Was wondering if somebody would be kind enough to post the Zattoo for Android TV app.? It was just released but I can't access the proper play store.
Zattoo TV App Live Television
Zattoo Europa AG - 10 April 2015
What's New
Initial version for Android TV
Current Version
Varies with device
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zattoo.player
I can't seem to download the APK using Evozi's 'APK Downloader'. My Z1 Compact (on 4.4.4) and Nexus 5 (on 5.1) still have v1.7.6 from November, with no update available from the Play Store. I don't have a Nexus Player so can't look at that version (I'm in the UK but I have my Overplay SmartDNS settings set on my DD-WRT Ubiquiti EdgeRouter Lite to spoof Zattoo Switzerland (with Recall)).
At the same time as the Android TV smart television operating system launches in Germany, Swiss-based internet TV service Zattoo is bringing out a live TV app for Android TV.

Hmmm, the Android TV app might not have Recall until the Nexus Player and Sony Android TVs are launched in Switzerland.
I installed Zattoo TV from tvaddons or superrepo repository on Kodi 14.2 Helix.

Updated
29 April 2015
Current Version
[2.0.5, on Nexus 4 running Android 5.1]
What's New
- We have re-developed the app from scratch to make it faster, nicer and simply better. We’d love to get your feedback: [email protected].
- Watching recordings (CH only) is even more fun with the new skip buttons and improved seeking
- As we have focused on improving the main parts, we have removed three less used features from this version: reminder function, categories, live preview
- This version requires Android 4.1 or newer

On the Android phone version, there is still no Rewind, Pause or Fast Forward on live programmes (which I believe are present in the iOS version 2.6.0, updated on 10th April 2015 and available from the Swiss iTunes Store: https://itunes.apple.com/ch/app/zattoo-live-fernsehen-sport/id369607618 ) and they have removed the ability to play the current programme from the start. Not sure if this has been addressed in the Android TV version: http://www.netzwoche.ch/de-CH/News/2015/04/29/Zattoo-fuer-Android-TV.aspx
I donwloaded https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zattoo.player with evozi and sideloaded it to my fire tv stick.
but the app is not optimized for a remote, just regular touch?!?! Any other ideas to get the nexus player version of Zattoo?
No updates on this thread lately. Does anyone have the Zattoo apk specifically for Android TV?
i would be interested in the android tv app from zatoo as well, the kody plugin works, but is more like a workround
for the last 24h now https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.keepinmind.youtv https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.keepinmind.youtv looks good

com.zattoo.player-2.5.1-290-androidphone.apk works with Recall when I have my DD-WRT router at home configured with Overplay SmartDNS settings, and Overplay's online configuration for Zattoo set to 'Switzerland'.
As for Android TV:
Jo' Chambers said:
Zattoo have already confirmed that Recall (Zattoo’s 7 day catch-up service) and Recordings will be available to subscribers on the Apple TV very soon, but until then iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad users will be able to use these features via airplay.
For more details on the new app, check out our full Zattoo review here, otherwise grab the new app now from the German or Swiss ATV app store. (Only available for the new 2015 model Apple TV).

Do you think this is an indication that the Catch-Up and Recording feature will come to the Fire TV version of the Zattoo App?

Hi Paul, I have no information from Zattoo whether this will indeed come to the Fire TV, but I suspect it will. My reasoning for this is that both the Amazon Fire TV and Android TV apps for Zattoo are the same, and both have recently been upgraded to include an EPG. This EPG right now does nothing except move back and forth through the days. So you can’t set recordings, nor can you use Recall. For that reason, I can’t see any actual point of the EPG except one – in that Zattoo plan to introduce Recordings and Recall in the near future.
Further evidence supporting this potential move is that Zattoo have just begun Recall in Germany, even if it is incredibly limited in the channels it supports. So there would be a reason to add Recall to the Fire TV app even though that is not available in Switzerland. Android TV (as in the Nexus Player for example) is available in Switzerland.
I can’t promise it Paul, but if I were to put a wager on it, I’d say that Recall at least will find its way onto both the Fire TV and Android TV platforms soon.

thanks for the good news / prediction
Sorry for posting in this old thread...
It seems that zattoo is finally working on an android tv app, which supports the replay function. At least they said they are in a support thread (sorry, i cant provide the link -> noob <10 posts rule)

Are you referring to this post from early March, when Zattoo Support suggested it would be available in the new few months?
Hallo Zattoo Team,

Could someone with access to the Swiss play store extract the APK and share it?
V1. 71 just hit the amazon Fire tv appstore, I was not able to simply upgrade, so I uninstalled and installed again.
It works great...

Can someone please post the apk?
I sadly can't download it...
Zattoo is not available on the Android TV app store outside of the supported regions.
If someone is living in an officially Zattoo supported region, could you please share the latest Android TV apk for Zattoo (version 1.7+)?
If your device is rooted you find the apk stored in /data/apps (you can use e.g. ES File Manager).
If your device is not rooted you can APK Extractor (play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ext.ui) or use the Backup function in ES File Manager via Library --> Apps to copy APKs to your SD Card.
Thanks!
Is there anyone who can upload the actual version of zattoo app for remotes? many thanks.

Saw this at Engadget, bought the premium version for my N5. Download the free trial version and verify it works with your devices, and then buy the premium license for $4.99 (there are time limits for streaming with the trial version). It streams movies and pics from your phone / tablet to your TV using one of the following devices:
* Roku
* Apple TV
* Xbox 360, Xbox One
* Samsung Smart TVs
* Panasonic Smart TVs
* Google TV (Logitech Revue, etc)
* DLNA Renderers
Reportedly it will support music soon, and Chromecast support is also reportedly coming.
I used it over my Roku and it works well, streamed Dredd with no problems. Cool little app.

Not trying to complain, but this is a bit pricey for a beta app. Can't get it to stream movies on the free version. Who knows how long it will be supported also.
Like I said, try the free version on your devices before buying. It worked on mine. I think you're limited to like 60 seconds of video with the free version (just enough to see if it works, I guess).
I have Rokus all over the house, so this works great for me.
Oops, doubletap...
Huh didn't know about this, great find too bad no support for ps3 =[

Yeah, it came out of beta today: https://plus.google.com/110558071969009568835/posts/XDZLpU8uYt4
Although, I saw the point of the app when you "Shared to..." from other apps when it was in beta but now it's just all one inclusive app. It makes me confused considering I don't really keep movies or tv shows on my phone and if I ever share pictures/video it's not typically in a living room setting.
i use Twonky Beam https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pv.twonkybeam to stream music and videos from my device to my so's LG tv since 'on device' media cannot be streamed natively. Works great so far
lot of updates recently?
I received 3 alone yesterday, one today also dated back for yesterday. (also several over the last week)
Changing version numbers, but no changelog or other version history in the PlayStore.
I am pretty sure I could watch a video longer than 60 seconds on my Xbox when I last tried and PS3 didn't work. Has that changed? Can't try it out because I'm at my mother's house for the holidays.
PS
merry xmas!
When (if) it gets chromecast support I'll get it. Then I can actually use the thing.
Sent from the jaws of my Hammerhead!
Hmm... It doesn't seem to work with the Apple TV (3rd gen) for me. It just keeps spinning away.
Beta worked ok for me but I couldn't stream online services like Youtube, If your gonna drop some dollars on such an app I would also consider Streambels The 7 day free demo worked very good for me. Only downside opposed to AllCast is that you need to start the app first.
updated today to work with the chromecast
Cant get AllCast to work the last 6 months
No movie passes 5-15min with LG g3 d855. And I have the exakt the same problem with with Moto G4 plus, it disconnects my Hitachi 50hzt66 tv, I've payed for this app and if you cant get it to work, I want a reufund! Love your others apps so its just this one I cant get to work. All others apps and nougats 6.01 own cast works flawless.
Please solve this, because Ihave two more friends with the same problem. Best reegards Pierre Hellner Gothenburg Sweden
Hi,
I'm one of the lucky guys which had ordered during the first day so maybe they will really deliver at 25. September...
Because of the new unrootable '51.1.2.0_user_512073320' FW I hope they will deliver it with an older preinstalled FW.
AFTVnews.com wrote a really good guide to avoid to update to the new '51.1.2.0_user_512073320' FW

He also list all the domains requested by his Fire TV.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54964983&postcount=92
Because I have no idea if it is identical at the German AFTV I will connect the AFTV via Ethernet (crossover-cable) to a notebook running wireshark and/or HTTPNetworkSniffer to monitor the first action ...
Greetings

I ordered mine on Saturday Evening and it was stating before January 1st 2015 already. What I am wondering is does the menu offer language change as I dont really understand German....
I ordered mine 1 day after the presentation. I hope it will be here on 25th this month.
And it would be so nice if I could root this box to watch movies from my HDD or USB stick with MX movie player.

Ordered mine on the 5th of September and didn´t get any info about shipping dates. Only "when its available". Well at least there will be time to see if its rootable until then.

I ordered mine on the Sunday with prime promo, shipment should have occurred on 25. This month, I think.
But anyway...
After reading about the disadvantages of the box (especially the unsure rootability and no way of mounting a hdd without root) I have cancelled my order.
Now I am waiting for a Android TV box from China. There is a really good competition out there.
But the hot price of 49€ won't be touched by them...
Also some boxes are still more expensive than 99€...
But I will have no problems with rooting etc. since they are often rooted from factory (some factory's even searching guys to create custom roms for it, for example the tbr box tronsmart orion r28, or the openhour).
I think I will live with the higher price and freedom of doing whatever I want with that box. Since I am not want to use prime more than the free month.
(Hoping xda will adopt these on their "family")

Just pick one of the supported boxes from Freaktab.com.
Like the Beelink R89. They have a great support Community and are more Powerfull then the Fire TV (40.000 Antutu Points vs. 25.000).

While the Amlogic S802 is awesome the RK3288 beats it (Not so much by Antutu 30.000 vs. 40.000) but the GPU the S802 uses is still the Mali 400 (The 8-Core Variant). This leads to higher power consumption and the S802 is allways pretty warm/hot. The RK3288 has the new Mali which is great for future games ect. and runs cooler.
You can also see this by looking at the power supply...most of the S802 Boxes have a 3A or 3.5A Power supply while the RK3288 ones have 2A or 2.5A.

Oh, looks like I misread your post. Yes, if you buy the German one new and it comes with 51.1.3.0 then you'll be screwed. If you already have one or buy a US one with an earlier version and then update with a prerooted 51.1.3.0, then you'd be fine.
I ordered my German Fire TV on just the 2nd day in the morning. I've got an Email with delivery notice of the 8th of October. So I guess it's not that bad like it was told from Amazon.
But I'm a bit unsure now, because I need some kind of Vpn for it (at least for YouTube and sometimes for Netflix) and if I would change in the Rooter my other devices won't work.
It is official.
I will get my fire tv from amazon germany on 25.09.
I talked with amazon:
Vielen Dank für das freundliche Gespräch.
Es freut mich das wir Ihr Anliegen kurz per Chat miteinander besprechen konnten.

As many of you are probably aware, there are a lot of people out there selling Android TV devices such as the Amazon Fire TV preconfigured with XBMC and such. I'm not one of them, I just write addons for free, but I was curious as to what everyone thinks would be the best (and easiest) solution for this, so that dealers could remotely update files on the device?

Sounds like some of them want to offer it as a service, I'm guessing.
Another way to differentiate themselves from the next guy selling a FireTV with XBMC on it...
I wasn't actually specifically referring to the Fire TV, it's just that no other set top TV box has a forum here.

ITV PLAYER

CHANNEL 5
They have apps on fire tv but can these not run on NVIDIA SHIELD? IF ITS an apk file..

I've wondered this too, I know that in the early days people had a little success with the Nexus Player for some US on-demand apps. Problem is I've never been able to obtain the exact Amazon apks. Somebody from the UK needs to extract them from a Fire TV. It seems that there isn't nearly as much of an Android TV app deficit in the US any more so the UK apps that you list are the biggest ones still missing from the Android TV ecosystem, at least they are for UK users. The way in which Amazon considers itself to be in such a cut-throat competition with the rest of the Android world, I wouldn't be surprised if they've locked their TV apps down from use on any other Android devices, while they pretty much beg developers to bring their tablet apps over from the Play Store... I digress.
If somebody is willing to extract the apps you list and any of them actually work, this tool would be really useful.
I'm having a hard time confirming if it will, some sites say tablets only. I installed it from my browser as it appears the app is officially supported. I'm guessing there will be some Kodi options if not.
I doubt it will. It didn't have the option to stream during playoffs either.
Well, the latest update (feb 4th) seems to mention live streaming of superbowl and on cbs superbowl website they do mention AndroidTV as one of the devices for streaming the game live. I guess we'll see. I don't have any links in the app for live streaming - not sure if it will just appear or how it will work.
It will be live from the Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick and is advertised heavily there with the CBS Sports app.
Yes, I know that the Amazon devices are not Google TV, but they do run customized Android and not tablets or phones, so they show promise for the Super Bowl to play live on the Nexus Player, although I am concerned that there are no ads promoting it.
There is absolutely no mention of superbowl inside the nexus player app. No link. Just the regular nfl and other sports video clips. I'm hoping it somehow incorporates a link at the time of the kickoff... but I have doubts.
I mean they do specifically mention AndroidTV on CBS's website... but there is no indication of it from inside the app itself.
The pregame show is live on the app! Yeeei So there's hope for the game as well. The link appeared at 2 pm ET inside the app.
