Any stock version you pick will be updated OTA to the latest version, so don't worry about which one you should choose.

Thanks! Finally!
Someone tried to root this by CF Auto Root?
Any other ideas?
Thank you been waiting forever, its a great help to have all on same OS version.
CWM AutoRoot seems to work, but be aware of KNOX flag... and if you update to 4.4.2, with new bootloader, you will not be able to downgrade to 4.2.2 again (in a stock way).

Use the cf-auto-root... after reboot go to play store and update the supersu. Disable knox when you got the message from supersu.

Hi, can you let me know what steps you followed for installing this on the US model? Did it wipe your data? Many thanks.

Just download the zip file, unzip, Open Odin 3.09, Select the file in the AP slot in Odin, and go.
When it finished, everything was still there and it's just fine sofar. Everything looks like it does in the 5100 version.
Before I saw this thread... There are a bunch of peeps installing this firmware and are falsely reporting improvements.
Please be advised, that the comments given by the OP are hearsay and are not fact.
At this time 4.2.2 Stock firmware with Xposed 2.6 and proper setups is about the same speed wise as 4.4.2.
As for battery... 4.4.2 won't beat 8 hours with streaming video, and if any small improvement will probably be with apps hibernation. Wireless printing works on all Androids, and full screen as well. SD card is best served by 4.2.2, though some improvements are being made to allow such function with 4.4.2.
4.4.2 is too buggy with apps and what not for me to be happy with such an upgrade. Gosh, it took 4 months since owning my 4110 and 4100 to get apps that function well with 4.2.2. I can imagine another year or so for 4.4.2.
You can root 4.4.2 without KNOX flag... though many are too misled about how to root, and are using old root tools, not the latest and greatest.
Just hate to see someone blindly move to 4.4.2 without really understanding pros and cons. Seems like peeps are wanting what others have on newer devices. There is a reason Windows XP users scoff at upgrading. Not that I am pro 4.2.2, just find it more useful to my expectations than the upgrade, one being SD card compatibility... over 7,000 MP3 songs and video, with mapped system folders to SD.

If anyone could just link me to a guide, I'd be appreciative. Once I downgrade the android version, I'm assuming that Towelroot is my best option?
Just look in the general forum all the info you need is there. Do a little leg work on your own instead of having someone else point out what is so obviously available.

Hello guys!
Just a question. A friend has a n9500 with custom rom lollipop 5.0 based on xxugbob6 (audax L)
Now he needs to use some exposed modules and so he wants to downgrade to any version of android 4.3.x or similar.
I know that after bootloader update (lollipop) it's impossibile turn back to kitkat or JB ones, isn't it?
Can anyone help me linking a guide or a complete rom (for deep clean) to do this, if it is possible?
Thanks a lot

I downgraded my Nexus 7 to KitKat 4.4.4 and it's running much smoother.
I have just tried to install PayPal app but it says it's not compatible with my device. Is that a Nexus thing or a KitKat thing? If it's just KitKat does anyone know where I can get the apk from? Or which version will work with 4.4.4?
Thanks
Stuart
It says the minimum version is 4.0.3 so it's shouldn't be a "KitKat" thing. That said APKMirror is also hosting the most recent version. https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/paypal-mobile/paypal/
