Hello all,
I have a i9505 and, currently I am on stock 4.4.2, with XXUGNG8 baseband. The phone is from Romania, but I live in Greece.
I am to choose from the following ROMS:
Resurrection Lollipop v5.4.0
Omega 41
GOLDENEYE v51
ECHOE v47
Imperium LL v3.1
Eudemony
Currently the most used kernels are AEL, imperium, stock.
I like having a custom kernel (as I used, in my old Galaxy S1). Which of the two(AEL vs imperium) is better?
Also are there any reported issues with 4G while using a custom kernel or 4G has to do with baseband?
Thank you

No rom is better. It's a personal choice. So just try it out.

Seems like you prefer touchwiz roms.
Depends on what you want. I haven't used any of those roms. RR seems to be the most customizable. Echoe was also very popular.
Check out https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDHt9tJ_reNJhs-IIHSrr1w
He did reviews on most of the roms here on xda. He is also from Romania. So you can ask him if you have any questions.
If you have issues with 4G then you will probably have to flash the modem. That generally fixes it.
To sum up the process:
I use Odin to flash TWRP, and from TWRP I install the rom's ZIP?
Or should i flash something else instead? Now I am on stock 4.4.2

That's exact the right way. Choose the latest twrp and flash any custom ROM. No matter if it is 442 or 5.0.1 or whatever. It could be possible that you will lose mobile data and/or wifi. In that case update your modem to a version that matches with your ROM.
Here's a guide how to update modems with odin.

NOTE: if you flash twrp or another recovery, your knox counter will be 0x1. But i think you know that already.[emoji2]

I would recommend that you root first so you can backup your apps and data with titanium backup.
This is not really necessary if you don't care about the apps.
Also, don't forget to wipe data, cache and dalvik cache.

Hello,
I've just used the CF Auto kit for root on a GT-I9505 running Android 4.2.2.
I'm about to use Philz Touch 5.11.2-I9505 CWM for the backup and want to install LiquidSmooth (Liquid-JB-v2.9-OFFICIAL-jfltexx.zip).
My question is, what version of the ChronicKernel do I need?
According to the CK thread:
AOSP-JB4.3 = CM-10.2 etc, AOSP-JB4.2 = CM-10.1 etc, TW-JB4.2 = Android 4.2 TW based ROMs, TW-JB4.3: Android 4.3/Google Edition based ROMs
I'm confused what the equivalent kernel to LiquidSmooth 2.9 is. This is my first install.
On a S4 Galaxy Build No. JDQ39.I9505XXUAMDE
Installed Philz CWM & performed a backup no worries.
LiquidSmooth went on without problems. I still want to put something like ChronicKernel on but which variant?

Great choice! LS 2.9 is based on Android 4.3 and its built on AOSP, so you would want to be looking at chronic kernel that is on 4.3 and aosp based
I would like to ask whether N910G can be flashed for N910F ROM.
As the version at my place is N910G, the difference is that it partially support TD-LTE. I would like to ask can I flash N910F ROM? If can, what other steps should I do?
Posted in wrong section dude. Would like to see a PROPER answer to this though as I also have an N910G. For now you can flash any KitKat rom that is for N910F as long as you flash AEL/Nadia Kernel. No other steps. But with lollipop you will have to wait until Samsung releases the B/L so developers are able to allow the N910F lollipop runs be able to run on N910G.

The 2 devices are the same but the N910G seems to support more bandwidth than the N910F.
You can flash any CM12 based Rom without problem just delete the first row in the 'updater-script' inside the ROM
(The line where the name 'trltexx' is found - All of it)
This goes for CM12 , AICP , CMRemix , CrDroid , UB-Rom.... (AOSP Lollipop Based ROMs)
Those Roms doesn't flash the modem so you are Good to go
But don't try to flash any TW Lollipop ROMs .
It seems that we N910G users won't have a TW Lollipop ROM
This is what I know, I always flash N910F AOSP Roms.
Maybe there is a way to flash 4.4.4 N910F TW Roms but I don't know it (I think changing kernel or not flashing modem)
But I don't know if we can do it for Lollipop

No need to even remove any lines just use twrp and flash any Cm12 rom
Now the Official CM12 Nightly for trltexx also supports 910g models
Hi,
I am currently running Imperium ROM (Lollipop, V5.0) on my Galaxy S4 i9505.
For those who dont know Imperium LL 5.0 is a stock based Lollipop ROM.
If I flash a stock ROM (original one release by samsung) using ODIN on my device, will that override the Kernel that I have on my device?
Coz the Imperium ROM is using its own kernel (Imperium Kernel).
Thank you.

Yes. If you flash stock rom it will also flash the stock Samsung kernel.
Hello!
I have a GT-I9505 (jfltexx) with android 5.0.1 (stock rom) and I would like to flash my first custom ROM - specifically CM 11. Do I have to downgrade to KitKat first (via Odin?) or can I just root, install TWRP and flash it from Lollipop?
Thanks in advance for any help you are able to provide.

Only thing you need to do:
- Flash TWRP
- Flash the custom rom you want.
ps do not use outdated custom roms like CM 11. Always use the latest custom roms available. Thus CM 12.1.
Hi,
at the moment i have a Note 3 N9005 running on Stock 5.0 with Audax Kernel.
I´m at the newest bootloader, can I flash the Custom rom Omega 4.4.2 V24 with Twrp without any problems?
thank you in advance
Suggest you read the roms thread as you are going to old firmware.
TWRP. 2.8 for Aroma roms.
