Has anyone heard of this model? I can't find any information on this one on any of the forums. Even Sammobile.com doesn't list this model.
It's supposed to be a Galaxy Tab 4 7.0

H,
can you open a terminal and run
cat /proc/cpuinfo
?
thanks

also post a screenshot of system settings about screens?
Ah.. I don't have it yet. I am buying one (cheap), and was looking up the specs to see how many aftermarket ROMs there were. Seems all the ROMs are for the T230/T230NU.
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galaxy-Tab-7-Inch-White/dp/B00J8DL78O
If you look at the product details at the bottom of the page you can see it is a T230NZWAXAR model. I've never heard of this, thinking it may be a newer "model" of the Tab 4?
Could that be?
H,
doubt it, sounds kind of knock-offy, probably find a better bet on ebay.
if you have to get a 7 inch go for the sm-t237p, it's more likely to get some development being a qualcomm/msm device
m
Hmm.. ok.. thanks for the info.
I did find it on the Samsung site too :
http://www.samsung.com/ca/consumer/mobile/tablets/galaxy-tab-series/SM-T230NZWAXAC
It's a good deal, might consider buying it and just leaving it as is. Its for the kids anyway..
Oh and going to that page.. the model shown is the T230NU. I guess its the same as the NU, maybe with some specific stuff for Canada..
It does look and specs to be an SM-T230NU.

heres the link
A play store fix is provided which is helpful but installation of it is not properly stated in video and caused me to fail first time
corrections are stated below:
download es file manager, once downloaded remember to mount system as writable at bottom in settings of application
also download s3market files provided, i have never used other file provided for calender etc it has no use in mtk6575 versions of the device
store s3market on root of sdcard
copy files within one by one, not together to system location shown
install the com.android.vending-3.5.16.apk file provided in s3market.
fix permissions in properties of files shown
then reboot device
what i have corrected in the procedure will fix the stopped unexpectedly error 100% if done correctly in mtk6575 phones of this device
I'm curious, how do these phones compare to the real thing? I gave up on clone phones after receiving a very bad quality ciphone 09..
Visually Stunning, Functionally a failure...
Be Warned, the HDC Galaxy S3 especially from fastcardtech are not worth the money and mental anguish to get the thing rooted. They come with Gingerbread, and Locked, and full of Chinese Apps. Once you free of that, the Google Sync is limited, so you cannot get your mail, calender, etc synced. Then there is Colonel Zap which is mysteriously the only person in the world prone to be able to root these devices, but be warned again. Only unless you specifically know your Chipset in your phone, MT6577 or 6575, good luck with that, you should be wary of rooting per Col Zap, as in my case, there process bricked one of my two phones from FastCardTech. And don't get me going on FastCardTech, they are complete B.S., takes over a month to accomplish anything, then they send you the lesser model than you pay for. Doesn't matter all the FREE CRAP you will be offered with this phone, doesn't make up for the fact that is is just a great looking shell with poor electronics inside.
Look these phones are from CHINA, the specs offered online are fiction, and are burnt into the kernel of the phone,so it only appears that you are getting what it states online. you are only getting a phone capable of meager performance, NO 4g, 3g, but at lower speeds if your are lucky enough to fit the Mobile Frequency Spectrum the phone runs in, being their made in China, not a U.S. friendly phone in that aspect. Wi-fi is spotty, and the software is crap, bottom line you get what you pay for, and not many resources to get you through the hard times. Good Luck.....!! At least it looks like the real thing you can show off to your friends while they laugh at you.....
Specs do not match and support is very poor
I bought the "Ultimate pro" version from FastcardTech.com (as a new member i am not allowed to post the link) and it does not meet the specs given by them. The GPS took about 2 hours outside to determine my position. After a factory defaults reset i could not find the strength to do this again
The CPU is not the 6577, but the slower 6575. The camera quality is very poor. The wifi signal is very, very weak. (i have a very good and strong router) The sound quality of a phone call is poor. The 'gsm sound' disturbes the conversation all the time, as if you are to close to a speaker. When you complain to FCT, don't expect any customer support. They give to most strange answers and can give no specific support what so ever. After some time, they say i can return the phone, but it's allmost impossible to meet their requirements, so i am pretty sure that when the have it back, i will never hear from them again. (just read the customer feedback on any honest site)
Including tax, shipping and insurance, i paid about 250 euo's for this phone.
If i had known this all on time, i would not have bought it.
But on the other hand, the responsiveness and quality of the screen is good. Gaming goes smooth and after countless factory defaults, i have managed to turn off most Chinise apps, without losing the nice 'Samsung startscreen'.
All together is not such a bad phone after all, but its not what i counted on in the first place.
Now i am curious about if there will be any tweaks possible. Rooting, custom firmware etc...
I am willing to help if possible.
Kind regards,
Coupedevil

Anyway, thanks for sharing your experience. It's disappointing to read how unprofessional some of these shops are It's one thing when they mess up the specs on pre-release products but this shouldn't happen with a phone that has been available for so long. Looks to me like they simply sent the wrong phone to begin with. Their lack of knowledge of even FCE-level English makes it so much worse
I'm looking at chinastore-online to get the Jiayu G2+. The shop at least claims some customer-friendly terms, but so far I've yet to hear from anyone who made a purchase there.
So hang on you've bought an obvious Chinese knock off and your surprised to find its crap? If your interested I can do you a great price on some magic beans (cash or bank transfer only).

I have this galaxy s3 mt6575 clone, same as in the pictures in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1921178
I also had troubles getting the gps to work and started to think it didnt work at all.
But lately I have managed to get some gps signal to work.
I did flash the cwm recovery and have now installed the Lewa rom for it.
google "LeWa For Samsung Galaxy S3 MTK6575" to find the rom if you want to try.
Not sure if it was that rom that made the gps work or not, because I also did install an app named GPS Booster, as well as the u-center gps test app, and the GPS Test app.
Now I get enaugh signal to get my position. But the antenna is weak I think, so I need to be outdoor and have clear weather and clear view to the sky to get it to work. I did not test it in the car yet, but I think it might be to weak to work reliably inside the car.
i just bought the MTK6577 (s3 mimic)
and i want to change his rom (its already rooted)
what rom will work at this device?

I have the software to update another model, which is not mentioned, but with the same processor.
I have also to update the software, it would be possible to modify intalando software programs and extract and place in another of the same model, but modified?
So manufactures improve their imperfections.
Sorry, this is the closest Forum to the K Zoom for it is an official variant of the S5. I just bought the K Zoom 3G (Spec can be found under Samsung country code za: samsung/za). This SM-C111M model runs Android 4.4.2,Baseband C111MUBU1ANE2, Build KOT49HC111MUBU1ANE5. I have a Gear Fit. This model in the spec supports Gear Manager. However, it is not supported on my K Zoom. According to Samsung tech (the best of many answers) is that Gear Fit Manager requires 4.4.3 or above. I can side load the Gear Fit Manager available on xdadevelopers (thanks), but it does not work. One "Samsung Experience Consultant" claims that I need a data plan (currently not using one, but on wifi). But others techs dispute that. I cannot locate a ROM for 4.4.3 or 4.4.4 update if one exists for this phone.
Can anyone help out this NOOB on where to find the 4.4.4 ROM on this new phone (I don't think it is even available in the US yet)? Cyanogenmod? Work around?
Ideas on what is the cause of incompatibility? I am still unsure of the Samsung techs answers.
Thanks in advance. Such a waste on the great deal on K Zoom (US$450) and Gear Fit (US$100) I got!

Odd. You claimed the same thing at three or four other forums too. It's bad form to spam the same post across multiple forums and all within 24 hours too.
4.4.3 and 4.4.4 are just rolling out, so they are probably not available for your device yet. Google will show you that about 30 versions of 4.4.2 are available for this phone on various firmware sites. And that appears to be the most current firmware at this time.
.
[Solved] Finally got the right information and solved this. The key is to update the firmware on the Gear Fit. This can be done with a PC (or Mac) with Samsung's Kies3. Connect with USB using the power connector provided with the Gear Fit. Update Gear Fit firmware, side load Gear Fit Manager from XDA, and you are good to go!
Hello, not exactly new to Android or Linux for that matter, but this has got me stumped.
I bought a Samsung Galaxy S5 from China because the seller conned me into thinking it was a g900v. It turns out its a Sm-G9006v. Android says it is 4.4.2 but other programs (Sysinfo, looking up the IMEI) tell me it is 4.2.2. So which do I believe? How do find out once and for all?
There are other little weird things about this phone and I'll explain if you'd like.

The additional information about anomalies would help. As you discerned, the system information screen looks legitimate, but SysInfo reports a fake i.e. MT6572/4.2.2. Which is correct?
One way to tell conclusively would be to run an extended benchmark suite. There would be a substantial difference in benchmark scores between a fake with a MT class processor and a legitimate G9006V (China Unicom S5). Alternately, you could look closely at the system files to discern if you actually have 4.2.2 or 4.4.2. Or multiple irreconcilable anomalies would.be compelling evidence of a fake.
.
Looking at the status bar icons it is pretty apparent this is not an original S5. Or maybe the seller rooted his device and changed the icons.
Also, it shows up as a Mediatek based device (mt6572). IT IS FAKE.

Since you're certain, can you provide a screenshot of a known legitimate China Unicom S5 for comparison?
If you've never seen a China unicom S5, then it's premature to declare it a fake before we really know. A different icon could easily be something that the carrier or a localized update effected.

It's running a Mediatek chipset. It is 100% fake. No variant of the S5 uses a Mediatek chipset. Kernel version is also incorrect and Android version shows JDQ39 which is Jellybean. No version of the S5 runs on Jellybean.
Here is your requested image: http://i3.sinaimg.cn/IT/cr/2014/0319/1504933938.jpg sourced from: http://tech.sina.com.cn/mobile/n/2014-03-19/07359253359.shtml
I'm thinking this might be the phone you're talking about...
http://upnovo.com/?Wholesale-China-mobile-cell-smart-phone-cheap/Chinese-Copy-Samsung-Galaxy-S5-G9006-Clone-Replica.html
You're assuming that sysinfo is correct. And it is far from 100% reliable. I already stipulated earlier that it will be a fake if sysinfo turns out to be correct. The information page for the G9006V that you found after the fact is inconclusive with mostly oblique screen views.
The bottom line is that we don't know one way or the other for certain yet. You can cherry pick the evidence suggesting it's a fake if you wish. But there is no reasonable basis to say that the matter has been conclusively proven yet. The OP needs to benchmark the processor or another metric that will clearly distinguish between the two.
.
its fake, the android numbers is jelly bean 4.3 , the battery icon is a themed one.
Wrong cpu, wrong board, wrong buildnumber, a clear and obvious copy of a S5. Sorry for you dude. Try to get your money back if you can if you payed with your credit card because of fraud
Yeah, it's 199% fake. Get a refund if possible.
If you want to make it sure, try connecting it to a pc with kies3.
It's a fake, looking at the photo's, the phone is a dual sim phone, in china only the sm9008W and sm9009 are dual sim.
A fake..
Now here's the kicker, it has the heartbeat sensor, it has the fingerprint sensor. Do you think maybe the person I bought it from just flashed it with a wrong ROM?

Despite a lot of dogmatic opinions in the thread, you still don't have enough information to know yet. You probably have a fake, but that isn't certain simply because a third party app says that you have Jelly Bean firmware and a MT processor. It's a fake if that information is correct, but it wouldn't be the first time that an app has reported erroneous information either.
Likewise, missing the heartrate or fingerprint sensors would be strong evidence of a fake. But the best quality clones do have working heartrate & fingerprint apps. The most damming evidence IMO is the kernel version which is suggestive of a clone. But I stand by my earlier advice. Had you run a benchmark suite, you'd already have a conclusive answer.

There are a lot of people selling different types of phone models. I am not gonna buy from a store for now. I've checked wiki/gsmarena and in specific phone, there's a lot of model numbers such as:

Yes. I know there's 2015 and 2016 versions of em. But the model number is what I'm curious about and i would like to know the differences and WHAT IS THE ORIGINAL ONE?
Like A500F or A710/700F is the mostly original/common one? And what is the difference of that from the others such as A700FD etc.
So I would know which one I would take when i buy as 2nd hand..
I would like to buy the regular one which is mostly easier for me to find it easier to root as I see other versions like A500W versions are having problem rooting their phone.
Also, how do i find out if they changed hardware?

You should know that most of that letters on the end of the model are showing you if it is europe version or china or us or india and so on and on
And if you can choose wich one to buy than buy of course as you say the best one of support and easy to root and so on
For the hardware changes you could easy find some
Google play apps
Like the gpuz or cpuz apps or sonething similiar to those apps
Just bought this tablet today for $90, I see Tab4s on here but all the Model numbers are X304, I'm guessing perhaps there isn't any development on this model?
