Hello
I've received this watch two weeks ago from Hong Kong
I open this thread to share my impressions with other users of this smartwatch.
1st impressions:
- contruction: material are very good. it's not easy to insert sim card
- update: i've installed one OTA update on 24/07, no changelog provided
- wifi: ok
- battery: not good, 1/2 day with normal use (bluetooth, gps on, sync off, automatic screen on shake off)
- apps: the apps like play store are not fitted to the round screen so it's really hard to use it
- runtastic: not compatible
- apps from play store : can't use some installed apps (after install are not listed in launcher)
- health functions: heart rate seems to be inaccurate. it's impossible to have a continuos monitoring with preinstalled app.
- calls: no problem, voice is clear with speakerphone. mic is ok.
- OK Google functions: really hard to set-up because of round screen. OK Google detection works (only with open app? maybe for some lost set-up)
- root: from settings menu you can unlock bootloader
phone app: sometimes my phone (oneplus one) can't connect to the paired watch. the app Sinwear is not the best...
TWRP port: here thanks to @cyrux75
TWRP installation instruction
and FINALLY... ROOT ACCESS thanks to @split52
1st custom ROM with TWRP and flash tooldowload here thanks to @split52

Hi,
i also have the bluetooth problem, it´s instable, and i try to work with smartwach app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ble.SmartWatch) but it won´t let me do bluetooth tethering, i´m not using SIM.
try to install S Health, but does not allows me, it asks for sim card, wich i not use.
Oscar
I bought the Lemfo Lem3 which seems to be exactly the same as the Blitz.
The biggest issue for me is the battery life.
Even with GPS, Bluetooth and WiFi turned off the battery last only about 7hrs. The specs stated 3hrs talk time, but the battery runs out after about 30min when making a phone call.
The battery life is a show stopper for me as I don't want to have to charge it several times throughout the day.
Yes, I confirm, bluetooth is not working good, can't receive notifications from phone and sinwear can't sinchronize watch data.

Hi,
I also confirm, bluetooth disconnects every time.
I have an iphone 6, I have tried sinwear app for IOS and the first time when you pair the "blitz" with the app, I receive all notifications from notification center and I can receive call notifications, SMS, mail, ... but after, 1 hour, 2 hours the smartwatch loses the bluetooth connection.
Sometimes it loses also the language configuration and date/time.
I have tried also install other BT apps like LE or BLE and I have the same result.
"Bluetooth disconnects!!!"
In the specifications from smartwatch says that the ios is in development, maybe is the reason for notifications, but I think that the problem for the bluetooth is for all platforms.
I seems that they have a big problem with this.
The battery life if you put hand bright screen to off is better, for me all day.
Hi,
Hi,
I hesitate between several watches, Zeblaze Blitz, No1 D5+ and K9. The only one certified IP67 is the Zeblaze so I think this is my preference.
Can you tell me if it's Micro (as most of phones) or Nano Sim (as iPhone 5, 6,...) ?
Do you think it's possible (using GSM with the watch) to hangup and answer textos with the phone connected by bluetooth ? It's easier to use phone keyboard instead of the watch one.
Is it possible to spell the texto instead of using keyboard ?
Is it possible to download and install new watch faces ?
Many thanks
Sorry for my english...
nano sim
for bluetooth features, read previous posts, all users (me too) have problems with bluetooth.
watch faces: you can use only the installed ones (approx 20 watch faces)
spell the text: you can use "ok google features" to make calls, send sms and whatsapp without keyboard
ciao!

Bluetooth is a problem on all these sinsoft launcher based watches I2, S99, Blitz, KW88 etc etc
Battery is also terrible on all except the I2 - if on the newer firmware - but this has phone-call related bugs.
Watch Faces are a no go until we get more info from the Manufacturer - it's coming in August most likely.....
They all use a nano sim.
PS: DO NOT TRY TO CROSS FLASH FIRMWARE ON THESE WATCHES - you will end up with a bricked watch.
They all have security checks built in to prevent this.
update: watch is on, battery at 64% --> watch shut down itself. plug in charger --> battery at 0%.
I am very happy about this watch.......................
i am so far ok with this.
yes battery wont last long. But usually i just use it for strava without 3G. battery seems to last long with that.
I think after root it should get better. Not sure how to do though
Any idea how to do backup?

Same problem here. It dies when it's supposed to have around 50-60% left. I'm going to RMA my watch and hopefully get refund. Trying to record when it happens at the moment. We'll see what happens I guess :crying:
After update my gesture clock is bugged (i think). No mater which face i put it will on gesture move show same one... Is this the case on your Blitz ? after ota update ?

Hi guys,
I am quite surprised with your bad experiences with this smartwatch because I am very pleased with my Zeblaze Blitz for now.
I have it since 2 weeks and am very satisfied with it. So I upvoted it
I use it as a companion with my phone and only use bluetooth with tethering to have internet on the watch. The bad part with tethering is that I have to activate my bluetooth as a modem on my phone each time I activate it and then go to bluetooth settings on the watch, find my phone and check "Internet access" to enable it. Doing this each time is quite frustrating...
Synchronization is done with the sinwear official app and I receive all notifications from my phone (mails, hangouts, sms/mms, phone call) without a problem.
I tested SWApp Link which works pretty well (new possibility to respond sms and hangouts directly from the watch AND to reject phone call with or without a message, respond did not work for me) and add new watchfaces but it drains the battery too fast for a full day use.
The only bluetooth deconnections I noticed are when I go too far from my phone and I need to resync the watch via sinwear on the phone when I am back but it took only a few secs.
My build is Z9-KY-V06, I made an update directly through the watch right after getting it from Z9-KY-V04 (I think it was a 4 at the end but I am not sure at 100%).
The battery lasts a little more than 2 working days, I power it up when I go to work and power it off shortly after coming back home so I will say it lasts around 25-28hours in my usage. I am actually at 15% on my third morning and will need to charge it not long after lunch.
I did'nt try yet its waterproof functionality but I will tell you if it's still working when drenched while running
Podometer is not that accurate (according to it I make some steps while just gesturing or typing on my keyboard while seated) but give a good idea of what you travelled.
I hope it will help you, do not hesitate if you have any question
PS : My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo.
PS2 : I tested Pokemon GO for my wife with GPS and wifi activated and it is working ! I cannot say more because I won't give her my new watch nor am I interested in that game, but if some of you guys are...
I'm have this smartwatch but brand Lemfo Lem3. i can't connect with Android Wear, can paired but can't connect stuck in updating screen, Any solve problems ? when i install Sinwear, i understan't but language in chinnese (mandarin), How i install Sinwear in english ? what this smartwatch add watch faces ? how ?
thanks and sorry with my english.
We cannot add new watchfaces for now but you can follow the community "Round Android Smartwatches- ROMs, Faces and FAQs" on Google+ (can't add links), if something new emerges it will be indicated there !
Did you flash the sinwear code directly from the watch ? I downloaded it that way on my phone and it was in english.
Maybe it's different with Lem3 than with Blitz.
------
I tested gesture clock and it always shows for a short second a minimalistic but nice 4 digits bi-colour hour minute. I think it shows my watchface before I updated but I can't say for sure because I didn't use that a lot.
I don't find it problematic not to have the full clock face when just wanting to check the hour, I think it's better for the battery life. But this behavior requires to push a button each time we want to really use the watch and not only check the time.
Talking of battery life I didn't precise that I use a custom level of brightness somewhere between mid and low and that I deactivated all sounds. I am sure those two steps greatly helps my watch longevity
i cant conecct with usb and my pc, this is possible with this watch?
Yes it is, but you need to plug your watch to its charging dock first.
If it is not working try activating usb debugging in the developer menu on the watch.
Some other people have a problem with their battery, unplug and plug it again a minute later seems to solve some problems.
If yours persists you should contact the vendor.
Hi,
How to upgrade build number? My Blitz is having Z9-KY-V03. I am using Wireless Upgrade and see a message saying "This version is not configured in FOTA server"
Hello everyone.
Is there anyone here with multiple Wear watches (preferably with different Wear versions) paired to a single phone?
I am wondering it it is just me, or anyone else too, that have such problems with watches.
I suspect that since the Wear app v. 2.0 started rolling out, having multiple watches (with different OSs) paired to my phone just started an armageddon.
Before official 2.0, I had devprev on huawei and 1.5 on zw3 and Gwatch. I had ZERO issues, ever. Then, Wear app v. 2.0 update came and it slowly began:
Wear app is going haywire almost every week. I shot few videos, hopefully I will be able to throw them on youtube tonight to showcase what is happening. But basically: I choose a watch and connect it in wear app. App shows connected. I leave for work. At work I notice I dont get notifications. I check the app, and it shows one of few possible screens: trying to connect.. or "Have a watch? set it up" (that is the most hilarious for me ) Or shows a page that would normally show your chosen watch, but it is blank. Everytime I close and open Wear app, it can show something different. It can also be showing "Connected" for a long time, but nothing works. You cant see battery stats, change watchface, nothing...
The last time, I even lost all my paired watches in BT settings. Wear app says "reconnect", ok, it reconnects, but actually isnt connected. Well, I am not sure about that to be honest.. Smart lock works Sometimes, watch says connected too (in Settings-About) The most faulty watches are those with 2.0. But it happened to 1.4 and 1.5 too.
As of right now, only zenwatch3 on 1.5 is working, but, I did a FR yesterday because it wasnt working
I am really f**king fed up with resetting every god damn watch every god damn week so that it can work for a week and then god damn break again!
I am so glad I still keep my Sony SW2 as a backup, this watch works just AWESOME! Wear watches are still nowhere near the ease of usability and reliability of SW2.
EDIT: I uploaded videos of said behaving:
NOone with issues with multiple watches??
Yes, only 1.5 watches still, but I get best results with only one watch powered on at a time, and only one manually chosen to be connected via BT in the phone app. Otherwise, there are frequent connect/disconnect notifications, mysterious quick battery drain, and often conflict between what the phone app says is connected, and what the icons on the watch say about the connection. I occasionally get the "set up your watch" on the phone app as well. I just back out of it, and it's ok.

Thanks, the symptoms are the same. But it is happening to me even when I have only one watch powered on and only one watch connected to phone. But, 7 watches total are paired. I am starting to think if it is something with BT 4.0 hardware limitations.
Last night I got one of those cheap Chinese smartwatches for $40 locally. (Amazon seems to have some for $20 at amzn.to/2qpSftK) Yeah I know, I know, but I work at a job that is anal about cell phones (a major gripe of mine the way places can be that way) and I need to know if my child's ride at school doesn't show up or if school lets out early due to a power outage etc, if that happens then I HAVE to pause what I'm doing and make a call or two to make pickup arrangements or else it's a legal issue of child abandonment. Such may only happen 2-3 times an entire school year, but it has happened a few times--my mother-in-law's battery was dead and she was running late, or she couldn't find her keys etc--in such cases I had to track down someone locally and get them to step-in, last minute.
Thus, I need a smartwatch which can relay calls which have come in so I can see them and it also needs to push SMS messages and let me reply to them, that way without even pulling my phone out of my pocket I will know if this has occurred (and can quickly reply to SMS) but I can otherwise keep my phone in my pocket knowing beyond any shadow of a doubt that if a call or SMS has come in, this watch WILL pick it up and I WILL be able to reply to them.
This watch I got, it is fine with relaying phone calls and it even relayed the audio from a YouTube video I was watching on the phone itself, but it WILL NOT WORK with relaying SMS. At first it did, such requires installing a "BT Notifier" on the phone (which is the best?) but even then it was hit or miss, and then it just stopped. I've done EVERYTHING in terms of different BT Notifier apps, I even scanned the "OCR Code" or whatever to point to the BT Notifier specific to that model (it appears to be a GT08 type, with the "fan" style of icons, menu/phone on the bottom left and names/text on the right, this YouTube video Ksy0pd-12BI shows one like it), I set that app up--no matter, IT WILL NOT push SMS to this smartwatch, no way/no how.
Is this a common occurrence with such smartwatches? Is this a case of that I'm going to have to just accept this model CANNOT handle SMS no matter what and get something else, vs being able to actually fix this? One model I had read good things about in an article (BIT and 2lTVoxg) called the OUMAX Bluetooth Smart Watch S6 for around $50, this model looked like a good one because it downplays "fitness" features I do not at all need and instead stresses pushing smartphone notifications and being able to replay to them, which is what I DO need. I started to get it on Amazon but then it would've required several days to get here and I need something up & running quickly but without spending $250. Maybe I should've just gotten that and waited?
Tips in general?
If anyone has any tips please do reply, I am only say this because I have an update but that doesn't mean I am not still looking for help.
I've somehow got it working just fine, no timing out of connectivity or any such thing. I had saved the downloaded BT Notifier .apk file from the app it referenced in the barcode I scanned, and I tried again but this time I disabled an app I've used on the phone for a long time--NoLED, which displays a moving dot on the LCD when notifications arrive, making it unnecessary to "wake up" the phone to see missed calls etc. I've used that app for forever, it's a long-time staple of mine, but I wondered if it was possibly interfering with this process.
I'm not sure if that is the case, but since disabling it (but also turning the watch off and letting it charge to full overnight) it's working great today. I possibly could get beyond that eventually but for now I'll take it, I mean having a smartwatch does somewhat make it less necessary anyway. The only issue now--the band, it won't attach and it's apparently a permanent part of the watch's structure, not easily swapped out. I'm not sure how I'll get around that, maybe stitching another watch band on top of it using a sewing kit?
Ultimate Fix: Watch-Specific App/Disable/Install 3rd Party
I'm somewhat disappointed in the lack of replies. Is this because this watch is now perhaps an older model, or what is the reason?
In any case, I now have the ultimate fix.
It's 3 things:
(1) Install the watch-specific app by scanning the QR code and "sideloading" the app
(2) "Force Stop" this app in Google settings but DO NOT uninstall it, leave it installed.
(3) Install the 3rd party app by "Shenznen Fan Yun Technology Co, Ltd" (green background, white circle with exclamation point) then under the "Accessibility" enable the second "BT Notifications" entry, leave the 1st one at OFF
When I got this watch, the first thing I did was download that 3rd party app, it worked some but not consistently, then it totally stopped. I then stumbled across the QR code in the watch, scanned it, installed that app, and that worked--but that app was FULL of adware, constantly bugging me to install this app or that, launching a new tab and page in my Chrome browser, and just being a total pain. I was glad the watch worked, but hated that behavior--so much I disabled the app, figuring I'd just have to re-enable it when the watch was being used.
On a hunch, eager to try again, with the watch-specific app still disabled, I downloaded the 3rd party "Shenznen Fan Yun Technology Co, Ltd" app and, just totally guessing, under "accessibility" enabled the 2nd entry (both entries have identical names so you can't tell which is which), but didn't uninstall the watch-specific app only because I figured that I would end up having to revert back to it anyway.
To my surprise, this has worked. It seems to require me turning the watch off and connecting through the watch initially, but however I get a connection and the SMS message log on the phone populates on the watch, at that point it is stable and reliable from that point on. I had it running today all-day and was receiving texts and the inbox was coming up reliably.
I hope this helps somebody. (Note: this watch is still being sold as eBay item #381686066028.)
Well, there doesn't seem to be a generic smart watch thread, so I thought I would post this here. If there is a better place for it, mods may feel free to move it if they wish.
So, i am looking for a recommendation on a smart watch. I was a pebble time user for a long time, but after the announcement that they will stop supporting it thus summer, i am a bit concerned its gonna stop working, so I have started my search. So far I have been through and returned a Fossil, and am getting ready to return my Zen Watch 3 because of all the bugs and problems (see my post yesterday) so I came here for a recommendation. If needed, I have a 6P running Android 8.0.0 rooted.
So here are my needs. please keep in mind that the needs listed may (I don't know) be common to most/all smart watches, but figure I should probably include them in case.
1) It must work reliably 99.9% of the time. 15 seconds before the watch notifies me of a phone call isn't acceptable. (Hence why I am thinking about ditching my Zen. The Zen Watch 3, as least as it is working for me is a horribly unreliable piece of junk, and Asus tech support is a total joke.)
2) It must notify me of phone calls, and text messages, and include the contact name in the notification.
3) I must be able to reply, at least by voice, to text messages I receive.
4) Must get at least 24 hours out of a charge with light use, and have some battery to spare. EG. My Zen watch, I use it occasionally, and after 24 hours, I usually have 25-%-35% life left. Thats why I got rid of the Fossil. Battery life was horrible.
5) Sub $500 Canadian (For our US people out there, thats about $400)
6) Must be available in Canada, and be purchasable from a retailer that permits "I didn't like it" returns. (Such as big box stores, etc, where you can return an item because it didn't suit your needs. After the nightmare I have been though with these watches, it has to be able to go back if its junk IMO)
7) IF it runs android wear, it must run 2.0+, however I am not insisting it be an android wear watch.
8) If it doesn't run android wear, there must be a google authenticator app available for it.
9) It must either have at least one programmable button (programmable button to launch an app) OR have a way to launch an app very quickly. Lets say with less then 2 seconds of work. I map this button to my authenticator app (see #8) because I use it often.
10) Must run at a decent speed. I find the zen watch crazy slow. I am not used to it taking at times 5-10 seconds to open an app.
Things I would like:
1) I kinda like Android wear. The selection of apps seems quite nice, and having google assistant right on the watch seems pretty awesome.
2) An extended battery life. Maybe I was spoiled by my pebble, and my 5-7 day battery life, but I would really like that, if its even available.
3) Color screen. Not really a need, but would be nice to have.
4) Decent selection of apps.
5) The ability to use my watch to take/receive calls, and actually use the watch as a speaker phone. Via bluetooth of course, I am not expecting it to work standalone without a phone.
So maybe I have been spoiled by my Pebble, and ran into a decent watch that just works, and works for my needs. I understand its possible that a watch that meets my needs (other then the pebble) just doesn't exist, and if thats the case, just tell me so. I am willing to accept that an an answer.
Before I end, I want to thank those of you that actually took the time to read my post, as it is a rather long one. And I want to thank those that took a few seconds to think about my needs and what may be available/useful to me. And a special thank you in advance to those that take the time to actually reply.
Am I missing something here or was everything about this launch misleading
I picked up the Gen 5 today. Google assistant does not talk to me. Only shows results on screen. And the battery modes are no where to be found.
I had a software update when I finished loading everything and no difference.
What am I missing??
I got one as well. Assistant talks to me just like it is supposed to. Do you have the speaker enabled under settings (swipe down from main screen)? Same with battery modes... they are right there next to the speaker icon when you swipe down. Icon is of a battery with a plus in the middle. Great watch so far, absolutely love it!

Which one is the speaker. Are you talk about the sound icon. That's for notifications, is it not?
I ended up finding the battery modes
Regardless. The battery life has been horrendous for me.
On my Gen 4 I would end my day from 630am till 8pm and have 60% left.
My Gen 5. I started at 8 ended at 630pm and had 10%
The speaker icon is essentially all sounds or mute AFAIK. Also I second that the battery is terrible. Started the day at 06:00, been in high power save and died at about 13:30! Seriously hope they can address this in the next update

Ya that is on and nothing from assistant. Only shows results on the screen. Does not talk back to me. So something is going on
I just got the new gen 5 watch for few days, I have issue on phone calls using the watch. While call in or pick up the call have too much chopping and distortion. I tried reboot the watch once and it work normal but after that it came back. Any pone have this issue? Or is only my watch is faulty?

I think it's a software issue and needs an update. Hopefully fossil is quick to address.
Imo
They did a piss poor job of this launch.
Software has major issues and bugs are running rampant. Speaker call issues. Battery life issues. Assistant not talking back to you. Battery modes hidden and not in settings.
There are some serious issues they need to resolve and fast

I wanted to look for it too, since spotify is still not able to offline listen music from watch.
Got the Gen 5 too. Pretty poor battery life.
Anybody know other than putting the watch everytime to "DND" or "Silent" how to avoid the charging sound when plugged and unplugged? I don't mind if somebody know the value in System / Global or Secure and write it via ADB.
P.s.: First Fossil, pretty poor watch (unstable). Same here, speaker glitch when talking, Google assistant talks when he wants and awful battery life. My Lemfo China watch was better...
Thank's
In order for the assistant to work properly, I had to set the language to English US. This needed to be done on the phone's setting and the on the google assistant settings through the wear OS app. For some reason setting it to English Australia cripples the assistant. Not an ideal fix, since it switches all apps on my phone and watch to imperial instead of metric. I have contacted support. It may be that you're seeing the same issue with Canada?
In terms of the speaker for calls, there is a known issue with the choppy sound and requiring a reboot to fix. They said they're working on a fix and will be rolling out a software fix soon.
As for the battery life. The different modes trade off functionality for slightly extended battery life. The battery life is not great, but I can stretch it to a full day. It took some time for it to settle down though after all the software updates and syncing of apps. It was terrible on day one and two.
Ciao I will try asking here as well since this is a Fossil Gen 5 specific thread.
The ok google detection is on.
if I keep pressed the centre button the Google assistant is launched on the watch and I can talk to the watch to give commands.
If I say "ok google" to the watch the assistant is launched on the phone and not on the watch, so I have to talk to the phone while I'd like talk to the watch.
Brightness issue??
I'm planing to buy the watch, but there are many reports that brightness of the watch is too low even compared to gen 4 or older Moto 360 or Huawei watch 1. Is it really the case,??
Can that be fixed from software side??
Also they have not specified display glass quality.. I mean gorilla,,sapphire..? ....
Can anyone help in clarifying
Thanks
I like the new Generation sure the battery life in custom mode with everything on maybe a bit worse than Generation 4 but at the end of the day I get easy 30% .... fooling around with it a bit more too because it is new.

Never been that happy but when I wake the watch so far I always have been able to read it.
"Kind of the trade of the brighter the display the worse the battery life"
Glass not sure ? Never has a problem or scratches with the Generation 4
Different story for me, it's my hmmm 9th or 10th smartwatch, the Gen5 for me is a disappointment. The quality is not just there for now. MAYBE if they fix the bugs but other than putting the speaker to off, you can't quiet the watch when finishing charging. Also, the speaker distort a lot and waiting for a firmware update so for now, it's being returned to Fossil. Will wait for the Vivoactive 4s, the upcoming Diesel that might have a newer firmware and maybe the Galaxy Watch 2.
Really I must have got the one working watch.
I pull the watch out the charger at 7am and at 11pm I still have 70%....
Always on display, I turned off nothing including NFC, WiFi, GPS, bluetooth
My way of thinking is if it is not connected it is not working.
I read people can not find the battery modes ?
Swipe from the top down, what do you think the battery icon is for ?
Just for kicks I may one day see just how long I can make the battery last....
The watch is extremely fast and responsive.
For me there is no other choices, Galaxy Watch .... no apps, no Google Pay.
If you are not using a Samsung Device ??
The Fossil Generation 4 I guess is not bad, no speaker...... but most people in this thread are complaining about the speaker anyway. However I do agree above all the speaker can use some work.
for everyone who is facing google assistant issue i also had similar issues that GA doens't use to talk to me but then i came to know that you need to change the language of your mobile follow this
settings -> system -> languages & input -> languages and add English(UK) or English(US) to the list and keep it on first.
and the one which will be on first should be the language set in your watch as well. the reboot your watch and voila you can talk and get response from GA
hope this fixes your issue.
and with the calling issue and speaker issue its a major wear os bug on july 2019 patch. we will have to wait for new patch to be launched.
Have a good one
Wear Media for Wear OS
able to upload music to my Gen 5 but noticed a considerable lag when accessing the app on the watch. It takes a while for all the albums to show up and then it takes 15 seconds sometimes to have the first song of an album to show up, which is necessary to start playing. Anyone have a similar experience?
Guys, is it possible to sideload apps to gen 5?
