WiFi Issues - "Searching for WiFi networks" - All solutions failed - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys
I have Nexus 4, stock Rom and kernel [ 5.1 ], rooted.
My wifi hasn't been working for a long time. But it is a very peculiar problem. I can see the wifi networks in the dropdown quick settings for wifi but when i click on one of the networks and it goes to to the man Wifi page, it just gets stuck on "Searching for Wifi networks"

Now, since I can obviously see the networks, I have ruled that a hardware fault.
Further, these are the steps I have already taken to fix the problem without any luck -
1) Flashed latest radio
2) Flashed custom 4.4 Rom
3) Flashed Franco's kernel for 5.1
4) Clean flash of 5.1
Please suggest solutions.
Thank you in advance.

ZTE Racer WiFi Tethering

*Please ignore the forum / or move the thread, I put it here because these two devices have the SAME specs hardware minus the screen and camera.*
I know this is a common problem but I just can't find a solution. It happens on the ZTE Racer too.
The problem is: Any tethering app drops when I lock the screen. The only app that doesn't do this is "Barnacle WiFi Tether", but it creates an ad-hoc network, which doesn't work on phones
I'm using CM7 Nightly ported from the ZTE Blade.
Here's what happens:

You're going to need a more recent build of CM7 with a 2.6.35 kernel version & the new wifi driver to fix it.

Wi-Fi problems Lollipop

Hi,
before Lollipop, no problems with Wi-Fi...
Now, after many factor reset and these advanced Wi-Fi settings (

}
; ), I have these 2 problems:
1) only one Wi-Fi saved, when I go out coverage and come back, autoconnection not works. I have to connect manual or disabling and activatign Wi-Fi.
Autoconnect functions only if I have Passpoing flag on (!!!)
2)When I turn OFF Wi-Fi, in the battery status screen, battery bar is always full. If I turn off phone and then turn ON with Wi-Fi OFF, Wi-Fi bar is blank.
Thank you for any help

Nougat WiFi only works in safe mode

i have updated to android N and have a problem with WIFI staying connected to a network or getting message " connected but no internet" i have booted into safe mode and sure enough, wifi stays on, i have tried trial and error process , deleting apps i have installed with no luck. next step was to factory reset, AGAIN wifi connects/disconnects.
i had a similar problem with 6.0.1 , vary slow wifi speeds compared to other devices, had to roll back to 5.1.1
some help would be much appreciated.
Make sure keeping wifi on while sleep is enabled. Also, make sure that aggressive wifi to cellular handover is disabled in developer options

if i enter my login now, i cant even hit the connect button cause its greyed out.

You may have the wrong vendor.img installed. Update it with the correct one associated to your custom ROM. You should be good to go after.

No LTE after MM update

Upgraded my phone (RU firmware) to MM/6.0: Before upgrading, i had the following baseband/build:

"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
( i may have had another 5.0 upgrade since but don't think the baseband changed...)
After upgrade, i have the following:
As part of this, i seem to have lost LTE functionality (i've gone in to the '*#*#4636#*#* menu' and verified that LTE is enabled) - i have a YD201, the same baseband but don't seem to be able to find LTE signal now (even though i had no problems before upgrade). Anyone else experiencing a similar problem?
Thanks in advance!
For anyone interested, the issue here was that my default APN changed on the upgrade to Marshmallow. Spent some time debugging with my mobile operator to figure this out...unfortunately yotaphone support didn't do much to help...
