There were some threads and posts on this before, but it seems like no one really knows for sure.
Are there any risks in charging your phone in android, especially for long periods of time? Some people were saying that there may be some driver/kernal issues which might cause an overchage the battery.
Anyone know anything about this?

I thought the fear was that it caused data corruption of the android install?
Either way I have had no tproblems so far (Original battery)... the back of the device warms up slightly during charging and then coold down when 'complete'.
Now with mattc 1.6b, even the green 'charge complete' LED is working...even though it did turn green at 99% lol.
But it never use to turn green at all for me.
Either way, so far Ive had zero problems that I can attribute to charging while android is running.
same here , i do sometimes whenever i do sleep , let my phone charge
in winmo , but i never had issues with charging in android
I have had no problems what so ever either, and I have been charging it in Android for the last 3 weeks or so

the latest zimages really fixed all battery charging issues , iam getting the green light and the battery reaches 100%
The latest shubcraft build works well for me. Earlier builds would stop charging at 93% but now goes to 100%. It seems like the more recent builds charge more quickly as well.

awesome. I'm running shubcraft 1.4d and the 8/24 zimage, I will be charging regularly in android from now on.

Ditto, as of the 8/24 zimage.
Just to add to the posts here, I have been charging in Android since I first put in on, each night I plug it up and unplug in the morning. I havent noticed any degradation of the battery or any other ill affects.
Think you might have confused a HTC with a Nokia..

sick I know
I charge in Android and it works well. I need to solve the battery drain issue when I am a heavy user of it.
Hi guys,
I wasn't sure if this would be better here or in the apps section. I apologize if it needs to be moved.
Yesterday morning I rooted my TF and installed Prime 1.5. I had read that it was good to calibrate the battery after flashing a new ROM so I installed Battery Calibration from the market. This morning when I took it off the charger the battery was stuck at 98%. I had not actually run Battery Calibration, I had just installed it and opened it to look around.
Also, this was the first time that I charged it since rooting so I'm not sure if it being stuck at 98% is related to the app or to the flashing of Prime.
Has anyone ever seen this before? If so, does anyone have any suggestions for a fix? If I reflash or do a factory reset could that possibly remedy the problem?
Thanks in advance!
Drain the battery till it turns off the fully charge it.

Either that or you've struck gold by finding a battery that never discharges past 98%
I had the same problem just after flashing the 8.4.4.5 stock, wipping battery stats in the recovery(ClockWorkMod) solved it =)

Thanks for the quick replies!
Does it matter at what point in the battery cycle that I do this? In other words, does it need to be fully charged, fully drained, etc.?

Hehe, sadly it's not stuck in that direction. It drains just fine but won't go higher than 98%.
I wouldn't worry about it. Charging to 100% is bad for the battery anyway.

Hi, I have a problem, I'm on InvictaOS 4.15-hal3 and I'm not having fast charge, it only happens on this Rom, the stock works normal, lineage, rr and some more too, is it due to something? Thanks
(I'm on the last elementalx version)

How can you say it doesn't work on that ROM only ?
It's discussed a lot time before,
- use "Ampere" app to know current rate, and temperature of your device.
- temperature shouldn't cross ~44℃.

Check if it works without modifications like ex kernel. As mentioned before: it's never a rom problem.
nope hal-3 has fast charging. however invicta os at starting has problems with fast charging this okay at the beginning. give it sometime to rest. and check the heating problem. check if your phone is above 45 or near it. fast charging stops at that temp. also could you tell how you restored apps to your device, cuz my device would heat a lot and fast charging would not happen, iff i restored it via flashable twrp made with the help of titanium backup
Look
I downloaded Turbotoast and it's recognizing the fast charger but the cellphone doesn't charge rapidly

Let your battery run down to 20-30% and then try again. You're seeing slow charging as your battery is nearly full in those screenshots. Thus, your device is tricklecharging to protect the battery and your device. That's normal behaviour across many batteries/devices with batteries.
Drain your device battery and use Ampere to monitor charging. If Turbocharging doesn't kick in (and/or you don't see 2000+ mA in Ampere), report back with screenshots and details.

It may be due to excessive heating of the device
So coming from a LG v30 to this I been experiencing high battery drain when leaving the phone idle (screen off) at night. I had left it at 24% and woke up with it having 7%. Anyone else having this issue. On the v30 I could leave it at 5% and it'll hold that charge until the next morning. Any ideas
You may have an app preventing deep sleep I left mine on the other night and only lost a few percent overnight

Checked and says system was drain 24% since I slept
No idle drain issues for me. Started at 80% BTW. Must be an app or something on your end.
Are you rooted? I noticed Google News will occupy a lot of my battery even without using it. I've uninstalled it and have been okay ever since. Thing is a beast with battery.
To me it has to be an app issue. I can't believe how great my standby life has been so far.

Would definitely recommend a factory reset. Rogue app maybe? I'm surprised to have someone run into this issue. Hope you can get it squared off and get the full battery potential of the device. Nice to see you here from the v30 forums! ?

Wasn't trying to do that but why not, not like I haven't done this plenty of times with the v30(rom switching) ?
Likely unrelated to the ROM (hadesRom 6.0), but my S8 has been having weird battery issues as in almost instantly draining once reaching ~30-40% battery and just shutting off. Up until the point battery drain is normal if not better than it has been before, but this is still a major issue.
Any ideas/help?

Mine also. Once it reached below 30%, it will suddenly drop to 10% even on idle. It's been more than a year since i got this phone, and i just recently rooted it and install a new custom ROM. is it because of the battery itself? degrading?
Good day.
A friend of mine had an similar problem and solved it by disabling the system app called "ARCore". It's an google augmented reality plataform app. Try disabing or update the app.

Maybe it's also just an error with battery percentage display, but battery performance seems pretty poor then.
I'll try disabling/freezing ARCore and see if this changes anything ^^

This is very common sign when battery is going bad when u start to have these drops . Logically battery should be replaced .
