Hi,
I want to flash the I9500XXUAMDE_I9500OJKAMD9_ILO.zip Stock ROM (Full hebrew , designed for GT-i9500) on a factory unlocked AT&T SGH-i337 using ICS 4.2.2.
I tried flashing it using both Odin and TWRD recovery with no avail.
IMHO the problem is with the CSC , I cannot change my CSC to ILO.
I hope there is a walkthrough for this.
In the worst case I need ANY FULL HEBREW (with RTL menus) Stock ROM (with no AT&T apps) for SGH-i337. :fingers-crossed:
THNX ALOT
That would be very, very unwise.
I9500 has the exynos octacore system while the i337 (and i337M and i9505) have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 silicon.
If you manage to flash that i9500 rom into an i337, you would be pretty much guaranteed to hard-brick the phone.
There are very good reasons why the variants of these phones have their own sections of forums
NO!!! Dont do it! You'll hard brick your phone
yes its possible. but it will hard brick it for sure.
THnX AlOt GuyZZZ :good:
It seems I inadvertently bought the better phone it has the same specs as the GT-i9505 which leads me to the question will the SGH-i337 support GT-i9505 ROM ? :fingers-crossed:
BTW "Brick" status (unsuited firmware flashed on hardware) is unrecoverable (physically damages the hardware) ?
I won't be able to boot into recovery/DL mode and flash a working ROM ?
Had a friend flash a i9500 rom as soon as the att g4 was released. He visited the jtag box. HARD BRICK. No you can not run those roms. Besides, for every i9500 rom released they do a i9505 rom also..or very soon after. In my guide is the list of i9505 roms that will work for you.

I'm glad someone else asked for me. I had the same issue and I'm not sure where to find i337 rooms, are they mixed in with this att forum?

yes they are; root, install recovery (one click three way is easiest, and who DOESNT like a good three way?), and make sure its an auto-loki ROM. There are touchwiz (keep samsung features) and AOSP (no samsung features; closer to stock android), and Cyanogen nightlies that have several issues.
I am running Goldeneye 1.3, Ktoonsez kernel, Xposed framework with multiwindow hack, etc. 100% stable, 100% smooth; all Samsung features work fine. Based on an international ROM, and screen smear is fixed, camera is quicker too.

Hi Axman,
In this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2295557 is there a ROM with Full RTL Hebrew menus ? that's is the prime attribute I'm looking in a ROM right now.
Let's be more specific unlike what you've said currently there is no "Hebrew" ROM for the GT-i9505 (official in sammobile.com or non-official) is there a way/is it possible to customize the current official GT-i9500 Stock (meaning no carrier apps, am I correct ?) Hebrew ROM http://hotfile.com/dl/207318277/2500212/I9500XXUAMDE_I9500OJKAMD9_ILO.zip.html to work on SGH-i337 device ? If yes, how hard is it ?

again, the link you have here is for the i9500 stock right? And you are trying to flash on i337 att, it will brick, This is NOT good. maybe you can ask the dev of that rom, and see if he has any way you can do this.
I am not for sure about this, but I think Wanam and Omega roms have hebrew.
I could be wrong, but upon first boot, it has many language options.

Is there an SGH-i337 (or similar) ROM emulator for Win 7 x64 ? I want to check these ROM's while keeping my phone intact.
I know there is an Android emulator for Eclipse but I don't recall if you can boot up entire ROM with it,

There is one, as soon as my tech arrives, I will get some info on it. It is SLOWWWW
on windows, but it lets you emulate the booting of the rom, pretty cool. But I can't stand the slow thingy
Is that what you are looking for?

Hey Ax , Sorry for the lag I was hell busy this weekend...
I don't need something fancy , just something that will let me check the ROM's initial boot and config.
I could give it a try what's the program's name ???
I wonder why there isn't an Android OS emulation option in Orcale VirtualBox
One Q is very important - does the factory unlocked (GSM free) feature is ROM dependent or it's built in (flashed in) the device (e.g my SGH-i337) ?

Not sure if this is in the right section. I used a non lte S4 and there was obviously a lot less custom roms available then for the lte model. I am now using the S5. I see there is a couple of custom roms for the SM-G900F, but there is currently no custom roms for the SM-G900H or am I looking in the wrong section when I look here..http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/development, if not, is somebody busy with a custom rom for the SM-G900H? There are very talented guys designing roms on here and I hope they make their way to the SM-G900H side.

be patience dude, the dev will work on our model, just stay tune
Just glad to hear there is hope... Can't wait.....
as there are more countries adopting LTE, there are less markets adopting the exynos version of the GS5. therefore less developers. Hopefully developers even those from LTE-running countries make rome for the exynos version. :fingers-crossed:

Nah, really I feel that nowadays if you root and use xposed you will find almost all the things you used to look for in a rom.
And you can debloat yourself using Titanium Backup or greenify donate.
That's at least in my case, there's even an xposed module to remove the s connect shortcut in the notification bar, the only modification I did directly on the apk.
So for now, there's not a huge need for a custom rom, 98% of the tuneup scripts are bs. And most tweaks are already in wanam xposed or app settings.
i dont think that we have hope..:/
btw @Shohat said that until the end of May he will release custom rom of sm-g900h but still now, nothing happen...

Don't believe any promises in that thread...
Yea not into trusting that thread either lol. I am rooted and use wannam and to be honest i am quite happy with it so far. I also use the phone for lots of training, so I use Endomondo sports tracker and the heart rate ANT etc and the battery life is phenominal. I am not sure I would want to run a custom rom that is going to have bugs etc. I stock standard with a few speed tweaks and debloated might do the trick but I guess we will have to wait and see if anyone has the guts to build for this model ??
I waiting for rom galaxy s5 g900h
Hi everyone ,
i installed Recovery for my G900h, but i still waiting for dev make a new ROM for G900H exynos, :good:
never test a rom G900F or else you risked your phone fallen break:crying:
Sorry bro, can't read your post, the text it's too small.
After having rooted for weeks and used greenify, titanium backup and xposed framework I still don't see any need of a custom rom (same experience I had with my Nexus 5 - stock rooted with franco).
Custom kernel is a different story, just changing a couple of things makes a good difference in standby consumption (sec-battery-monitor, wlan_rx_wake and l2_hsic wakelocks).

Where at all is Andreilinux? He is the one who did it for the s4 octa, so whats special for the s5 version that hardly anybody shows any interest in it?
I want to ask that I am very much interested in making a custom rom for this device. But the problem is that I have no past experience.. So how tough a job it is, to make a rom for exynos devices if I haven't made any rom in the past?

The problem is not that its hard to make a rom for exynos or anything special about s5.... I guess its that hardly anyone and no devs have the device. Supporting and building for a device that you dont own is just not sensible.

any progress about custom rom of sm-g900h? we need cm
Hey guys, I recently rooted my galaxy s5 model SM-G900H and it is still running the stock rom.
I tried using my Allshare cast wireless dongle and when it connects after a second it disconnects and the phone says
hardware problem. Any way to work around this? I downloaded triangle away and my flash counter is at 3. I tried resetting the flash counter but it is not working. Any help will really be appreciated as I am in Africa and I really need the screen mirroring to implement some community projects. Thank you all

Hi guys, i'm planning to buy an Galaxy S4 Value Edition Model 9515L (L from Latin, probably southamerican-friendly frequencies) (The only difference i guess is the back cover and it comes with 4.4) and i want to know if i can install S4 9505 ROMS on it, is there any problem? Plus, is there also a root for it?
No, you can't flash those roms.
What actually is the difference between a regular S4 and a 'Value' S4. pdadb.net shows they have pretty much identical specs?!

even if the hardware is the same? There are alot of unified ROMs for several défices, isnt there ANY way of converting ROMS to work on value edition? Or at least its possible to root the phone?

I just rooted my I9515 with the I9505 CF-Autoroot file. :good: It all ran quick and easy, as if they really were the same phone. Haven't tried any customs roms yet, so I can't say anything about them. The rooting, although, is flawless so far.

I'd be very cautious on jumping to that general conclusion.
Although the CF-Autoroot for I9505 has worked in my device, when I flashed the I9505 TWRP (2.7), I couldn't use it because the touch screen didn't work. Then I tried I9505 CWM (6.0.4.7, non-tocuh), and everything was smooth and functional.
Later, I flashed Slimkat 5 (which is supposed to be S4 LTE unified, I9505 included, but obviously not for the I9515 yet), but the touch hasn't responded as well. After a few minutes being really afraid I'd burned the digitizer for good :crying:, I was able to flash the stock I9515 rom and the touch went back to life! :victory:
So, it seems that flashing I9505 stuff (even custom roms) in the I9515 is possible, but the touch doesn't work. That is just a first impression based in my quick experience in this matter, though.

This times a thousand!
It's totally plausible that the 9505 is completely interchangable with the 9515.
It's also totally plausible that flashing a 9505 recovery on the 9515 will brick it beyond all repair.
And then its plausible that some things are compatible but others aren't without any pattern to figure it out by. (CWM Recovery might be fine but TWRP might brick it, etc)
It's your phone so you can do whatever you want. Lord knows that the vast majority of hacks to gain root (and various other things) have been tested by someone manning up and just rolling the dice on their phone to see if it works or bricks it. So feel free to try it, but be very careful, research first, and know that nothing is guarenteed until AFTER it flashed successfully and boots.

That is absolutely true!
There is at least one legitimate reason for devices being sold without straight forward root access: consumers safety, that is, avoiding them to brick their devices tweaking something they don't fully know or understand. That way, granting root access is a risk itself, and the ones which decide to do it should be aware of those risks (and be responsible for the consequences). And, if using a rooting procedure to your specific device is a risk itself, trying stuff for a different (albeit similar) one is a risk even bigger!
In my case, I ended up with a european phone I can't use in Brazil, what made me try and unlock it by all means, including the very risky ones. And, even though I'm far from having any deep linux/android knowledge, I know exactly the risks of what I'm doing, and things are really like giving stuff a try and rolling the dice.
That is the experience I'm sharing in this thread, but, like Skipjacks advised, be very careful before trying anything - and, when you do, be aware of the risks involved.

Hm... So, there are touchscreen drivers for each ROM(device) right? So if devs make ROMS with 9515 drivers maybe we could get it working?
I really can't understand that... the phone is almost exact like the original S4. EVERY spec besides frequencies, why there is so much difference?

I'd love to see xda experts developing I9515 stuff, for I'm sure they would work just fine, but I'm afraid this might not happen. This S4 version is kind of a last selling one, and, with the new devices coming out, devs may not be interested in working in a dated - and probably not so spread - version.
Regarding the specs, I do think that, if we could flash the hole I9505 software, and not only a main kernel file, maybe we could get everything working. Nevertheless, I don't know where to get those files, nor how I could do that through Odin, or even how to bypass the write protection enabled bootloader.

So would I...
Today I tried a different 9505 ROM (Omega v31) in my 9515. Just like the other time, the installation went ok (albeit tough to go through, because AROMA didn't respond to touch), but, after the device rebooted, I couldn't get the touch screen to work as well. Adding this new experience to the previous ones, I think it's reasonable to state that, at least so far, the main incompatibility regarding the 9505 and the 9515 is the touch screen drivers...
Could any dev help us out here? Any possibility of custom recovery and roms for the I9515?
Hey there!! I don' t have an s4 anymore and i guess this is basically the reason you don' t see any custom rom for s4VE.. all has a 9505 or an s5 now..
Anyway.. when i had the s4 i tried to build a rom for the 9515 and sent to a tester.. unfortunately it didn' t boot.. so i guess it was due yo the kernel.. so i thought.. why not to flash the single system and leave the stock, altready rooted kernel?.. and believe me i would have bet my car it should have worked.. but it didn' t ?? even if the same rom worked as a charme on my s4 with 9505 kernel modules.. ?
So to @Rune Walker if you' re up for a test i would really love to have a second attempt, given that you already know and tested how to recover... so i will PM you soon ?

Anyway.. when i had the s4 i tried to build a rom for the 9515 and sent to a tester.. unfortunately it didn' t boot.. so i guess it was due yo the kernel.. so i thought.. why not to flash the single system and leave the stock, altready rooted kernel?.. and believe me i would have bet my car it should have worked.. but it didn' t ?? even if the same rom worked as a charme on my s4 with 9505 kernel modules.. ?
So to @Rune Walker if you' re up for a test i would really love to have a second attempt, given that you already know and tested how to recover... so i will PM you soon ?

thanks.. in the past days i wasn't able to think to anything new.. the rom is working with no wifi by now.. so i guess is not ready to release.. i was actually thinking to make a "patch" in order to make the 9505 rom working with the V.Ed.. but is still a project, and nothing more
thanks for your help, i will consider if need!
Hi all. I have a few questions about my Note 3 n9005.
Im on stock TW 4.4.2 with Towel root and knox is 0x0.
I have read in the threads but have not fund the answers i'm looking for. I hope you fine people can help me
1. Knox. Do i need to care if Knox is 0x0 or 0x1 if my phone is without warranty?
2. Do i benefit from upgrading to Lollipop at all? If so, in what way? What Lollipop? Faster? Better battery? Features?
3. Are there drawbaks to Lollipop on Note 3? If so, what?
4. If i stay on TW 4.4.2, do i benefit from changing to a costum kernel? Faster? Better battery? Features?
5. If not Lollipop, are there stable and battery friendly custom TW-roms that you can recommend?
I'm asking because i'm not quite satisfied with stock 4.4.2. I think it might draw unnecessary battery for one. Idle and in use.
And of course i want to see what Lollipop is all about. (It's not available via update in Sweden for me)
My phone is stable and thats how i like and need my phone right now. So i don´t really want to go through all the hassle of experimenting to see what works or not. Not if there are kind people here to help me in the right direction.
Then i can experiment and see what works for me
I really do appreciate if you can help me with this.
Regards. //Tesla

Trolling. Report any irrelevant or nuisance posts if you come across them.
1- No and Yes. If your warranty is void then you shouldn't care about KNOX. You should only care about KNOX if you use that security. I mean if you turn on KNOX your phone will be more secured and all that, but I don't care about that, can't say about you.
2- Yes, in my opinion. It's faster, smoother, better battery life absolutely by 20-25% for me (however I have heard the opposite as well), don't know if there is any additional features or not, don't think so.
3- Depends on your taste. For some people the whitish/ lighter background of Lollipop is bothersome, but for me it was the opposite, I hated darkish background of KitKat. Also some people say battery backup is worse than KK, but it was opposite for me. You will also hear that some apps/ games crash to often, but I personally haven't found a single app which crashes, and I don't play games on my phone. Some will say RAM usage is much higher, it was true, but with latest update (OF3) I don't see any high RAM usage at all.
4- You will always benefit from using a custom kernel over stock kernel, for everything.
5- No interest or idea about non-Lollipop ROMs any more. But if you are looking for LP ROMs then flash AryaMod if you want to have quite a lot of features, or just flash the stock Deodexed version of latest ROM and install Xposed framework to get most out of your phone.
It's either hate or love with LP, I love it, but you might hate it. And no one can tell you either because no one will know your personal taste.
Thank you so much for your long and detailed answer m8. I really appreciate it.
Okey. Then i don´t care abot Knox. :d
Is it AryaMod V7.1 TW Lollipop Official POF3 you are referring too? Do you have experience of this Rom?
I think i will start with a custom kernel for TW. But i have to say that i'm lost in which one to choose. Do you have a sugestion for 4.4.2 Kernel?
Lollipop sounds good if you are one of the lucky ones. I will try it soon.
Thank you again my friend.
Yes, it is AryaMod 7.1 I am referring to. I used Arya for over a month actually, very stable and full featured ROM, but the ROM has its own systemUI mods, for that Xposed is not fully compatible with it, and I had to ditch it. I can't live without Xposed modules.
For KK kernel, I don't really remember much, but when I was on KK I remember using the Faux's kernel, I think the kernel was maintained by someone called yank555 or something like that, it was a great kernel. And as it was not available for LP any more I switched to Audax kernel (as you can see in my siggy), another great kernel (it's actually a continuation of Fulgor kernel, and Fulgor was available for KK too as far as I can remember, so you can try that too if you wish to stay on KK). And if you want better battery related kernel for LP then Arter's kernel should be your choice, but I prefer for performance over anything, so not using it.
And anytime, we are here to help only, and seek it when in need
Ooh.. i doo love my Xposed modules. :/ Then i will have to find another Rom.
What Rom are you on now and is it what i'm looking for? Link? Arter's kernel works with the rom you are using?
Thanks. Now i can use the search and see what i find here
Thanks for the great support. You help in the true XDA Spirit.
Was afraid of getting the "Read" answer. Se my siggy.

I am using Deodexed version of Stock ROM, which has very slight number of features added, like UPSM etc.

Yes, Arter kernel works with LP obviously, http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/development/arter97-kernel-galaxy-note-3-t3028148
Thread cleaned.

Thanks.
I have come across some very cheap Galaxy Tab 4's on eBay that I was wanting to try out. I'm a T-Mobile customer so I'm interested in the SM-T337T (band 12 support woo hoo!)
I see that there are recoveries for the tablet so it looks like I'm not the first to wonder.
Basically, my question is: which Lollipop/Marshmallow ROMs are currently supported and stable on the SM-T337T? And have we been able to reliably root/install recovery on them?
Thanks,
-coach

Unfortunately there are no custom ROMs for the SM-T337T. There has been an official lollipop update, and since there are working recoveries, you should be able to use chainfire's systemless superSU root method (you most likely need the systemless root because the lollipop update is 5.1.1). The fact remains though that nobody has made a custom ROM for this tablet. Sorry

Thanks for the reply. What can I do to help the situation? What would be required on my end to port a different ROM to it? Either from a "stock" Cyanogenmod or from an existing Galaxy Tab 4 ROM?

For cyanogenmod you'd need a computer running linux, whether in a virtual machine or dual booting windows and linux (I have that setup on my Windows laptop, Ubuntu works fine), you'd need to set up your build environment, sync the necessary repos from Cyanogenmod's github, you may or may not (but probably will) have to create a device tree, but I imagine you can probably use moonbutt74's github repos to get you started on that, and once all that preliminary work is done you'll have to figure out what proprietary files are needed from the Tab itself. And of course it would be a good idea to download and inspect Samsung's source code for your device. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, this would be a good place to start reading: https://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Development#Learning_To_Build_CM
Thank you for the very thorough response. I just don't wanna be "that guy" who gets on here and says "Waaahhhh the devs aren't supporting my device!" I'd rather help
When I get home in a few days, I'll fire up the build environ and see what I can do with her. Here's hoping no bricking!

I have that device on 5.1.1 and rooted it here(in case you haven't found this yet);
//autoroot.chainfire.eu/
Root available for both 4.4.4 & 5.1.1.
I would personally love to see marshmallow on this device! Currently settling for some Touch-Wiz debloating for now.
Does anyone have updates on this? I recently got an SM-T337T and would like to de-bloat it -- first on the chopping block would be TouchWiz. If there's a ROM that takes care of this, that would be nice, but I might be able to do it on my own?
Also, I'd really like 6.0.1, instead of 5.1.1 that's currently on it.

Just picked one of these up for Mom and have rooted and flashed TWRP, but was wondering if anyone knows of a ROM or at least debloating scripts...?
Thanks!
Hey Coach,
I know this thread is quite dated but just hoping you might have succeeded in either creating or finding a custom ROM for this device? I'm still using mine but finding more and more apps no longer supported on 5.1.1.
Thanks!
