MMS Not Working After Update - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

I have 2 different S4's with Straight Talk sims in both, one took the OTA update and the other used the Keeproot method to Lollipop. Neither one can send or receive MMS. I've tried several different messaging apps. I've deleted all APN's that I can and set up the Straight Talk APN again. No matter what I do I cant get MMS to work. I've seen a few other people with the same problem but no one has a solution. Anybody got any ideas?

Do you have
Name: Straight Talk
Apn: tfdata
MMSC: http://mms-tf.net
Multimedia message proxy: mms3.tracfone.com
Multimedia message port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Authentication type: Not Set
Apn type: default,mms,supl
Mine works great

T-Mobile US APN Settings for MMS

I have found about 20 different posts that all list different APN settings for T-Mobile US. Does anyone know what they should be for sure? Please only post if you are able to SEND MMS. I seem to be able to receive MMS, but can never send MMS. I have gotten it to work a couple times on some builds but the same settings don't seem to work on other builds.
Posting the settings is great but if you have a backup file from "APN Backup and Restore" that would be even more convenient.
Thanks
I fought with this same problem for a while, trying every setting i found in all the threads. One way i finally found that allowed me to send and recieve was to make 2 APN's, one with the standard epc.tmobile.com and nothing else, and another named t-mobile mms with the following settings:
APN: T-Mobile MMS
Proxy: None
Port: None
Username :none
Password: none
Server: none
MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms.wapenc
MMS Proxy: 216.155.165.050
MMS port: 8080
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
I got the idea for using multiple APN's when i looked at my girlfriend's my touch slide's settings. Hope that helps!
Thanks. I'll give that a try and let you know how it goes. I read once that there are different settings for PPP and RMNET. I wonder if that's why I was able to get it to work on some builds and not others.

Thanks for these settings that u shared. This was the only APN that worked for my friend to get mms on tmobile prepaid with an AT&T Xperia Play 4g. They only get 2g/Edge, but I feel they even got an increase in speed from the "telekila"APN that was on the phone even if its small increase within 2g. Thanks everyone.
What are the correct apn settings for T-Mobile prepaid? Speedtest.net is reporting my location WAY off and pings are through the roof even though data speeds are just fine.

HELP! Want to configure Android for MMS only on AT&T (no data)

Hi. I am currently using a rooted Nexus 4 with a stock rom. I've been trying to configure my APN for MMS only. I currently have this set up in my APN settings which I got from here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1882479
Name: Dummy APN
APN: dummy
MMS port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
APN type: default, supl, internet <-- exactly as typed no spaces
(remember to hit lower left menu, save)
Name: ATT MMS
APN: wap.cingular
Proxy: wireless.cingular.com
Port: 80
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS proxy: wireless.cingular.com
MMS port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Even with this set up Android OS is showing up in my data usage draining a lot of data. Can anyone help me out with this?
The easiest way to use mms without data plan is to call at&t and black your data, then you can enable internet and mms will work but data wont
I called before and ask them if i can do that. They said your MMS wont go through since the data is blocked.

AT&T MMS APNs

Hi,
ROM: HyperDrive RLS15 (with AT&T Compatibility Pack.zip)
Baseband: MDL
I'm on AT&T, MDL base, HyperDrive ROM, and only issue I had with RLS15 is I had to put in the APN settings to get my 4G
data/internet working (my voice calls and text messaging were already okay and working).
However, now I realized I can't download incoming Multi-Media messages, like pictures via text for example:
this problem was present before I put in APN settings manually. I was wondering if anyone could direct me,
or knows the right APN settings I need for this, if any.
Thanks in advance for the help. :good:

Where do you change this information at?
Sent from my A100 using xda app-developers app
ive been wondering if phone or pta is better. phone is default and gives lte, but older lte phones used pta.
I read that this is common bug on older firmware TW version. Not telling you to update just try some version of KitKat from development section.

Go to your

Thanks, but it cannot be edited. Also, it seems only the entries in APN type differ

I cannot edit the entries? How do you edit?
Also, it seems your only difference from mine reset to default are entries in:
yours > APN type: default, agps, supl, mms, hipri, internet *Note* no space
mine/default > APN type: default,mms,supl,hipri,fota
so yours adds agps,
flip flops the order of mms/supl (does order matter)
deletes fota
adds internet
I see on another thread a tip that suggested changing the MMS port from 80 to 8080. He said it works for a while, and when it fails, he changes it back to 80, and so on
NOTE: ( I can't find the page) this is the main page
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1791526&page=1
The thread wanders all over the place, so read with caution. This is complicated and frustrating to have to figure out.
About the only thing I saw that I would tend to think is where it all lies is that AT&T and Verizon use different LTE and they have different protocols, and they don't "play nicely together". Since my problems all seem to be between AT&T (me and m5 phones) and Verizon (15 or so other family members from whom we 5 all have issues receiving. They never have issues within Verizon)

[Q] Straight Talk AT&T Micro SIM- internet browsing, calls and texts working- NO MMS!

[Q] Straight Talk AT&T Micro SIM- internet browsing, calls and texts working- NO MMS!
Hello all. My SM-G900V is unlocked and running Android Version 4.4.2. I have a relatively old (~1.5 years old) AT&T network Micro SIM from Straight Talk installed in it. I previously had The Micro SIM in an unlocked Nexus 5 in which the MMS features worked. As the title says, I can browse the internet, call, and text, but I cannot use the MMS features. I have a clean ESN (Swappa) and I am using the Global Network mode. I have tried SO many APN settings and yet none have given me access to MMS features. I am in Greensboro, NC, if that helps. Thank you for your time.
Current APN settings:
Name: Straight Talk
APN: tfdata
Proxy: Not set
Port: 80

MMSC: SEE ATTACHED .PNG FILE
Multimedia message proxy: mms3.tracfone.com

Trying to switch to Straight Talk, no data, no texts, I'm desperate!

OK, so I have an At&t Galaxy S4, one of the originals, I'm on baseband MDL, rooted, with TWRP auto-loki recovery. Running CM11, android 4.4.4.
I'm off contract with at&t, am trying to switch to straight talk to save money. I followed all their directions to port my number, activate service, etc. I can make and receive calls, but I have no data (phone shows bars and the LTE logo) and no texting ability. Straight talk has been worse than useless, and I haven't gotten a support person yet who can actually speak English.
My apn settings are as follows:
Name: reseller
APN: reseller
Proxy, port, user/pass, all not set
MMSC:
PHP:
http//mmsc.mobile.att.net
MMS proxy:
PHP:
proxy.mobile.att.net
MMS port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
APN type: default,supl,mms
Rest is default.
Note: my phone is NOT carrier unlocked, but it didn't complain in the slightest, and still doesnt, about the ST sim. I did get an unlock code from at&t, but when I switched to the T-Mobile sim to try to trigger the unlock message, the code wasn't accepted. Tried it twice, no dice.
Please, I'm desperate.

I am not sure if you have gotten this taken care of yet, but I have always had good luck with the following:
- Press Main
- Select Settings
- Select Wireless and Networks
- Select Mobile Networks
- Select Access point Names
- Delete all APN's in this section.
- Press Menu
- Press New APN
- Enter the follow settings one for General Data . The other for MMS

I do know for a fact that leaving your mms at ATT will NOT work, even if you blank it out it would stand a better chance at working.
