I'm having a problem with proximity sensor: every time it gets on, it's stays on. I mean, when I make a call, it works as is suposed to work. But when I hang up, block the screen or wherever I do, the sensor is still on. If I pass my finger, it "blink" stronger, like detecting my finger. When I restart the device, it get off.. but when it get used again, it happens the same.
Anybode has the same issue?

when i first got my x10, the proximity sensor worked fine.
but after about after a week of use, it seems to be malfunctioning. when i am in-call, and the phone is next to my face, the screen would turn off, due to the proximity sensor, but then turn back on immediately without removing the phone from my ear.
then after a few more seconds, it would turn off again due to the proximity sensor, and turn on again immediately.
anyone else have this problem? anyone know how to help?
I've been having a really strange issue with my barely two month old Galaxy Note 3. The proximity sensor has been acting really strange lately - it can easily detect when it is being covered, but can't detect when it isn't. Say I am in the middle of a call and I put my phone up to my ear... the screen turns off. If I remove the phone from my ear, it stays off, and won't turn back on unless I hit a physical button. This just started happening, and I have no idea what is causing it. I used a test app and it claims I am 0cm away from the phone (even though it's on the table and I'm at least a foot away). I tried cleaning the sensor, but that didn't do anything. I do have a screen protector, but it is at least a centimeter below the proximity sensor. Air view still works fine. The phone is rooted with Root De La Vega, and I had Wanam Exposed, but I removed it in hopes of fixing the problem. Also, I'm pretty sure there use to be a tiny blue led that checked the proximity, but it doesn't appear to be there anymore (I don't see it turn on). I really don't know what to do, should I RMA the device?
Hi everyone,
since a few weeks i got problems with the proximity sensor on my i9505
First i thought that it is software related but after clean installing a new ROM yesterday i see that the problem still exists...
It happens when the proximity sensor should react, when i am close to it, it reacts and activates but the problem is that it wont turn off again...
i dialed the test menu and went to sensor test, as i see the sensor sees the distance normaly, when i bring it close and when i move it away i see that the numbers react how they should, however after the sensor is once trigerred with a close object it starts to vibrate and the screen turns green (how it should), but after moving away it registers the distance but it won´t stop to vibrate and turn off :/
Anyone who knows what could be wrong?
I have to mention that the display was changed once (because of the glass broke) but it was working normal for months...
EDIT: after testing again i see that the sensor sees the distance just as it should the only problem is that once that the sensor action is triggered to 1.0 from 0.0 it stays at 1.0 no matter if i remove my hand...
Any idea if I can manually tweak proximity sensor behavior? I have problems during call, when I slightly move phone, it seems that it turns on screen for moment and I usually press mic mute button. Happens on every third call, hate it. My idea is to make proximity sensor react slower, for example with 500ms delay. It would be enough to handle these problems when phone turns on screen and I'm stuck with disabled mic.
Phone is rooted, with latest RR.
Hi all, so i poorly replaced my essential phone screen. After starting her back up, it seems as though the proximity sensor always detects something near it. During calls the screen stays dark until the other person hangs up. I have used some apps that say something is directly on it. If i am in call and pull the screen partially off, the screen lights back up as if nothing is detected by the proximity sensory. My essential phone is ROOTED so at this point im hoping to just disable the proximity sensor or at least install a mod to control the sleep during a call (via gesture, etc.) thanks in advance.
