I tried a lot of 5 and 5.1 rom and i found myself missing 4.4.4 with Xposed.
I don't have the time anymore to flash every few days and i want a consistent daily driver that do not slow down after 1 month of use.
On my previus phone, a Nexus S, people started to roll back to gingerbread for this reason, while i think this is a little too extreme, now i understand their toughts.
I'm the only one here?
You're certainly the only one to break rule 2.1 with your post subject line. ** instead of letters is still a nono. As for your question, there's probably not a lot here that agree since a good portion of XDA is about rom development and this entire forum is devoted to development. Many, like myself enjoy tinkering with their phone setup and software. As an occasional beta tester for Microsoft, I do the same with my PC.
Because of battery drain I roll back to 4.4.4 waiting for stable 5.0.2 or 5.1

Lollipop is not that great upgrade at all for any device
it's too immature, but I'm sure it will improve progressively.
If you don't like it, just revert to KitKat... XDA gives you all the tools needed
Instead, if you need Xposed on Lollipop, there's an alpha2 version that works fine and Gravitybox already works on it :good: :victory:
Comunque complimenti per il titolo... sempre a farci riconoscere... bah!

If you do not want to flash a rom every 2 days then don't.
Please read rule 2 of the xda rules

Hello all,
srry but im dont have 10 post yet, but I'm having trouble,
im using for long time cyanoge 7, after 9 and now the version 10.
But when im install version CM10-20120819-NIGHTLY-milestone2.zip, the phone works perfectly, cam, apps, switching screens is smooth, and it is pretty fast.
But if I install any other version that has left with improvements, the phone gets very, very, very slow, can not even write a message, anyone know what this might be, is it nescessário perform the downgrade to version CM10-20120830-NIGHTLY-milestone2.zip for example?
Thanks for help.

I guess reading the OP from this thread and the changelog was a bit hard ?
It's simple, that version is the last one with Froyo kernel support, all the subsequent ones don't.
It's why it's stated IN THE FIRST POST that IF you come from Froyo kernel (which is forced if you were on the CM7 from this forum basically), you HAVE to update to either the Chinese GB kernel (linked in the first post by Tezet) OR make an sbf update of your phone with the latest GB European kernel before flashing the new CM10.

There is a whole discussion thread about CM10 explaining how to work with it, the steps to install it in the op of the CM10 thread (or the CM9 ones, or the one in MS2 General forum explaining how to install CM9 on LatAm phones and other EU phones, and so on, on top of it being explaining like 10 times in Questions and Troubleshooting or the actual CM10 thread...).
As a registered user you accepted the rules of XDA, using the search function and searching before a question is one MANDATORY rule.
Being a lazzy ass not even wanting to go read the TITLES of the first page of the forums and/or the last 2 pages of the troubleshooting thread or the first 2 pages of the discussion and dev topics of a ROM is kind of painful......

Please read the very first post by Tezet. Tezet didn't provide Froyo support in his latest rom. So please follow his instructions to fix it.
If this cannot help you, I will suggest you to do full wipe and flash the newest rom again. It's amazing. I love it.
Your problems here could have been avoided by taking the five minutes necessary to read the first post of Tezet's thread completely mate.
As such, this thread is unnecessary, and I'm going to close it.
Please everyone, before you go flashing ANYTHING to your precious devices, make sure you read the fine print first!!!!
Hi guys! This is my first time posting on this forum, but i have come to many threads as a visitor to figure out problems regarding my google nexus 4 and i have to say this is one of the most useful forums ever! I can find nearly everything here, its totally awesome..
now to the point, my question is Which one gives faster and better performance? Cm10.1 or combination of kernel franco r136 and rom paranoid android alpha? because i recently saw a video on youtube where this person was testing custom nexus 4 vs stock samsung s4 and using only franco r136 and paranoid rom he increased his performance by A LOT (compared to my antutu benchmark which was utterly disappointing.. around 16.5k ) without overclocking..
if the combination is better than how to install the kernel and rom (can anyone link me to a noobs guide to installing roms and kernels?) because i just rooted my phone 3 days ago without checking the "custom recovery check box" .. (btw, the nexus root toolkit 1.7.2 is awesome!!!) ..
i am currently running stock kernel and rom i think and my phone is only rooted.. (kernel version: 3.4.0 and build number jwr66y)..
Thanks for reading my first post and thread!

oke a question though.. since posting in that thread without actually trying to install a rom or kernel would be useless..
if i make a backup of all my apps.. and say i install cm10.1 or the combination i mentioned in my first post.. will i be able to restore my apps using the nexus root toolkit or will i have to install all my apps from again..?
I have a touchwiz device so im not fully qualified to answer your question. Thats why I gave you a ask any question for your device thread. Most members use apps like titanium backup to back there apps up

After trying lots of ROMs 5.1.1 and 6 that didn't make me happy I'm back on stock 5.0.1 which was the last release for my phone. I like it the best since it's the only ROM that hasn't major bugs and it remains fast over time where the custom ROMs suffer from major lag after time and weird crashes I do not experience in the stock ROM.
I would like however to get rid of all the bloatware.
Is there a stock ROM which is optimised and debloated? I don't seem to find one and I've looked around believe me.
Hope anyone has a good tip.
Sorry bro,can't help you but
There is a rule where you shouldn't post "what ROM to chose"
So your thread needs to be closed

I don't think you actually can ask people for these kind of stuff on the Original Android forum.. This need to be asked in General Stuff i think or its just not asked and try yourself or in the ROM forums itself to ask how stock it is i dont know.
Ok thanks
Mods will move this thread to Q&A shortly, but if you're looking for customized stock ROMs, you want to look in the Development subforums, instead of the ORIGINAL Android Development subforums.
I'd like to use CM12.1 (marshmallow) but I realize there still are no stable release? Why? Is it not good enough yet?
I've had a pretty bad experience with CM on my old Galaxy S4 so I'm a little afraid to remove the stock recovery and ROM from my Moto X Play. I want to make sure that it's bug free (or as buggy as stock) and suitable for day use. In other words I want to flash it and know it's fully reliable. Given the fact that there are only nightly releases, are they reliable enough for this?
Thanks

I can't vouch for the latest releases, as my xplay has been broken for like 3 months now, but being a nightly doesn't inherently make it unstable. Stable builds are usually relabeled nightlies. I say give it a shot. You can always go back to stock if you don't like it, unless you're speaking about voiding warranty

Oh! I thought nightlies were unstable releases. So before yours broke, you had a good experience? No problem with camera or other stuff?
It's not really a question of warranty but rather just not having any issues when I need it to work. For instance, with my Galaxy S4, the camera kept crashing while I was out with my kids so I lost time trying to make it work when I wanted to take a picture. That's the kind of thing I wouldn't want happening just because I got another ROM.
Indeed I did (have a good experience). If you're every unsure of a nightly, head to the thread. You'll usually find one or several people commenting if it's no good.

Yeah I had a look (I just realized I was talking about CM13 not 12.1) but given there are now 205 pages I thought I'd ask about the nightly situation in a different thread.
I think I may try it and restore it from the ROM available in the forum.
Oh and I keep wondering, given Motorola never actually released the ROM, how can someone make it available?
I m using nightly for like 3 months ......and I can say nightly is far better than stock if you are looking for customization and speed. I recently tried to go back to stock 6.0.1 but that experience is so "LAGGY" that I again return back to CM.I can say that CM nightly build working best for me with my requirements(like gaming and also photography and editing and HEAVY Customization and many more ) . and about custom recovery,it's a must have tool I suggest as with that I can return back to my previous builds. SO i recommend to go for NEW CM build, but in the end it's upto you.
and if u r still fearing about NIGHTLIES then flash the custom recovery(twrp) and then make backup of whole stock system and then do whatever U want to.
Btw this is the wrong forum to discuss things

fake? I'm using a Paranoid a13 beta test, so far we can't give a release, the fingerprint doesn't work well, the glyph is being finalized, do you want a raw product and then cry to the developers?
The developers of Paranoid do the hardest job if the developers NothingOS lazy asses

One question: how You flash Paranoid custom rom on our Nothing Phone? Via TWRP ora Orange? Orange is still in test.
Il will be important to have a recovery in order to get a Nandroid backup, now, solving future bricks or others problems...
Thanks

the beta version is installed fastbootd through the firmware of all the necessary sections through flash.bat slot b in the same way you can return to nothingOS. I don’t know how the release will be installed.

A Google Phone would be better for modding. Or any other big flagship with open source kernel. Sadly OnePlus is really bad now. I bought a 10 Pro for a Family Member. Its ColorOS now and does not support "real root" anymore.
I really hope Nothing will be more open for modding in the feature so far its a great device.

If you want directly custom rom, don't asking for custom rom for a device out there 2 months ago.
For sure Nothing Phone 1 will have a lot of custom rom in the future, first release/base is the rule for that.
It's better to be patient and have a good custom rom instead a rom incomplete or unstable.
Above all, installation/recovery is missing for the moment (only cuctom rom can be instalable by sideload)
and a lot of people are not ready to install a custom rom by this way, without a custom recovery.
