I've been on T-mobile for a long time, but finally needed better coverage and switched to Cricket. My poor Nexus 4 is stuck in Android 5.0 hell, and I'm desperately waiting for the 5.1 update to fix things. Will I still get the OTA update now that I'm on Cricket? I wasn't sure if it's the carrier or manufacturer or Google that the OTA updates originate from.

Hello,
I have the Verizon XV6700. I went to Verizon's site to update it however the update is no longer available. Does anyone know where I can get the Verizon updates for my phone?
I bought my phone in the US but I flew abroad without any activation with Verizon carrier. now my phone stuck android 4.4.2 never update OTA
How can I update manually my phone ?
edit: now I use local carrier
Does anyone know?
I've debloated my Sprint S7 via package disabler pro...however, some Samsung and Sprint services use up quite a bit of ram. A few searches on Google lead me to flashing an "unlocked firmware", which is fully Sprint free (in terms of useless apps and services) and pretty light on Samsung bloat.
My 2 questions are:
If I flash this firmware, will I still be able to do traditional software updates via the phone, or by Odin?
&
Can anyone point me to this firmware (ones I saw are for the Edge variant and ATT, TMobile, etc).
Sorry if these are simple questions, I've never owned a Samsung device before, although I do have experience of HTC and Google devices.
Thanks
You will always be able to flash back or update with odin. The bloat free firmware your looking for is for the G930U, it isn't carrier specific or loaded with any carrier services. With this said you probably will not receive OTA updates from Sprint (or any carrier you use) since youll be on a non carrier loaded ROM.

Ah ok thanks. I guess I'll stick with stock Sprint for now.
I flashed 930u on my Sprint phone probably about a year ago and I get all OTA updates no problem. Nougat was sent out a few weeks ago. I would never go back to stock sprint firmware, but its nice to know that I can if I ever needed. I would flash 930u asap IMHO.
Edit: and yes I have Sprint. Maybe Samsung releases the firmware OTA for 930u, not sure but I know for a fact that they are OTA.

Just got the update 4BQE2 firmware update last night. I got the nougat upgrade about a month ago im I'm on the 930U. Both from OTA on my wifi
Flashed! But have a few more questions
Last night I flashed the US G930U firmware. Its quick and faster than sprint.
However, I don't have HD Calling anymore nor Wifi Calling. Is there a fix?
The HD call is kinda a bummer
EDIT: enabled wifi calling in phone app, but no HD calling yet? fix?
Hey everyone. So back in March my wife and I both got new S10+s. I noticed recently that my wife's phone hasn't recieved any updates at all since she got the phone! Shes still on ASD3 firmware, March Security patch, etc. I don't think she's even gotten the fingerprint sensor fix update because her sensor is a pain to use compared to my phone. My phone has been updating regularly.
I tried calling AT&T customer support and they were pretty much useless. Any recommendations? Should i just look up the updates on XDA and flash the phone to the newest patch myself with Odin or something?
That's very odd given the phone forces updates by itself. Make sure your wifi connection is good. Try going to settings and manually clicking on software update. If that doesn't work just download the firmware from XDA here and flash it with that special version of ODIN. Due note that by flashing thru ODIN it will erase everything I think like a factory data reset does.
Is your wife using an AT&T SIM? It's probably a dumb question but AT&T doesn't update phones with their firmware if a non AT&T SIM is being used. It has to be actual AT&T - - they won't update if the SIM from an AT&T MVNO like Cricket is installed either.
If your wife has AT&T but different service plan as an experiment you could put your SIM in her phone and see if any updates show up.
Your AT&T S10+ should be on G975USQS2ASl6 latest firmware with Sept. Security. Do not know why it does not Auto update as mine does on Wifi.
My wifes tmobile one has the same issue, stuck on June patch. I'll be odin flashing it this weekend.
I have an LG V350AWM, which was apparently made for the Mexican market. It's unlocked - I got it off Ebay a year or so ago. It's running Android 8.0.0. I'm using it on Cricket, in the U. S.
I check regularly for updates in settings, but have never been offered any - either security patches, or Android 9. I read somewhere that unlocked AT&T phones can only be updated over the air???
I'd rather stay with Android 8 that risk bricking a $300 phone, but is there any way to update the firmware on this phone?
