Does the S6 recognize it like it would with a microSD card? Meaning, video players and audio players could scan and play its files directly

Not sure. I would imagine so. Pretty sure it basically uses it the same way as microSD.

Sandisk makes a decent looking one too. Maybe not quite as small as that Kingston though...
http://www.sandisk.com/products/usb/dualdrive/

basically, this method i used quite some times from now... (on my S3)
OTG will be plug as external storage for your devices, which mean its act as current storage, so which if u use those duo head USB stick or adapter or whatever the current market got, it able to act as internal storage.
the bad thing is once u unplug it, it gone.... space occupying only...
so wish for some case maker build a sd card slot in their case for this purpose XD !!(well likely will be high costing casing haha)

I have music on my Sandisk, and the S6 recognizes it and plays music through Rocket Player

Mophie makes just such a case for the iPhone and iPad mini, but they are quite pricey.

MicroSD Pocket Card Reader.... On My Key Chain.

This little card reader is amazing. Its so tiny it gets lost on my key chain. I have used it many times and it works flawlessly up or down loading data from any PC that has a USB port to my HTC 8925. Very handy to have.
I rarely rave about products but for around $7.00 this little gem is a no brainier.
Removable Flash Memory Drive:

The sandisk 8GB card I bought last year came with a card reader and it is smaller than that one. Can be bought seperately for around the same price.

I bought a set with a microSD and the same reader as the OP a couple of months ago. Love it, and it's the fastest one I've seen so far.

Keys.....
No words but see this.....

Take care when using the reader as a holder for transporting/backing up. Have lost (then found) a card.
OK I've copied the key. Now, where's the lock? : )

Dun dun duh!
Now you just need to work out which one is my front door key or copy them all and also find my home address and then I'll be worried. Oh and get past my rather large stranger hating dog.
Anyway there is a technique which is widely available and allows you to defeat most yale type locks anyway so why do you even need a key?
If anyone is interested, you can get an 8GB card AND the card reader from Newegg for $18.99:

[REQ] Nexus One USB host driver for our phone

This is a something I'd like to bring to the attention of the Nexus S brothers of SGS
there has been some initial research going on into this topic
USB Host Driver For Ext HDD?
as it will be extremely beneficial to us, since we lack the microSD option, that the SGS has in stock.
if we can at least make the Nexus S be able to mount USB memory sticks, or USB HDD, then we'll be able to have access to mass amount of space, specially when you want to watch a whole load of 720 HD movies which i used to bring along with me on many microSD until i switch phone service providers.

now with just the left over 16GB space, it's no much room for enjoyment as the MP3 and the Apps will take-up most of the remaining space
I wouldn't mind connecting USB sticks like this when i want to watch HD videos, do backups, or installing new apps/games
Oh !! That would be a great feature. Just like Nokia n8 has USB on go feature
Any word on this?? I have a trig hhd looking for some nexus love....

Yeah, I spent some time poking around the kernel. The kernel shows every sign of OTG being valid. The topic got moved to general (?).
Just need a cable to try it out. Should work.
They did it already for Froyo 2.2 on Nexus ONE

Wouldn't stickying it in the development section make it more visible to the devs?
only actual DEV works goes into DEV section
everything else stays in General or Q&A

Work it ? ?
id really love something like that :'D!!!!!!!!
I have something like this , but in NS I haven't driver to work it
bump, the desire hd just got the option, we want it badly
agree http://www.xda-developers.com/android/usb-host-driver-ported-to-desire-hd-usb-devices-rejoice/
also the one from Galaxy S is nearly there, they are just figuring out ways to power the usb port, code is ready

I'm thinking to approach this problem using nexus s kernels, cause we already have some cyanogenmods ready for sgs. I'll take a look. What makes me curios is that noone working on Nexus S was able to accomplish this, and for Nexus S the job looks easier.

Still nothing? noone interested in having more space available?
apparently no DEV is interested in making it work on the Nexus S
both N1 and SGS got it, except us
I have part one cord part one thumb drive I'm missing the connectors to attach them and the 1 most important thing is missing part no dev experience lol and I have the drive to want this done I would carry that damn thing with me everywhere if this would be possible haha.

I use it for backup and restore just in case the tablet needs to be wiped for upgrading. Also media files like music and video clips can be stored in it, but for HD movies I use a usb adapter hooked up to an external hard drive.

curious if this is porn that is themed in a restroom, or if it is porn that is for use in the restroom, or both? lol
Maybe if you're bored or feel curious you can try dual booting Ubuntu? I'm not sure if that requires Ubuntu to run off the SD. But definitely something to look into?
i just want Windows XP on it
No, you don't.

HTC 6435LVW, 5 inch phablet, interesting?

So more and more rumours are popping up, saying that HTC is working on a device to challenge the Note. How could they not actually, the Note is a big succes and at the moment there is pretty much no real competition for it out there.
According to the rumours, first starting with a popup in benchmark results, the device is called the 6435LVW.
It is said to be running a Snapdragon S4 dualcore, but recently the rumours about quadcores are appearing. Seeing as pretty much all top devices are now moving towards quadcores, I'm inclined to believe the quadcore rumour.
According to the benchmark scores it's hooked up to 1.5 gb of memory and it should have 16 gigs of internal storage. It seems that this is not expandable with an SD card.
And then for the most interesting part for most: The screen, according to benchmarks, is a 5 inch 1080p screen. Putting the PPI significantly above that of the iPhone.
Anyways, this is known, and as a user of the OG Note, which is the best phone I've ever had, I'm quite curous to see HTC's take on a phablet. Especially since I don't get particularly warm for the Note 2.
What do you think, is it a good idea for HTC to enter this market? Is it something you would be interested in?
Lets not forget the blurrycams:

I'm not sure I could step down in size, that's too close to an S3 for me. More importantly to me, no sd card slot? Total fail if that's the case, I well not buy anything which doesn't have expansion.
What has this got to do with N7000 development?
wrong section ah.
:victory:
unless you can compare the specs with our Note. Otherwise, we are all here because of our N7000 gadgets. Not just the rumors.
:fingers-crossed:
really hope this gets a UK release, will buy one for sure
I get why HTC are making devices with Non Removable SD cards and batteries ( Like my One S), Its so they can be 'different' and make devices slimmer.
What I dont get is why they remove the expandable memory but only leave the user with 16gb Internal memory (of which 5-6gb is consumed by ROM + Apps etc) which turns out to be around 10gb.
If you're gonna remove battery and expandable memory, Give us a whopping powerful battery (so we dont need to buy extended ones) and some mega internal memory ! (something like 64gb, with USB OTG support). Retards at Apple have been creating 64gb iPhones for quite some time, So its not rocket science!
I dont think any one is going to make something as popular as the Note series, Samsung smashed it with this device and has created a massive fan base, I for one cant imagine ever switching to something else now.

Change Internal SD Card? [TUTE]

Is it really that simple and then just a matter of reloading a rom onto the new memory?
I'd like more info, tips and suggestions. Cause if this is the case, I might use my 32Gb as the internal card and then my 64Gb as the external card - 96GB'S!!!
Furthermore could I just use QDLTool after the card has been replaced and copy over my existing build and the boot up? I have LXdroid 0.2 and StreakMod installed.
Tips?

I did do this yesterday, and it works like a charm. The only difficult part was to cut open the streak, but following the 'windows part' of the post was really easy.
I'm using the DSC v1.5 ROM, so probs so far. :good:

96GB? not ambitious enough ...
the internal even supports 64GB microSDXC cards ... so in total.. it would be 64GB + 64GB = 128GB :good:
however... do you have what it takes?

This sh!t is hard for somebody that babies their electronics. LMAO
Every lil click I hear I'm like oops uh oh. hahaha
Then also with my tourettes, my hands aren't as perfectly steady as I want them to be sometimes. LoL
(I have the physical fidgity, twitchy kind, not the verbal screaming and cussing kind! =P)
Also does it matter if that second lil piece of plastic is cut too? Or no? The slim piece (After you've cut the main section off), cause it keeps wanting to pop off and up more than the main square section, figured if (it's okay) I removed it it be easier to get the rest of the section up and off.
