Hi, I just upgraded to the latest verizon build and lost root. I know there are a lot of root tutorials out there but am unsure if they apply to this build. Is there a tutorial out there specifically for this build? Thanks.

Next week I am going to be receiving an Atrix 4G (ATT) running the stock (Froyo) to replace my broken Inspire 4G. Anyway, I plan on upgrading to CM9 immediately as soon as I receive the phone. After reading through tons of tutorials on XDA, rootzwiki, etc., I realized that most of the roms depend on certain firmware versions mainly the Gingerbread build to build from. I am familiar with adb and other android functions but I am mainly curious as to what the exact method would be from original stock? Do I need to upgrade the official firmwares in steps and then root, unlock bootloader, install clockworkmod, install rom, etc. or can I just go from Froyo to CM9 with the usual methods?
I have rooted and installed many custom roms but motorola has a few extras enabled like a locked bootloader. I am just curious as the correct starting point as I have seen many different methods for this device. If anyone has any advice, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks
I think you should upgrade to the latest firmware 4.5.141 then use the 2.3.4 method to unlock the boot loader. Heres a thread with someone who unlocked their phone on 2.3.6 and installed the cm9:

I think the method you mentioned above should be fine….'upgrade the official firmwares in steps and then root, unlock bootloader, install clockworkmod, install rom'

I have read the following root tutorial for F320K.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448887
However, I afraid the different version will break my device or malfunction...
ANDROID VERSION:
5.0.1
VERSION NUMBER:
LRX21Y
SOFTWARE VERSION
F320S30E
I just want to root, install TWRP and flash custom ROM and fast charging, nothing more~
Thx a lot!
does anyone know?
Is there any means to downgrade from lollipop to stock Kitkat or jellybean?
This is a new phone that i just purchased
Thx a lot
were you able to downgrade?
Hi all, just acquired a 900T on 4.4.2 UVU1CNK2. Planning on installing CM13 but first a few questions:
1) Should I OTA update before rooting and installing CM to update the baseband version?
2) If not - what is the easiest way to root on this version? (I've read about towelroot, through odin, etc - just wondering what is the most up to date way)
Thanks!
If you want to install CM13, I think you have to fully upgrade your device to 5.1.1 to get the new modem and boot loader.
Hi, is this even possible on an ASUS_T00P running Lollipop WW_12.4.5.58 ? I've seen threads where you need to downgrade it to Kitkat first before you can unload the bootloader and then root it. Was wondering if it was possible doing it straight from Lollipop. All the other threads which say you can do this seem to mention a different version of firmware on the phone. Thanks.
I couldn't find a solid answer to this question anywhere. I have a stock axon 7 A2017UV1.0.0B29 build and wanted to root the phone, but also wanted to upgrade to Nougat b15. Would I have better luck rooting first on b29 and then upgrading or should I attempt to root after the upgrade is complete? I'm not really looking to install any custom Rom at the moment and would just like to have a rooted device. Many of the tutorials bundle root in with a custom ROM which is part of the reason why I'm having so much trouble searching for a solution.

Just find a guide and follow it until you have unlocked the bootloader and installed TWRP. That's all you need to have root.
After that you just flash Magisk or supersu
