it, when the flash is end and the mobile show the logo Samsung
You can put out the battery, reboot to the recovery and wipe all user data.
Before do that save all your data.
It's an official administrator from Samsung who say me do so.
Hope that can help you.

Isn't the bootloader required to flash the ROM?
I'm very afraid of trying stock lollipop. I was on Temasek's CM12 build but I had abysmal batterylife. This was probably not attributed to Temasek's build but rather to CM12 as a whole, so I went back to my nandroid containing Crash Rom V19 on kitkat 4.4.2 and I literally have less than 1% drain per hour with the phone idle. I love this batterylife, and I feel I'd like to try and see if stock lollipop TW will give me the same but I would like the option to go back to kitkat if it's worse. I like lollipop a lot but the promise of batterylife seems to hit and miss, makes me stay on kitkat.
I know Crash Rom has a lollipop version, but beside this, which ROM is the MOST stock with the least amount of modifications?

Downgrading

Hi, My cell is on LP 5 but i don't like it, can i isntall any kitkat rom without flashing the kk firmware, if yes how
thx
I think that yes. I flashed on my G900F Miui based in KK and it worked on LP firmware
Lollipop Update Blocked downgrading.
It's not going to work. I think that using a nandroid backup made by somebody else should work.

can't receive proper LTE signal after flash cloudy 2.2 on d801

Had a new g2 comes with 5.0.2 with 30B , flashed the JB boot loader and kika baseband and running newest doriman kernel. But all the mobile data I can get is edge. What went wrong , boot loader ? Baseband ? Kernel ? Just can't figure out which part could possibly went wrong, please help ! About to go back stock now, but really appreciate my 8 hrs screen time
1. Make sure you flashed the correct baseband for your model
2. Check your Network mode:
Settings -> Tethering & networks -> Mobile networks -> Network Mode (must be GSM / WCDMA / LTE auto)
3. Check your APN settings:
Settings -> Tethering & networks -> Mobile networks -> Access point names (get settings from your provider)
I made sure it is kk baseband for d801 and correct network with APN, but I still can only receive edge. Could it be other factor or what I have is not d801, I saw thread about some of the phone is being faked here
Do I have to flash a different boot stack if I came from 5.0.2, it just occurred to me I never did
I tried two other rom, cloudy 3.3 and cm 13. I can't get lte on neither of those, only 2g edge. Sth is wrong about the baseband I flashed, right now I have restore the phone to its original state. But I can no longer receive LTE . Can someone help me find out the baseband version of build LRX22G D80130b

I can only speak to Cloudy 3.3 but I've been running it with no problems. I flashed the 20G bootstack found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-g2/development/rom-tmo-lp-extreme-v1-0-4-16-15-t3084681. Then without rebooting I flashed Cloudy 3.3. Factory reset to be safe then it worked fine. As far as baseband, I never flashed any baseband with any ROM I've run (Stock 5.02, TMO Extreme, Cloudy 2.2, Cloudy 3.3 and CM13). Only the correct bootstack first. Hope this helps.

it would help if i read yours before i flash baseband and then cloudy rom days ago, but right now even i follow your direction with bootstack and cloudy rom, i still can not receive anything beyond 2G. i tried deliberately flash totally wrong baseband or when i install cloudy rom choose a different verieation, but they would either fail to boot in a weird way or i can not receive any data at all. It is nothing like i flash the right baseband and receive 2g edge data. The only combanation that is working so far is the kk d802 baseband with my backup stock image. but i still only receive 2g data. i am about to give up trying, just looking to unroot and return it back now
does this method from this discontinued thread still work ? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476&highlight=stock

Upgrading lp to mm, now I can't install custom roms

Don't Know what I am doing wrong. This is my forth phone I've rooted and installed custom roms. I just upgraded from lollypop to Marshmellow, I was running moar rom on lollypop, no problems.
After I upgraded I lost root access so I re-rooted. But now I can not seem to have success on installing a new rom, I've tried two different roms. I follow the instructions and it begins to load and just sits there, even after a good 20 minutes or so. I'm figuring I'm missing something here, please help. My stasts: ,Sprint carreir, model sm-G900P, build MMB29M.G900PVPU3CPCA

Ok, sorry for being such a dumb ass, but can someone walk me through this. I only know enough to be a total danger to myself and don't want to really f something up that I can't fix.

Dude, you have to read some basic things to understand, but to give you a direction:
Here's a generell list of guides and fixes. It has a "root"- and a "recovery"- section. Both are absolutely necessary. Go here first.
Here's a list of custom roms. There are stock-roms, stock-based-roms and completely custom-roms. I prefer stock-based-roms because the devs added some extra features and you have full driver support.
I hope this helps a little bit.

i have read some of there before, but i'm yet to understand it, because my previous phone was nexus 4, installing roms and such was fairly easy, and with this LG G2, there are complicated things even as flashing roms, not all models the same and such, and im afraid to brick my phone because of that, i also have a D801 model - D80110C and i have heared that there are different version of things and such.
anyway, what will be the best way to flash stock lollipop / stock based roms and later flash back to 4.2.2 if something goes wrong? thanks
I just did this, in my experience the best way is
1) updating to stock lollipop
2) rooting via oneclickroot
3) flashing twrp via AutoRec (correct version)
4) flashing twrp 3.x blastagator via old twrp
5) flashing desired rom
There is one caveat though, the root process will install the correct (old) SuperSU that works with AutoRec, but google play may update it beforehand so that AutoRec cannot work. My fix was to install AutoRec before the root and then go into airplane mode and do it all in one go. Also, you should always check if you got the correct carrier version of your software.
Going back to kitkat? This should not be necessary imo, but if you mess something up you can always flash the stock .kdz files (lp or kitkat) via download mode and lg flash tool 2014. This phone is almost unbrickable.
Hope this helps and after years of G2 roms I can finally give something back.

do you have a D801 model? i cannot update to lollipop through normal fota or lg pc suite, it doesnt see anymore updates
i have software version of D80110c, what are the last letters means in it? C/G/ and such,
and also how should i update to stock lollipop rom without bricking my phone? it seems that there is alot of room to ****up. thanks =]
I have d802 and could always update it to LP via LG software update in the phone settings.
10/20/30 is android version, 30 being lollipop. 30a/b/c/d is revision or carrier version I think.
I am not sure about D801, but if I was you, I would try to update to LP via official LG update, otherwise try to root+recovery with your existing kitkat (search the forums) or flash LP kdz from download mode (LG flash tool). Always make sure it works for d801 and your software version.
Then I would install a fast custom rom cause stock LP is rather slow.

i tried to update through lg, but it showed me that i am "UP TO DATE" might be because i bought it from someone who bought it in the US in cincenti bell ( and i dont live in the US, or close to it), the phone have a cincinetti bell rom, so i guess that why i cant update it through the phone like that. and i have a jelly bean 4.2.2 , not even kitkat. it is possible to flash a lollipop kdz just like that even if i have stock never tuched 4.2.2 ? thanks alot
