What's up everyone. I swapped my iPhone for an S5 that has MOAR ROM installed. The guy reflashed the phone clean when we swapped and when it booted back up I have no phone icon. I can get calls if someone calls me, but I have no icon to make a call and the lock screen icon doesn't work.
Is there any way to just flash an apk file vs. having to reflash and set everything up again?
Thanks in advance.

I just downloaded the MOAR zip, would it be easier to just reflash the ROM?
I'll have to look in the MOAR thread to figure out how to install it. I'm not familiar with phones that use safestrap.

And just so I know for the future, if i want to reflash the rom clean. I just want to make sure I have the steps down correctly:
flash n12 kernel
boot into recovery via safestrap
flash rom
boot into download mode
flash oa8 kernel
Is that correct?
no

Do a full wipe before you install the ROM (everything but SD card). I did not go back into download mode and flash the OA8 kernel. I just let it boot right up and it worked great.
Ok so I flash the n12 kernel to get into safestrap, do a full wipe, flash the rom, flash the oa8 kernel then reboot. Where in Odin do I put the kernel?

Kernels go in the ap slot. After you flash MOAR, don't do anything else. Just let your phone boot itself up.

I'm trying to update to 2.2.2, I downloaded and installed the first update, and I can successfully download the froyo update, but it won't go all the way through. It will finish downloading, prompt me to install, then power down to install, but when it installs it gets to about 35%, then shows the triangle with the ! In it and reboots. I'm rooted with stock everything, and have system reset twice hoping it would work. No luck.
Is anyone else having similar problems?

I had the same problem at first, but then this is what i did:
flashed ec07 odex
flashed dl17 odin image
then i just restarting the ota
If you still cant get it to work you can always flash the cwm files or odin files in the development section. But i would try ota first

Your problem is probably due to the current ROM you're using has removed some of the bloatware. When you remove bloatware you are unable to update your phone.

Actually I'm not running a custom ROM. Literally all I've done was run a root tool, then installed Titanium Backup Free.
I'm going to try and re-image the phone using the stock DL17 but I'm not sure how. I've got the instructions for installing the rooted EC09 ROM but I don't think I'm supposed to use the I500.PIT? Is that specific to EC09, or is it specific to the phone model (and independent of ROM)?
UPDATE: I just realized there's a DL17 .PIT so nevermind! I'll be sure to use that.

My question is does it work even for my phone currently is CWRP recovery and custom rom flashed? Does the Odin flash the stock recovery to the phone?

heh we cool, um, it does not remove the recovery, but a hint here, odin back to stock, go into recovery after and factory reset. If you are wanting to remove everything including recovery, there is a thread or 2 with info on that.

Hello,Sir~ Thanks for advice!
Do you have any idea about the boot unlock image with word "custom"? I found something online saying that even if you flashed a stock firmware
by Odin and reset factory in recovery, it could be still there and probably related to some files be signed or not by samsung.. Any suggestion?

You can find more about the process by reading this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2261573
If you want to be 100% stock like you were out of the box, you can do a factory reset/wipe in TWRP and then ODIN back to stock.
Factory reset will wipe all of your data - some of which is causing the custom icon at boot. You can wipe the cache and davlik cache as well to be sure.
Next, ODIN will remove root and custom recovery afterwards, leaving you completely stock.
My understand is that if you don't want to wipe all your apps and data, you can ODIN back to stock and then manually remove the files that are causing the custom icon, but I have not tried that.

so you were rooted and running MF3, you simply installed twrp via goo manager and the device only boots to the error/warning screen, right? normally, flashing the stock firmware via odin clears up this issue but in this case, you cannot flash back to MDL or MDB from MF3, nor is there an MF3 firmware tar that i've seen anywhere. hmmm...

OK, so you'll defo have to reflash from scratch, then boot her up and set up, then re-root - try not to restore anything.

When you say don't restore anything, you mean that automatic restore from Google?

OK Your phone HATES you lol,
Last thing I can think of, is you may have had the wrong file try This one at the bottom of the page is the link. If you already have this one, then Re-flash Stock to fix yourself, and hold tight on root until it can be figured out 100% for now.
