notice the google maps keeps phone wake very long time! does any experience the same or something is wrong?
One thing to do is make sure location reporting or check-in services, whatever it's called in maps settings is turned off. Or go to latitude and make sure everything is turned off, but even still when on wifi especially if you have GPS turned on Google Maps reports location data way way too much. Usually when I'm on Wifi on my note I'm at home so I will leave GPS turned off and battery life is much better.
I dont use gps on phone and they are off, same with all settings in lockations. Still battery drain is annoing but phone lives like one day and a half

oops wrong thread. deleting.
I have a 2013 Nexus 7 32GB and turned off "scanning always available" option (let Google's location service and other apps scan for networks, even when Wi-Fi is off) and set "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleeping" to never.
The table should not turn wireless off and on during sleeping, right?
Look at the attachement and the power meter shows that wifi turned off and on while the screen was turned off.
I didn't have this problem with 2012 Nexus 7.
Is this a bug with 2013 Nexus 7?

Other apps can turn on WiFi. Maybe its an installed app?
I had a similar problem and used Greenify to hibernate several apps. That solved it for me.

Try turning off wifi optimization. That's how mine is configured with the rest identical and wifi shows solid.
tried the above but still didn't work. I'll try wakelock detector and upload screenshots.
Hi guys, I recently just enabled Google now on my LG G2 D802. I only enabled data(GSM/WCDMA auto) and then on GPS with brightness at 30% and volume at 30% as well. My battery started to delete fast. About 1%per2mins when screen is off. When I'm using, the battery drepletes about the same. Any tips I can save more battery?
Disable Location Services.

Remember that location services only turn on when an application needs them...having them "turned" on in Sytem Settings only makes them available for use if needed...otherwise they do not use battery...so the culprit here is Google Now, not location services. Turn off Google Now "NOW" and see if that isn't the real problem.
Not at all true. Before activating Google Now, in the app Google Settings, under Location, Location Reporting and Location History where off, now they are on and keep track of your every movement. Turn them off, Google Now does not require them, they only sharpen your location tracking. Your battery will return to normal, and Google Now will work just fine.
AFAIK, with Access Location (under Google Settings) turns ON, even with Location Reporting and Location History OFF, the NIpWakeLock and NIpCollectorWakeLock are still running like crazy. Is it really a source of battery depletion? Someone said yes, some others say no.
Those wakelocks definitely kill the battery faster, as they don't allow the phone to enter deep sleep, and they're constantly cycling the CPU.

I don't want GPS on all the time but I want location on. If I turn on location and select power saving (wifi and network only) then turn off GPS, location gets turned off. Can someone check if it happens on to them?

I'm using the latest Xtrestolite ROM with stock kernel, and I'm experiencing considerable battery drains and wakelocks when using the airplane mode.

I think Google Services is the one causing wakelocks, but WLD shows Cloudmagic despite it being one of the best behaved apps. My location reporting is turned off, locations services set to GPS only, and WIFI scanning even when off is also turned off. Please help me fix this issue.
