Hey Guys
So I am having a very unique problem. I can charge my phone perfectly fine when it is connect it to the wall sockets. I put the mini usb plug completely into the phone and it charges fine. But when I connect to the my computer (mac, PC and ubuntu) it doesn't charge. If I plug the cable completely into the phone it doesn't charge. But if I partially plug it in, then it charges, but the computer doesn't recognize the sandisk card or my phones memory (so I can't navigate through the file directory).
It all started when I tried to charge my phone through the car stereo USB in my car.
Please if anybody has a solution to this problem, I would really appreciate it.
Thank you All.
Were you using the official car charger (that came with the phone)?
Maybe you using a low voltage/deffective USB port on your PC (mine has a 5 in 1 Card Reader with an extra USB port that is cheap and doesn't charge my iPod, for example)...
Sent from my Milestone 2 XDA App
Try different port or get a replacement for your cord.
Just got my A500. It has a lot of cool ports, including the proprietary charging plug. On other devices it is possible to use the micro USB cable to connect to the PC and to charge the device via a wall charger.
So my question is this. Can I use a micro-usb charger to charge my A500 via the micro-usb slot?
Not on the A500. Takes too much juice to charge the big batteries. You have to charge through the plug .

If your connect both your pogo cable and your mico usb cable to your pc they won't charge at the same time. Drivers at the kernel level detect that both are connected to the tablet and only let one charge to prevent power draw overload. In this case it would charge from the pogo charger as it can recognize that the pogo charger is delivering a safe amount of power while simultaneously cutting down on charging time. You can however connect your pogo charger and have the tablet charge while the micro usb cable is connected to transfer files to and from your tablet, use adb etc. Let me know if you still have questions.

I would double check that comment. I have a pogo plug and OTG cable with Ethernet adapter or SD card reader attached. The icon that indicates the device is charging shows BUT it is not actually charging. I confirmed this under both Android 4.3.x and 4.2.2

Very interesting, the point I mentioned above is as least theoretically what is supposed to happen when plugging on both charging sources. Just to clarify your device doesn't charge at all when you have the pgoo plug and OTG cable with Ethernet adapter or SD card reader attached?

In theory yes but Google didn't include it in the Android rom. A developer for the old Nexus 7 did add the capability but never for the Nexus 10. I doubt very much that the next version of the Nexus 10 will include a pogo plug connection.
Hi guys, so I recently installed a Nexus 7 into my car however i have a question regarding the charging as my car is sat there all week not being used. Obviously I've got a OTG cable, would it be possible to charge the tablet from powerbank using male to male USB cable, as the micro USB is plugged into the loom. My plan is to let it charge when using the vehicle then if needed plug the powerbank in once a month to bring back up to 100%, as I cant find a male micro USB into 2 Female micro USB's Please help
