As per title... is a kernel for cm 12 compatible for 12.1?? i know its a dumb question i just dont want to risk as 12 and 12.1 might have different codes??? or i am wrong???
Why would you want use a cm12 kernel in a cm12.1 ROM?

Don't think so. There is the KT kernel which works on 5.1.
The CM12.1 use Alucard's kernel. But his thread was last updated in february.

Instead of asking it, you could have just flashed it in 30 seconds and tried it out for yourself if it works.

To go back here and write "I flashed CM12 kernel on CM12.1 and now I have problems. What can I do?"
To the OP: don't do it... There's a why if there are kernels for both versions and not an unique

Hey,
first of all my specs:
Note 3 (SM-N9005) international LTE (hlte)
C-ROM with stock Kernel
TWRP 2.7.2.0
so... whenever I try to flash a custom Kernel my screen stays black after the Samsung Bootlogo showed up.
My steps are:
Create Nandroid
Flash Kernel which is confirmed to work with this version of the rom
wipe cache/dalvik
reboot
Anyone else has this problem? Or even solved it already?
Any help would be really appreciated!
cheers

Yep. Others already confirmed that kernel (lean 3.1)to work with the latest C-ROM.

C-RoM meaning the 7.1 version? @aways version?
You can only use lean 3.1 or temasek 3.76 without black screen. As soon as I read this thread I knew this was it. Don't know about the people who replied above....
C-rom Kang by Vikas wil allow for use of Lean 3.7 make sure you are downloading the HLTE AOSP version not the touchwiz versions.
Thank you all so much guys! Finally it worked!! Looks like it was TWRP that didn't let me flash another kernel... With latest Philz CWM, C-ROM 7.1 and temasek 3.76 it worked like a charm! @mods solved --> close please

Didnt this the nightly with the new Touch update? I read that this causes sensor problems. I think there is another version to be released with the 28th nightly (tonight)
Just update to 28

I am on rooted Stock 38R ROM. My wifi setting broke after installed this kernel, but the kernel did have much more improvement over stock 38R kernel.
Is there anyway to install the kernel without breaking wifi? Thanks!

Let me guess, you were coming back to this kernel from Franco?
Also, to OP, are you going to keep maintaining this thread? Maybe having a regular (like weekly) updates or so?

Hmmm... I'm not that sure, but I guess there are some differences in the kernel between the standard CM11 and CM11S. Not too sure whether it is a good idea to flash kernel from nightly into 11S... How's your experience so far btw?

Why not ?
The device boot fine and all hardware are working fine
If was not compatibility the device could even boot
Which hardware are different to nightly????

If you see other custom kernel pages, usually they would have different versions for CM11 and CM11S... So I would assume that there are inherent differences between them. But if it is working fine for you, then great! Maybe I'll try it myself too

Reflash (dirty) your ROM first to restore WiFi firmware
I dont see any AOSP ROMs for this version which is crazy because its the same insides as the 900f.
Any explanation?
Thank you in advance.

@kriskovski stop spamming! You said it yourself, the G900S has same hardware as G900F so go try out any ROM that is for the G900F. Make a nandroid backup before that ofcourse
I tried with: BlissPop-v1.7-klte-OFFICIAL-20150113-2021 , FUSION-GALAXYS5-LP5.0-AOSP-12.01.2015 and pac_klte_LP.Alpha.0_20141212-181652 in clockworkMOD recovery it says that it supports klte ... and mine is kltecs or something like that and its not supported.

You can flash CM 12 i think. Someone reported that it's working. You may also wanna change to TWRP if you're gonna flash CM.
So guys! My patience is gone now to see cm12.1! I don't care about fingerprint and Laser auto focus (Kidding I care) but whatever! I'm thinking to flash Cm12.1 with boeffela kernel! So will it work flawlessly?? Has anyone tried cm12.1 is it good?? Should I flash?

When I switched to CM 12.1 my first thought was also about flashing Boeffla kernel.
But I decided to try native CM kernel for a few days and surprisingly I was not disappointed
Nice, fast kernel, battery friendly.
So there is no need for me to flash Boeffla on CM 12.1
Boeffla kernel is not compatible with CM and he won't make a Kernel for CM until there is an official CM rom

Hi Chetan, just wondering which version of CM you are using, and how you find it (in particular photo quality). I'm very tempted to flash it myself, but have just started using Boeffla Kernel with OOS, so wish to give that a bit of a go...

I think it is same rom, just with built in nikolaa's kernel.
But why that update isn't uploaded in Rox's thread?
maybe it's not for daily use - has some bugs witch don't improve for now 'couse meybe we will on CM13 soon
Oh okay, thanks
that rom is just upstream
its n1kolaa's build with source updates I think
anyway I flashed it and its quite good I think
I have been using it now for a couple of days and I can't really complain
PS. I flashed renix kernel right after rom
