[Q] Volume buttons not working

Hi folks.
I got the Nexus 4 a few days ago and I've noticed that the volume buttons do not work.
I've performed a factory reset but that didn't solve the problem.
Is there some setting I'm missing or do you think it's a hardware issue?
Mine was working fine until 2 days ago when i updated to stock 4.2.2 via OTA.
Performing nandroid restores from known working volume backups does not work (i tried 4.2.1 Stock, and Slim Mako ROM)
Performing new ROM installs does not work (i tried Slim Mako ROM, Motoblur ROM, CM10 and kfheaven) .
I only did a wipe data and cache, i should try wiping dalvik - though i dont see how it would help.
Any thoughts would be great

I contacted Google support yesterday by email but haven't heard back from them.
I got the phone on Saturday and updated to 4.2.2 straight away so I don't know if the volume buttons were working before the update.
I'll let you know what they say when they get back to me. If you find a solution before then please let me know.

[Q] How do I avoid resetting to factory defaults?

Hello!
I rooted my phone and flashed Philz Touch recovery [Knox 0x1] and I have made a complete backup of my stock rom and a batch titanium back up as well.
After the above I have done, I would like to try every kernel and custom rom and decide what works best for me I would like to avoid at all costs to reset to factory defaults because I do not have enough time to restore every app I use and see how it behaves on the custom rom / kernel I will be trying.
So is there any way to try the custom roms or kernels without resetting to factory defaults?

you can flash all kernels with out factory reset

if you use mybackup pro it will put everything back app data home screen and call log and so on takes about 30 mins to put it all back on

[Q] Phone blacking out during restore or flash

Hi All,
I was on some Lollipop rom for a few weeks and decided to try something new so downloaded one jackaway rom l2 and did the usual backup, factory reset and flashed the rom. All good but after say 30mins i decided to go back and restore my previous rom. Went to recover did a cleanup to install new rom and then started restoring the backup previously made however after sometime in the restore process the screen dimmed and then just blacked out without any warning.
Now my phone does boot up into recovery after removing the battery and putting it back again but any thing like flashing a new rom or restoring causes it sometimes suddenly blackout or goes through the screen dimming and blackout.
I have never experienced this before so can someone pls advise if they know as to whats happening and if Odin flashing is the only way left for me. Thanks
Forgot to mention, mine is a N9005.
bump.
Can someone help me pull the cwm backup from internal memory using adb. Thanks
What recovery are you using?

S4 (i9500) crashing and freezing at lock screen

hi guys i have an issue with my device (i9500) since i had a bad efs partition which i successfully restored from a backup.
The device works perfectly, but as soon as you lock it, and wait a few seconds, you can't unlock it anymore. Screen stays black, and the only way to get it started again is by removing the battery. Then it keeps on working perfectly, apps, games, everything is fine, as long as you don't lock it (by pressing powerbutton or auto lock)
Either then it crashes or restarts.
Things i've done already:
- Soft reset
- Hard reset + cache wiped
- tried many different roms
- fresh stock rom installed with Odin.
Problem still persists.
I've recently discovered that I don't have this problem on miui 7 running on 4.4 2. But as soon as I install flyme which is on 5.0.1 or any other lollipop rom or even stock lollipop then the phone either crashes while I'm using it or freezes at lockscreen and I can't unlock it. Please help guys cause I really wanna get back to my flyme rom on lollipop.

weird issue

After resetting...voume buttons work to change volume. After a while, they either don't work or bog the system. I access stock recovery and factory resf...works for a while and starts acting up again. Any advice? I even odin'ed stock rom
I flashed a stock rom... accessed stock recovery and then factory reset. Works great now.
