Constantly losing HDMI to TV - Nexus Player Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Recently when I change inputs to use my NP the screen is blank and I need to restart the player to get an image on the screen.. The signal doesn't drop when I'm using it, only when I switch inputs, and come back a few hours, or a day later. This seems to happen daily..
Stock non rooted with 5.1
Thanks.

I have the same issue. I can unplug hdmi cable and plug it back in and that works for me. I am on Stock Rooted 5.1.

Anyone else experience and or resolve this?
It's no longer happening as frequently, but happens about once a week or so..

This happens every time for me on 5.1.1. I have no issues on 5.0 but the player auto updates. I've searched everywhere for an answer.

[Q] GT7510 32gb keeps switching off

Hi
Has anyone experienced that the tablet switches off constantly with out any any specific reason?
I could easily surf or read an email without switching off.. but then i would watch a movie and it switch off instantly or the other way around and its not even shutting down.. it just goes from powered on, to completely switched off.. It does not get hot and it does charge perfectly and the battery level does not drop/discharge radically.. it has never been dropped or manhandled. and it started doing last week
I'm on stock 3.2 PDA:KMP CSC:KMP (XAB), not rooted..
Any ideas, suggestions?
Thanks in advance

I used to own a Galaxy Tab plus 7.0, which experienced this known problem of random reboot and/or sleep of death. You could google that to find out more.
I've since returned it for a refund. Then I picked up this used P7500 a month ago. It has not experienced not even one reboot. Sure, apps do crash from time to time, but the OS never completely froze.
How long have you owned your unit? If relatively new, I would returned it. If for a while, and only recently you experienced the problem, then I would do a factory wipe, or at least re-trace your steps and uninstall the last few apps. Also, ask yourself whether the problem is already related to certain apps. If so, get rid of those apps.
hi
Did a complete wipe.. so now its close as possible to factory default..
Could it be a battery calibration error? it works plugged in to either pc or wall socket.. works 10min after but then switches of randomly
Thanks for all the help/suggestions so far really appreciate it!
I know some mentioned the option of returning it.. But its bought in the US and im located in Denmark!

Rebooting often with bluetooth

Greetings,
I'm asking this question in name of my brother, whom I have given my nexus 4 when switching to a nexus 5.
Often when he uses bluetooth to connect to his car, his nexus 4 reboots, with date and hour completely reset. Also, recently the phone randomly shut down because it had 0 charge left, however the phone was practically just recharged. I never had any problems, but then again, I never used bluetooth.
Additional info: the phone is not rooted and is on android 4.4.
Is this any known problem?

He is not rooted and not tech savvy. Also, I'm not going to root the phone for him or he will come to me every time there's a problem. Isn't there any other way?

Try flashing the factory images for him.
Sorry for digging up this sort of old thread.
I have similar problems on my N4 with CyanogenMod 11 (04/12 Nightly, Cm11 stock kernel). I use a Sony Smartwatch 2 and while connected, it'll randomly reboot, particularly while updating/dowloading from the Play Store. Im going to try a newer nightly and if not the latest factory image to report.

[Q] WiFi issues on Nvidia tegra note 7

I just bought an Nvidia tegra note 7 and I'm having issues with the WiFi. The device's WiFi keeps getting disconnected. I noticed this problem first when I was downloading an OTA update. It would keep stopping periodically and then start again. I dont think its a problem with my router coz my phone and laptop work fine.
Any ideas on what I should do?

I recelled that happening a new times on my device back when it was on 4.2 JB, seems to have been fixed with 4.4.2 update. My quick fix was just to OFF/ON the tablet, sometimes, going into AIRPLANE MODE, and switching back to normal mode would work too.
I recommend you just download the KIT KAT UPDATE.ZIP and load it manually from the SD card instead, of OTA
I'm curious, are you using the slide cover? I always had issues with the touchscreen when waking the tablet by opening the cover, and in helping someone else with that issue, he mentioned that he thought it might be the reason he was having wi-fi issues as well. I've never had any wi-fi issues myself, but it's worth a shot!

Yes, I am using the slide cover as well, and no wifi issues after updating to 4.4.2, but I am still experiencing "ghost" random double tapping on my device. Quite annoying, and its been mentioned a few times in other postings. I hope its really a software problem, and not a defect with the digitaizer.
You might want to try cycling the screen off and back on with the power button after opening the cover. This is a software issue that has existed since this tablet released. If the screen still does this after a sleep/wake cycle with the power button, then it could be a hardware issue.
I've been having the same problem. Very annoying. Will updating to 4.4 fix anything?

In general being on Kit Kat is awesome, better than JB. The external SD card being only READ ONLY is really the biggest problem after the update. The tablet has to be connected to a computer to add/remove items.
If you dont use a MicroSD card on yours, even better. HP hasnt gotten around to updating the permissions to let their own HP FILE MANAGER cant write to the external SD card....
Way out

Its most probably an issue with the JB4.2(from my xp).An update to JB4.3 or KK4 would do.

New firmware update 32.2.A.0.305 for Z4T

Hi,
New firmware 32.2.A.0.305-R4C is rolling out, see on Xpericheck.
probably the same update as the Z5:
http://www.xperiablog.net/2016/10/07/new-firmware-32-2-a-0-305-rolling-for-xperia-z5-family/
Since the last update, which should solve problems with bluetooth paired devices (that I haven't had), the BKB 50 doesn't conntect to the Tablet anymore. when I unpair an the pair the device it works for two minutes an then It doesen't work anymore.
Hardware reset of the keyboard didn,'t change anything. So, if you update have that in mind... and does anybody have an idea what I can do about it?

I just tested it with my HP Bluetooth keyboard - works with US keyboardlayout. I would have to change that with e.g. External Keyboard Helper.
You could try a factory reset of the tablet.
Or with root access and tools like Titanium Backup delete selectively the data of the bluetooth related apps or work on the command line via adb shell.
I had some issues with battery life in the previous build - some process drained the battery in idle mode in < 10 hours. I figured something with the Google system apps.
With the new build it seems to me the slope of the battery stats went from 30° to 10° and my usage pattern.
Best I had with my SGP712 so far.

HI,
Just tested with a generic bluetooth keyboard and no problem ( I never had a problem with the bluetooth with this tablet on many Devices)
I hope this update fixes my problem with videos / animated gifs being unable to play after x time. A reboot fixes that, but it's damn annoying on a media consumption device..

If it happens on original firmware it may help to post on Sony's official Z4 Tablet forum to better get their attention.
I should do the same once I know if the failing media playback issue also happens on stock.

anyone else experiencing random shutdown issue

Hi there,
I have been experiencing random shutdown on my one plus 5. It happened twice in 15 mins when I was listening to Spotify on my headphones.
Not sure if it's to do with the latest update or not .
Just wondering if anyone experienced this. I have also post on the 1+ community , hoping it's just some software glitch. Overall, it's an impressive phone. Oneplus should sort out there glitches before shipping the product out tho.
Yeah software glitch maybe try resetting your phone ..haven't had random reboots on mine so every device is not having it...if you can ..then replace yours otherwise enjoy it... there's always custom Roms...btw have u updated all software updates yet

Probably a malfunctioning app, try a safe boot to see if it happens again or data factory reset.

Nope all good here.
Happened today to my phone. Weird. Didn't happen again. I guess is a software bug or an app not working well.

It only happened when I was using Spotify when my headphones plugged in.
All good here as well. Hmm. Spotify? That's strange. Have you tried other apps? Like black player?

Hello, it happened to me this night, I was surprised when I woke up that my phone was on the pin-code screen. I didn't shut down my phone just put the plane mode. (4.5.5)
Happens to mine. Maybe 4-5 times since I got it. On 4.5.5.
Like, I will not use my phone, pull it out if my pocket and it'll be black, non responsive. I'm not completely sure if it's shut off already, or just non responsive, and need force shutdown.
Not much more to add than this :b
I have not experienced any random shutting down.
Any fix to that? I've had that happened to mine 7 times already since I got mine on June 26th. I've had the issue yesterday while sending a sticker on Facebook Messenger to a contact, and a couple of minutes before whilst playing Pokemon Go ... this is really borring. The last two times it happened, there was an update waiting to be installed (well, on the german servers at least, since I didn't have the update here in Belgium but once I used a proxy, I could download and install it), not this time tho.
I love the phone but my GF just told me to switch as if she has a problem or if I have a problem and can't use the phone, this would be really bad. I would prefere not to change, so if you guys have a solution, I'm all ears

That also happened to me more than twice. Not only in the night. Most time if the phone will be charged. I use only the dash charger. I didn't put it in plane mode. Strange problem. I have no idea why this happens. In this situation the alarm clock or anything else isn't working.

I don't understand why it's happening even in their 5 series. The 3 series has this stupid problem as well. Really frustrating. One Plus needs to get a grip and get rid of this glitch ASAP if they wish to remain in the game.
