Massive moto360 battery drain from multimedia controls - Wear OS Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I get really great battery life on my moto 360 normally. I never worry about getting through a day, routinely getting 20 or more hours. However, whenever I use google play music or pocket casts, the battery life tanks irrespective of whether I am actually using the watch. I do not use the watch for multi media controls however there is no way to disable them so they are always there. Today on a long trip I listened to over 4 hours of podcasts and my watch battery was dead within 6 hours. The same happens with Google play music. This has occurred on two different phones now and after a fresh reset of the watch and a re-pairing to a new phone.

DHD doesnt get to sleep mode when music runs

Hello,
when listening to music, the DHD doesn't get to sleep mode anymore. That means the two times in the battery info are exactly the same (sry, have a german DHD, don't know how all the menus are called in english, awake-time, active time, something like that). Also, the extended phone info (*#*#4636#*#*) says that the phone is in use nearly 90% of the time, even when the display is off. Is it plausible that listening to music does cause such a big CPU load? Not to mention the terrible battery life... When not listening to music, I can easily get 2 days without charging. With music, its around 10 hours... When turning music off, everything is fine then, proper sleep mode etc...
Regards
Oliver
How do you do it to have it work for two days? In my case, some play with it during the day and it doesn't make it till 5 I already did most i'Ve found about the batery and it doesn't bet any better... Awake time is close to uptime as well anyway.

Music apps draining battery

i'm running overcome 2.3.1 and it seems just about every music app i've tried is draining my battery like mad.
google play music will not let my tablet sleep, poweramp has wakelock running all the time and won't let the tablet sleep, cube same deal. i stopped testing there and refuse to use my tablet as a music player no and regulate that to one of my phones - droid charge, which seems to have the problem also. i won't install any music players on my et4g since i'd like to have at least on phone that isn't drained by the end of the day.
this happens with or without widgets on the home screens. any suggestions on a player that won't drain the battery and allow the tablets and phones to sleep?
Same problem here :/
Mediaserver always needs between 50% and 80% battery.
MIUI-Music
Winamp
PlayerPro
MSeiz5

Why does listening to a podcast drain my battery so fast?

I use Doggcatcher to listen to podcasts on my N4. The episodes are auto-downloaded at night, so they're stored internally and I listen to them while I'm driving. Problem is, just listening to a podcast drains my battery by about 15% per hour. That's essentially using as much power as if I have the screen on browsing the Internet. Why is this? Listening to a locally stored file should consume essentially no battery at all.
Whenever I use Doggcatcher 'Mediaserver' is listed at the top of my battery list, and it shows that the "Keep Awake" time is equal to my listening time, i.e. the device is being kept awake the entire time I'm listening to a podcast.
Any suggestions for more efficient podcast listening?
It's funny to see this thread as just this morning I was pleasantly surprised that my phone only went down 4% during my 50 minute commute while listening to a podcast the whole time. I use Pocket Cast and it auto downloads too, so everything playing locally.

+1 for Pocket Cast. Great app. I think it's only $3 too, half of what the other app devs are asking for.
Just did a quick test using Doggcatcher (Ver. 1.2.3883) and only lost 2% in 30 min listening to a locally stored podcast.

[Q] Play Music draining my battery

Soo, I'm experiencing very high battery drain trough Media Server.
When I click on it, it shows "Downloads", "Media Storage", "Download Manager" & "DRM Protected Content".
I'm currently running uXylon 2.9.0 (4.2.2) if it helps, while I haven't heard from anyone having the same problems.
The problem started ever since I installed Play Music, it suddenly starts consuming battery like a mad man,
when I uninstall Play Music, the problems seems to be solved, as Media Server stops showing a higher drain than my SoT
and I get overall better battery life, but even so my SoT usually caps at 2 hrs with sync off, gps off, nfc off...
I just don't get it, what's wrong? I used to get 4-5 hrs SoT, should I change ROM?
I am new to N4. I get around 2 hrs of SoT. ( with playing like max 10 mins of gaming - like subway surfer ). Most of the time, the phone is with 2G data, and whatsapp. That's it. what is wrong with my phone?
Settings->accounts/google/click name, untick sync google play music .. having it on makes any new song you put on your phone upload to the cloud.
For better battery, turn off all the crap, use low brightness for the screen.

Sudden and extreme battery drain

Hey all.
It's the second time my battery has been drained from 50%+ to 0 in about 12min . It happens when I stream music over google play app and Bluetooth. Something I have been doing plenty times over and over again. I'm on NBD91K Build . Rooted. Anyone else?
My gf reports that her N6p, NBD90X (at&t), has died on numerous accounts in the past month where she would have 25-40% remaining battery life and then went to 0. Battery usage graph would show the severe and sudden drop in percentage. Haven't found a real solution at this time.
Yes, I noticed similar issue couple of days back with play music when connected to car Bluetooth. I played music for around ten minutes and saw that play music had taken 12℅ of battery.
I am on 7.1.1 DP2
