[Hardware]Charging issues? - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My brother's nexus 7 charges very slowly, if at all. I recently replaced the charging port (needed doing). I have checked all connections from the battery to the charging port to the motherboard. The charging port is fine, and so is the charger. Any other ideas? It does list as charging the whole time when plugged in, so it must be getting at least some charge.

[Q] USB charging issue

When i charge my phone from a wall charger it charges perfectly all the way up to 100%. However if i charge it using my pc from its usb port using a usb cable it usually charges upto only 14% and then gets stuck at it, charging is also very slow compared to charging with the wall charger and i do also sometimes get random reboots when charging it with my pc using usb. So how do i fix this issue as i do not currently own a wall charger of my own and have to borrow it from my cousin
Problem solved
so i figured out what the problem was and now it's charging all the way upto a 100%.
instead of plugging the usb cable using a usb extension or on my casing's USB port i plugged it directly into the USB 2.0 port at the back of my mother board and it started charging normally again . no random reboots etc. So please close the thread

Phone says it is charging but it is not actually charging

Last night I charged my phone with the standard charging cable and the phone said it was charging. This morning I woke up and it had not charged at all. It still says it is charging but no power is going to the device. Any thoughts on how to fix this? Thanks!
Edit: Wireless charging is also not working.
I would try to charge the phone with another micro-usb cable without changing the stock 1.8Amps charger. It's very common for those cables to get damaged after some time of usage and not deliver enough current for the phone to charge.
That did not seem to do anything. The fact that wireless charging also isn't working has me worried.

[Q] Phone won't charge properly

I'm at a complete loss. The other day my phone was charging fine. I have the original charger for my s5 and I went to visit my family just a town over. When I got there my phone would not charge correctly. It would charge extremely slow. I'm back home now and while charging I'm still losing battery percentage. I downloaded battery monitor and it says plugged in discharging and the mA flow says -758mA right now but it keeps fluctuating. A while ago it was actually in the + but that was a while ago. At my work there is a charger that is also a 2.1Amp charger and it charges my phone fine. I understand it is my charger but I have used a plethora of other combinations of usb chargers and ac adapters but I'm getting the same result. All these ac ports are also 2.1 and I have another usb cable from my s4 so it should work. What can I do about my chargers to fix this issue. I have a voltmeter but am not to apt on how to use it correctly. How can I see if my port is actually outputting the 2.1? If I can find this out I can deduce that it is my cables and not the ports. I will provide any further information requested.

Dead charging circuit?

Hi everyone;
I've having an interesting time with my nexus 7 (2012 wifi 32gb).
Before I left on vacation I couldn't get the thing to charge. Looking at the usb port I thought it had become to damaged to make a good connection. So while I was away I ordered a new port assembly. Installed that and still no charging.
Oh the battery cell voltage had gone down to 2.2V so it's in a sleep mode. No problem used a proper lion charger to trickle charge it back to life then further to about 3.8V.
At that point it boots up though the optimization took the charge down to 2% so couldn't do more testing but clearly it worked just fine. However the thing won't charge. Plugging it in to USB it does detect the connection but does not draw any current (as shown by a usb voltage/current monitor). It will show the charge screen, go through 3 cycles of the battery filling animation then shut off.
I check and the voltage is getting from the usb cable into the connector. I traced the ribbon cable from the IO board up to the motherboard and at the other end I also get a nice 5V reading. Clearly the connection from the USB to the device is being made no problem.
At this point I am thinking that maybe I blew the charging circuit. When I was orignally trying to get it to charge before leaving I was applying all kinds of stress to the connector to get it to charge and there was a few times where I think I shorted it (usb monitor showed >3A and the device reset).
Anybody have another theory?
At this point I can't really use it as charging the cell externally is dangerous and not convenient. At this point from what I have seen with my testing and on here if I want to use it I would have to apply 5V to the battery connector (sans battery) which I haven't tried yet.

What explains no charging when charge port is good (brand new)?

The charge port of my son's 6P stop charging. Since it was so "wiggly" that the USB-C charge cord would barely stay connected (suggesting to me that my son had been too rough in plugging-in and unplugging his charge cord until he broke the charge port), I decided to replace the daughterboard which has the charge port on it.
I ordered a new daughterboard, opened the phone and replaced the existing daughterboard with a brand new one. Now the charge cord fits snuggly. But it still doesn't charge.
The wide ribbon cable which runs down from the top of the battery area to the daughterboard is reconnected. The antenna lead is reconnected. All connections are snug. Still no charge.
Q. - What are the most likely failures that would explain this?
I wouldn't expect multiple components (like charge port and battery) to fail simultaneously. The original charge port was definitely worn out. What am I missing?
