OS VERSION : 4.4.2 KITKAT ( FROM 4.3 JB ) { manually updated }
# I am a perfect noob and i have no custom stuffs and im running on pure stock rom :crying:
A FEW WEEKS BACK..I ROOTED MY PHONE AND WAS STUCK IN A BOOTLOOP (MY MISTAKE).....SO ONE OF THE XDA DEVELOPERS TOLD ME TO INSTALL A STOCK ROM VIA ODIN.....AND IT WORKED PERFECT...AND IS NOW A PERFECTLY UNROOTED PHONE ......
BUT..... (((
I NOTICED THAT AFTER DOING ALL THIS I NOTICED THAT I LOST ALMOST 1 GB OF MY INTERNAL STORAGE...!!! INTIALLY IN THE FIRST PLACE...OUT OF 8 GB TOTAL...I HAD ACCESS TO 7.5 GB I GUESS(which is normal)..... BUT AFTER ALL THIS NOW I HAVE ONLY 5.2 GB PHONE STORAGE.....!!!!!!! :crying:
***WHAT I THINK IS THAT THE PREVIOUS STOCK ROMS DATA MUST STILL BE HIDING THERE AS A JUNK....!****
(am i right?)......BEFORE INSTALLING THE STOCK ROM VIA ODIN...I DID A FACTORY RESET AND SOME CACHE THINGY THROUGH THE STOCK RECOVERY (i had no custom recovery stuffs)....
ON TOP OF ALL OF THIS........MY BATTERY DRAINS A BIT QUICK (not the extreme case) THAN IT WAS INITIALLY........ PLUS IT HEATS UP PRETTY FAST !
I BEG U ......PLEASE HELP ME TO REMOVE THE JUNK (if it is the case)...I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY ANSWER ANSWERED IN A NOOB FRIENDLY WAY ...

[Q] Rooting and Installing Rocket Rom V7

Hello Everyone,
I have few questions which I know might have been answered before (and I appologize for that) but after seeing different responses, I am a bit confused. So here are my questions:
1) I've updated my galaxy note with the official ICS via OTA but after updating it my phone has gone slower and laggy and facing the problem of fast battery draining. So I've decided to install a custom Rom. So please suggest which ROM is best which is stable, fast and have a good battery. I have downloaded Rocket Rom V7. How is it?
2) To Install this ROM I know I have to root my phone but I have read that a lot of ppl bricked their phone. So is it safe to root this phone and if yes what is the best procedure. I have seen posted in other threads that some kernels are not safe. I am posting my Kernel version can u please tell me if it is safe to root and if yes which is the best way.
Android Version: 4.0.3
Kernel Version: 3.0.15-N7000DDLP8-CL551076
Build Number: IML74K.DDLPA
Kindly suggest. Thanks in advance .
Can any one please help....
I suggest you to use LiquidSmooth 2.3. Brilliant rom, the best I have tried on Note. But notice it only got english language.
/CK
Yes! its totally safe when done in the right manner....download stock LP3 rom...GB..from stock roms thread...download pc odin and unlockroot software from unlockroot.com...
Now put your mobile to download mode..vol up then lock then menu...press all 3 until you see a android bot...click continue...
Make sure u hav kies installed in pc...open pc odin software...connect ur phone to the pc..click on PDA in pc odin and direct it to the LP3 rom you downloaded..and click on start...wait till everything is done..your phone restarts in GB mod...enable usb debugging and connect it again..open unlock root software and click root..
You have a perfectly rooted phone and safe too...now just follow the steps of RR...download RR and redpill recovery..go to CWM. .vol down and lock and menu...flash redpill..go to advanced and hit Reboot Recovery. .go to wipe menu and do all 3wipes...flash RR..

[HELP] Questions about the warming of the Galaxy S4 4G

Hello guys , I am here today and I have some doubts about the Galaxy S4 .
I have my device for 5 months , and now I've noticed a few things on my device .
I'll try to get the maximum information that I have .
When XXUBMGA ROM was released , I bought my device , and the first hours of use , I did root , installed the ROM XXUBMGA pre rooted and restored the backup of my old device .
On the second day of use , I installed Kernel KTOONSEEZ SGS4 , and soon thereafter it began my problem started , warmed up the phone a lot, and the battery lasted very little in compaaração with kernel Samsung device that keeps the cold .
AdamKernel installed , I found that the most stable KtoonSeez
Shortly thereafter , I installed the mod - Comadose Crossbreeder , performance improved considerably , but not solved the problem of heating of the device .
I used the ROM XXUBMGA long, Knox knew of the problem , and was very reluctant to update my dispostivo , when he left the recently updated ROMs with Knox Free here at XDA .
But the problem worsened beyond absurd heating device , battery consumption has increased considerably .
The temperature of my Galaxy S4 , using for 10 minutes using the browser Next Browser is 54-63 ° C.
I wonder if this is normal in a Galaxy S4 4G ( read the signature . )
Using a Galaxy S4 4G 16GB + 64GB SD ( exFAT ) .
Thanks in advance .
Sorry for the english is not my native language .

NEWBIE @ LG G2 : starting... from what rom...

Hi all,
as u perhaps already know, after almost 3 years with my beloved LG 2X, I bought the LG G2 D802 32 GB last week
Now... I've installed the LG Drivers onto my Win 8.1... I've rooted the phone and installed TWRP recovery.
It's time to flash my first custom rom on the new little monster
But what rom ? I've seen that some roms are sized 1 GB while others... 200 MB ( as almost all roms of my other android' based devices ). Obvioulsy I've looking for a 4.4.2 rom. From what rom it's better to begin ? Actually, what's most stable 4.4.2 rom ?
Thx in advance

It depends upon your choice either Stock or AOSP based.
Start with PA4.1 or CyanoGenMOD 11.

As I can remember, for example, for my 2X... I held the stock original rom for first 4 days Then only cyanogen, paranoid, pacman, kang etc etc rom, I think all cyano's based I've always thought the cyanogen with reduced sizes rather than stock may be slim, lite and fastest than stock... My opinion, my hope.
PS If I use hot reboot or a similar app to reboot into recovery, no problem. TWRP starts, I'm able to backup the system, etc. If I use the vol - & power on button, no way to enter into TWRP

1. Power off the phone.
2. Hold Vol Down + Power button
3. When LG logo flashes leave power button and hold it again (Don't leave volume down button)
4. You will reach to Hard Reset menu press power button twice
5. Instead of hard resetting you will be moved to TWRP/CWM.

PA 4.1
Nameless rom
cyanogenmod 11
slimkat (but i had an overheating issue)
First, you have to decide between AOSP exeprience or LG Android experience. I tried several AOSP ROM-s cuz KK but went always back to the modified stock ROM's. Why?
a) QuickWindow.
b) There are some LG Apps I like (QuickRemote, SplitView tec)
c) I use my G2 with my corporate exchange mail account and have never used a better email application than the LGEmail before. I can set out of office replies from the application.
d) Not a big deal but I really like the weather animation on my lockscreen.
e) I cannot live without the horizontal quick settings and became frustrated on the classical quick settings on any AOSP ROM (even if there are some 3rd party solutions).
My personal recommendation: do not play with 4.4.2 (LG) ROM-s, try CloudyFlex 1.4 - very nice and stable. As long as there is no official update from LG for open phones and no custom recovery on KK and no Xposed 2.5 I won't switch to 4.4.2.
However, everything is matter of personal taste. Try and decide yourself.

Let me reply :
a) QuickWindow : the possibility of reduce the size of an app, like in windows OS ? Not so usefull, for my usage...
b) There are some LG Apps I like (QuickRemote, SplitView tec) : quick remote is wonderful, I've found the porting of this app for any kind of roms... I've to test it.
c) I use my G2 with my corporate exchange mail account and have never used a better email application than the LGEmail before. I can set out of office replies from the application : I use aqua mail
d) Not a big deal but I really like the weather animation on my lockscreen : not so usefull, for my usage...
e) I cannot live without the horizontal quick settings and became frustrated on the classical quick settings on any AOSP ROM (even if there are some 3rd party solutions) : ya, it's true, really nice
Thx u man
PS I've read that with stock kitkat, there's no way to make usable CWM / TWRP recovery... :-o It's true ?!

with stock KK you will lose custom recovery
Before to attempt to flash my first rom ( PA ), I've read some topics about to recover a bricked phone...
Not very nice to read 32 GB that become 16 GB
There's a guide / help / how to, in order to avoid ANY problem ? Or a guide to recover the phone with correct rom version ( I've a G2 D802 32 GB Italian ) ?

I've ran into these issues whilst not paying attention to what I was doing but have recovered from them all, so its pretty safe, if you want to run stock KitKat there will be custom recovery very soon probably in the next few days as well as fixes for the bugs in aosp as KitKat kernel source has been released, I'm currently running Dirty Unicorn and love it
Sent from my g2 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Nameless
Sent from my LG-D802 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Solved all, without problems. Tried paranoid, droid, liquidsmooth and other 4.4.2 roms without a problem

Hey Guys , I ' m New To Android And New On Xda . I Updated My Yureka To Lollipop Yesterday And I Couldn ' t Tolerate The Lags And Issues So I Decided To Flash MIUI 6 From http://forum.xda-developers.com/yureka/development/rom-miui-v5-2-27-yureka-t3043035 . When I Flashed It According To 2nd Video Instruction By Dj408 , I Had Random Reboot Issue . I Really Dont Want To Go Back To Cm12 Unless The 'Issues Are Solved , Also Wanna Try MIUI . So Please Let Me Know If It ' s Possible To Install The MIUI 6 On My Yureka .
If It Helps :
- I Followed Mounting And Formatting Instructions Exactly As Mentioned In 2nd Video Using CWM , No Mistakes
- I Installed The Rom From SdCard1 Because I Had Not Copied It In Phone Memory
- Also , Before Random Reboot , During MIUI Setup , Wifi Networks Were Not Showing While They Worked On My CM12
- I Did Not Get The Message That Stock Recovery Would Be Installed After Clicking On Reboot System Now
Any Help Would Be Greatly Appreciated . Thanks In Advance

Right now your on CM12 right..... Well sadly I have to say if your on CM12 then you can't downgrade your os now cox cm12 for yureka is based on 64bit and its already instructed before releasing the update and highly mentioned... Do not try to flash CM11 if your flash CM12 other wise your phone will be hard bricked.....
thanks for the reply . i really hate lollipop on yureka , m facing lots of issues like heating on normal usage and slow charging . i hope we get a MIUI port for lollipop soon . will be using unofficial cm12.1 for now
??? I wonder how your handset is still alive after flashing MIUI over cm12s and how you were able to flash unofficial CM12 (32bit) over it again?

yeah , i updated to cm12 lollipop but it had many bugs so tried to flash MIUIv6 ( had no idea downgrade is not supported and might hard brick ) . i had frequent reboot issue on MIUI ROM even after following every instruction correctly . then i switched back to the buggy cm12 . found cm12.1 unofficial on xda and flashed it and the bugs and lags are gone , at least for now . . .

Flashing Cm11 using NexusRootToolkit?

Hi all.
I just downgraded my Nexus7 grouper from Lolipop to KK 4.4.4 using nexusRootToolkit ... the power button on the device is little sensitive nw as its 4 yr old.
nw i iwish to Flash cm11 as the StockOS will always download the latest update and i want the tab to use for reading and browsing mainly. So KK is ok for my need . i have experince in flashing roms in my Moto Defy years back bt as the CM doesnt exist and things have changed a lot way in years and
the problem with power button i dnt want to take risk in flashing the ROM By using custom recovery..
I read in a thread that we can use NexusRootToolkit To flash custom rom.
1. Is that possible by selecting the rom Zip from the Pc
2. Does it Need CustomRecovery already installed?
3. Device is bootlocked. Does it need to be unlocked?
I hope Nexus7 isnt dead for all here . So someone will reposnd for sure ... Thanks again ...
