There's an option under Wanam's Xposed module to keep the device status as official even after root and all, however not sure if it works or not.
You reset your /data partition... root is in /system. To fix this you need to try unroot in SuperSU or use Oding to flash the original FW
Hello. I have GALAXY S5 - SM-G900F Lollipop. I wanted to root it and i used Kingo. It said that root was successful i even had superSU app, but i couldn't open it and when i installed app that i know needs root access i didn't get prompted to allow it. So after some checking i concluded that root was not successful and wanted to revert it with kingo again. It said that S5 was not rooted and i couldn't root it again (was getting failed this time).
Then i wanted to do factory reset to 4.4.2 via mobile but each time i would select that option phone would just freeze. I booted into recovery TWRP that i installed previously and did hard wipe. After that i was without ROM, and installed lollipop using this tutorial (/watch?v=r_ifFnj9tbo). Everything was fine but i lost TWRP and was with stock recovery.
I wanted to root phone again using different method (/watch?v=iBNGeppOzGI) but when i installed TWRP via odin (i got success and phone rebooted as last time i installed it) and tried to boot into TWRP using button combinations phone would just load standard recovery instead. I also tried to install CWM, same results. Success message, phone reboots and it still loads stock recovery so i'm stuck now. Anyone has any idea how to install TWRP now?
Anyone got any idea, don't know what to do here. Any help appreciated.
Could you paragraph your post please, it hurts my brain trying to read it like that

S4 i9505 not rooting through any apps
Hi, I recently flashed cm12.1 on my S4 i9505 and its working fine.
I need a working GApps package, I tried flashing 2 PA GApps(mini and micro), updated version which is TK GApps(mini), and also cleared calvik cache before and after flashing them as some forums suggested, but none of them worked and all Google apps keep crashing as soon as I boot in CM even the keyboard.
The 2nd issue: My phone is not rooted anymore and I tried a couple of rooting android and windows apps but none seem to root my phone, fails everytime. The errors which I faced are below.
Framaroot: "Your device seems not vulnerable to exploit included in Framaroot"
iRoot (android): "GT- i9505 No Root Permission"
iRoot (windows): "Device is connecting
eRoot (windows): Stuff written in chinese and no root button available as mentioned in different forums"
KingoRoot: "Root Strategy unavailable, just try it"
TowelRoot: Stuck on make it ra1n and after a while "towelroot stopped responding"
Root Checker: "Root checker has stopped working"
3rd Issue: I tried installing playstore apk till I get my GApps working, but it crashes everytime I open it, any solutions?
Thanks

1. Gapps: http://opengapps.org/
2. You cannot loose root acces on CM. It's impossible. You just need to activate it in developer settings and after that flash Supersu (optional). All the apps etc you tried is completely obsolete.
3. See post number 1.

I already have root access set to "apps and ADB" in developer options. is this what you're referring to?

Yes.
I would suggest performing a full wipe then flash CM and then the Gapps.
or you can try to just flash Supersu and your root will probably be back.

I tried your suggestion, did a full wipe and flashed CM successfully through TWRP, the flashed GApps successfully, and SuperSU also, but just before rebbot, TWRP asked for "fix root" and when i swiped for yes, the reboot brought me back to Samsung logo and never rebooted CM... waited for about 15 mins before pulling the battery out...
I tried to flash CM and a stock firmware through odin then and now it says "Firmware upgrade failed, try KIES...... " odin fails to flash anything and gives error "No PIT Partition", even if I try to flash PIT files (tries 4 different files for i9505), all failed....
now I can only access download mode and lost TWRP too...
help please!
Install a stock ROM through Download Mode. This will get you back to a working state. From there get TWRP and then install CM12.1. And this time around, follow instructions! At no point were you EVER told you had to fix root, and as you found out, fixing root removes root access.
Honestly mate I was on CM for a while with my i9505 intl before deciding to try something else. I recommend this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2557353 . either the latest 5.1 or previous 5.0.1 release, they are both rock solid and there's great support for it too. They've even packaged cm addons as optional flash files.

Sorry forgot to mention it's a Google play edition so rest assured your gapps come included.

Disclaimer: I do not take responsibility for any damage caused to your phone. Everything currently stored in Private Mode will be deleted.
I have Private Mode working on stock 6.0.1 rooted N910T (T-Mobile) Marshmallow after using these steps. Your results may vary.
First off, your device should be rooted (duh) and have the Xposed Framework installed.
1. Install Wanam Xposed for Android 5.x.x (Still works for Marshmallow)
2. Open Wanam Xposed, go to Security hacks and enable Disable Secure Storage
3. Activate and reboot.
OPTIONAL: Reboot directly to your custom recovery (with file manager) and continue with these steps. This avoids an extra reboot.
4. Delete the following items from /data.
/data/privatemode
/data/data/com.samsung.android.personalpage.service
/data/system/secure_storage/com.samsung.android.personalpage.service
/data/system/users/privatemode_edk_1000
5. Reboot to system
Private Mode fixed
I haven't tried uninstalling the Wanam Xposed module after this process, but I don't really need it anymore so I'll try it later. If you do please comment your results.
My S7 is rooted and it was running on Android Marshmallow and Private Mode was working fine on it. Then I wanted to update the software but I can't install Samsung's OTA updates because my phone is rooted so I downloaded the Nougat 7.0 firmware and updated my phone. but then after that when I tried to enable the private mode it says "failed to enable private mode. try again" I tried restarting my phone to clearing Private Mode's cache but nothing helps it's just as it is. Can someone please help me or at least tell me where those files are stored in the root folder? I have very important stuff in there and im not willing to lose it!
same issue here. I encountered this issue when I flashed a custom kernel (super kernel 3.18.70).
before flashing the kernel my device was rooted and I flashed twrp recovery using Odin. everything worked fine until I flashed super kernel. but still I'm not sure if it is kernel or I made a mistake somewhere else.
anyone knows a workaround?
