Hi!
I have this camera problem.. When I open up the camera app on the stock rom I get this "Warning": MediaServer failed. Camera needs restart. I also attached the screenshot. I tried clearing camera app cache and gallery app cache aswell. After some googling and messing with it I got so pissed that I cleared the data, cleared cache and factory resetted the phone. When this didn't work, I flashed the stock rom again with odin, and still having this issue. Please help! Thanks for any help.
EDIT: I got it fixed by flashing the I9301IXXUANH1 version.
Maybe it is hardware problem... Open your phone and check connectors. Also send me logcat when that happens

What do you mean connectors? The camera was working before, I tried some roms, didnt like it, went back to stock now having these issues. (I kinda don't believe it's a hardware issue because the device is pretty new.)By the way, I typed in *#0*# in the dialler and got to that testing area idk what it's called, anyways, I tried Front cam there, and it was working, tried Mega cam and boom: Warning: "camera failed". Can you explain what a logcat is? XP, I am no expert in these things, i'm sorry, and my english isn't the best too.
Ehh, when I first rooted the phone, I made a backup using TWRP, now I flashed the backup and camera works. So firmware downloaded from sammobile.com wasn't good. I had a issue with battery life aswell with the firmware downloaded from that page. I am not blaming anyone just it didn't work for me. Thank you for trying to help @Rox
Samsung used 2 different camera sensors in Productions of phones. Imx175 and s5k4h5yb . some firmwares work for one and some for other sensors. NI* and NJ* firmwares are working for s5k4... And other firmwares are working for imx175 sensors .. There i no firmware that works for both sensors... I sent message to samsung to release firmware that is working for both sensors...
camera not working
Hey, I got the same problem...
I tried CM12 on my S3 neo I9301I and used some camera fix for it (idk why or was it necessary..) and then reverted back to the official ROM (from sam mobile).... Since that my cam has given that error... I'd love if you tell me which rom worked for you...
Also the cam works with custom ROMs, it's not a hardware problem for sure...
Im using stock ( 4.4.2) on my i9301 and i have got camera problem also. When i enter camera i get message" Camera failed" ,sometimes get "Mediaserver failed" . I bought this phone a month ago,and didnt root it. When i restart phone camera works. This error appears once a day.
Rox,imas li pretpostavki sta moze uzrokovati greske u kameri?

Hi all, have been having similar problems. GT-i9507 is soft bricked, but cannot escape bootloop even after wiping data, cache, and deldalvik cache with Philz Touch 6. Bricked after trying to flash wicked rom, have tried imperial as well since, both are i9505 roms, but apparently other users had had luck with them on the i9507? In any case, I can't see why I wouldn't be able to wipe the thing and boot up with the stock kernel, so I am currently grabbing a i9507 kernel and will get back with results tomorrow (long DL).
I am grabbing this kernel: pr31.rapidgator.net//?r=download/index&session_id=2oZ1mbKDmSSIDxiRcLmdXx1IQGO8CdPI
Samsung also released the i9507 kernel open source somewhere here: opensource.samsung.com/reception/receptionSub.do?method=sub&sub=F&searchValue=i9507
Might be worth looking into. Will also probably try to flash cyanogen from: download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=jfltexx
because there have been reports of that working, and there is an explicit i9507 release on their site.
---------- Post added at 01:12 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:07 PM ----------
In regards to previous post, just flashed cyanogen from the supplied link (it's an https, would have linked it properly, but I need 10 posts first), and currently booted first time. Looks promising, but still doesn't mean that I can have the same level of dank kernel as i9505 users.
---------- Post added at 01:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:12 PM ----------
Might be better off grabbing the stock i9507 here:

Apparently, I could not go to the link you provided.
SGH-i337 is AT&T S4 and are you saying that you accidentally flashed the verizon version rom?
If the capacitive buttons are not working you could use apps like softkey or need to reflash the correct rom.
Unlocked bootloader so far , anyone Else had any luck ?
Already had twrp from needrom on it. But did not work.... Flashed complete stock ROM again on it to get it back to work.... I think I will put the phone on eBay again to get some better phone. I should have bought a OnePlus 3T instead....

I think in order to flash twrp u have to open bootloader and make write access first , i will try a little later on mine .Mine is unlocked it says so itself during boot
I think the twrp will work with otg mouse cause no touch otherwise. I will try today and after that port cm 13
Hi ! Any luck on a CM13 on S7 please ?
TWRP works with an OTG mouse. I did flash it with the original firmware just by replacing the recovery.img file by twrp, and voila

And i'm available for beta tests
Hi,
My gf's phone stopped loading yesterday (stuck at the SAMSUNG logo), so I've tried to factory-reset it via recovery menu. Unfortunately, this didn't help, so I've decided that I need to re-flash the system. After some search I found https://www.kingoapp.com/root-tutorials/how-to-flash-samsung-stock-rom-via-odin.htm and tried to follow it. After checking the sticker behind the battery, I've learned that the model is SM-G900F. Unfortunately I wasn't sure what ROM was installed on the phone before and couldn't find any Ukrainian ROM, which is where the phone was bought originally. In the end, I decided to try installing latest ROM for Germany O2, since this is the operator that my gf uses now.
Unfortunately, Odin refused installing that image with an error "FAIL! (Auth)". After some further searching, I've noticed that when the phone is in download mode, it shows model name SM-G900V. I have no idea why and the ROM that was there before was clearly non-Verizon. Still, having no other option, I've downloaded Verizon ROM and it installed successfully. Luckily the phone has booted, but as expected, it wouldn't connect to any other network than Verizon, which is kinda useless to me given that we live in Germany and use O2. Now I wonder if it's possible to somehow root the phone, install custom recovery and flash that German O2 ROM?
The device is running Android 6.0.1 and kernel 3.4.0. How do I root it? How do I install custom recovery? Which one would you recommend?
Thanks,
Sergiy
In order to root it and install custom recovery you need to follow this guide
https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-s5/development/root-method-2018-updated-stock-firmware-t3781426
---------- Post added at 10:24 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:21 PM ----------
I would recommend twrp and magisk
---------- Post added at 10:28 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:24 PM ----------
Also you need to get the correct twrp for your phone from
https://twrp.me/samsung/samsunggalaxys5qualcomm.html
---------- Post added at 10:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:28 PM ----------
After rooting and custom recovery installation you need to decide what ROM you want on this phone ,you can install any ROM that supports sm g900f or g900v or klte (that's your device nickname)
I am on aex and it works good for me so you can try it https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/unified-development/rom-aospextended-rom-v5-4-t3779910
---------- Post added at 10:47 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:37 PM ----------
Follow the installation instructions from the Aex link and you should be good to go
If you need google apps and play store install gapps zip the link for that is also in the aex post hope it all works out for you ,if you need any help just ask

Seems, you can read russian.
You may like to follow this my guide to flash SM-G900V with an international 6.0.1 ROM.
I think, you can even use VIA (O2) CSC.
P.S. Please, pay attention to:
1. The first boot after factory reset may take 12-15 min (but not more than 20), so be patient. This was the problem, I guess.
2. Read the QA section in my guide to find the answers to your questions about root and custom recovery. And feel free to ask questions (here or there).

Thanks a lot. Indeed, I have probably not waited long enough for the first boot. The instructions you linked, worked! My gf is happy to have her phone back.

You're welcome.
Радий був допомогти.
And note for the next time: it's a good idea to try clearing cache and safe boot before performing a factory reset
