what about lollipop now?.... again recovery..... keep working..... though....
Thanks!
A build completes almost3-4 hours and a recovery completes 2 or 3 minutes. and you cant make a syccesfull build without build fully functional recovery. you must understand this. recovery is first step.
ok... i can understand... so carry on your work and make us proud.... always there for ur support
This recovery is quite smooth....thanks for your efforts..

Rashr cannot make backup, it says that is not able to create /storage/sdcard0/Rashr/recoveries-backups/....
It cannot neither store downloaded recoveries from internet.
What different tool can I use to flash ?
I see that is available Flashify into playstore, is it safe to use it ?
Thanks in advance,

you dont need to backup your stock recovery. if your device rooted. just flash twrp.
bug?
Flashify works even better!
Btw when doing NANDROID backup my phone display turned off
and I had to hard reboot it. After that 2 thick vertical lines appears
on the screen (visible even during boot and also even after reflashing
via gnqc tool). Lines are gone now (flashed twrp 285) after 1 hour they
gradually vanished.
Can you fix it some how? It seems phone is just locked but
you cant unlock it because display is always off.
Thanx for your and your friends hard work!
Thanks for this recovery. I've detected one bug: If the screen sleeps theres no way to wake again unless pressing power button for 12 secs...
The solution is in Settings->Screen->Disable Sleep Screen.
Also my tests determined that this recovery only works on Kitkat. Doesn't work on Jelly Bean.

we tested it on jb kk and l and worked for all of them. about screen sleep. there is a problem at kernel. we 'll fix it when we can do. for now you can do Settings->Screen->Disable Sleep Screen.
Thanks for this suggestion. For me the 286 version works also on JB 4.2.
OTG
This recovery without otg support
on my phone, after screen locked, it doesnt waked up
System update flashing failure
i tried to flash an system update zip today and was unable to do so with twrp.
It says
Code:
this package is for "GIONEE" devices; this is "e7"
Can u help me in this matter.
Can someone upload E7 32 gb stock recovery for kitkat? I want to upgrade to latest system update released today but can't due to installed twrp version. I don't have backup of stock recovery for kitkat unfortunately.

The 4.4.2 bootloader would stop you from downgrading, in other words, you 'CANNOT' go back to 4.3. You have to use 4.4.2 mate.

Okay, I know normally, 4.4.2 bootloader stops you from downgrading to 4.3. Maybe those people didn't flash the 4.4.2 bootloader. Anyway!
Then maybe you need a factory reset. Do in stock recovery (It will delete all files in internal sd).
Better still, maybe flash custom recovery then Wipe there and not lose files in Internal SD. Cheers!

Are you running a custom rom right now? If you are, follow the steps below;
- if you flashed a custom rom ( x-note, omega, etc...) after flashing stock firmware, you have to flash back to stock KK same way when you upgrade
- flash your original 4.3 firmware, for example in my case I have MJ4 before flashing then I have to flash MJ4 back because MJ1 will fail.
- if after flashing of original 4.3 firmware and it's getting stuck at the samsung flash screen, take battery out and put it back in, boot to recovery ( press vol up + power + home button at the same time till recovery appears then let go ) and do factory reset then reboot and it should boot up all the way to setup
edit: I haven't seen your last post below the picture, in this case just reboot to recovery and factory reset and it'll boot up all the way to setup.

Same problem for me after flashing lamhoang 1.5 (back from Lamhoang Final ART).

It works!
Can u get the phone back into recovery mode? With the phone off, press and, hold the power and volume down button. When the LG logo appears let off the power button and quickly press and hold again. The screen should turn white and will ask if you want to do a factory reset. Choose yes and you should go into recovery mode. Hopefully you can get that far. Then you can reinstall from your backup(if u made one) if not. Be sire you do a wipe. Also if you unzipped the file into multiple folder you can have problems too. If so flash the backup and delete everything except the zip file. Once you are in recovery wipe the data. Be sure to include dalvic cache and cache. Then flash the cloudy Rom,zip file and all should be good. Pm me if you have any questions about it.

But the problem of security error is always there!
Flash a proper kernel for it to run.

You need to flash Kk_baseband for your device

Hey Y'all,
So I've been trying to root my 5.0.1 S4, but could not do it for the life of me. I figured since the CF Auto Root file was made for 4.4.2, I would try flashing back to that with Odin. After getting the correct build for my device, I've been trying to get it to flash, but it got to system, and then stalled forever. I let it run overnight, and it hadn't progressed, so I tried restarting. Now, it fails in a matter of seconds, but I keep seeing progress on the phone's blue bar.
[Q] AM I wasting my time trying to flash an old build? If so, should I just use a custom rom so I get my root? And if so, which one should I use (I'm new to this phone mod stuff.)
Thanks in advance!

Yes, stop before you brick your device. CF Auto Root works for Lollipop. Or Odin TWRP and flash SuperSU zip. Or just flash a rooted ROM. Read the OPs and decide which one sounds like the best fit for you.

Uncheck Auto Reboot and F Reset (everything) when using Odin. And wait a minute after it says PASS before unplugging. Also try different ports and cables.
I can only find .img files for TWRP, I haven't yet been able to find any .tar files. Any tips on where to get a recovery file to use with Odin?
Yeah, definitely cannot restart my phone at the point, it's referring me to Kies to recover. Kies won't connect, either 3.0 or 2.6. So At this point I guess I'm hoping flashing a custom ROM will work...otherwise, is my phone bricked?

TWRP can flash images now.
Flash this build of TWRP first. (It's a .tar for Odin)
https://dl.twrp.me/jfltespr/twrp-2.8.4.0-jfltespr.tar
Copy this build to your device somewhere. (You might as well go ahead and copy a ROM you want to install on your device also.)
https://dl.twrp.me/jfltespr/twrp-2.8.7.0-jfltespr.img
Boot into TWRP and go to install. Select images button at the bottom right and select the build you copied to your device. You will now be running the current version of TWRP.
WOOOOOO!
After a ton of troubleshooting and grief, I finally got 5.0.1 back on, and working. I also discovered that my front usb port was not working correctly. I guess I'll try to root it now!
Aaaaaand, it seems to have worked flawlessly. Thanks for all the help guys!

I have completely wiped my device. nothing is there in internal storage. Just the TWRP folder.
it has unlocked bootloader and twrp installed
but it is the unrooted device.
so please tell me what is best for me?

You will be fine I wipe my internal from time to time. Just make sure you update your bootloader and vendor. If you use the flash all I'm pretty sure it's done for you but if using fastboot method follow the steps in the hiesenberg guide. Just so you know once on the latest Oreo builds from what I've read can no longer downgrade. I haven't verified or read up on it myself but maybe look into if you think you might want to go back to nougat .

i have tried that earlier, but still i got the red triangle.
since i failed to go to stock today i installed latest twrp-3.2.2-0-angler using latest SDK tool.
then i flashed Magisk-v16.0 and then ResurrectionRemix-M-v5.7.4-20161008-angler and it immediately went to google logo and stuck there.
just use this to get back to stock https://developers.google.com/android/images
all you do is boot in to fast boot plug into pc and run flash all
there are ways to save data but you already wiped so no need
if your still confused just look up a guide of how to flash factory images and install the usb drivers

You could have the bad big cores try flashing one of the 4 core fixes. Also I wait to flash magisk until after first boot. It can hang you on the Google screen .
Hello to everyone,
I hope that someone can help me at this point where i'm stuck on bootscreen after i flashed an custom ROM.
So, let me tell you my story.
I have a little of experience with flashing custom ROMs. And on my personal phone (Galasy S5) i succesfully installed over and over again custom ROMs. I really like the ROMs from AOSP Extended. They are covering all of my needs. So today i have an Samsung Galaxy J5 SM-J500FN. It is having some problems with the capacitive buttons(Back and multitasking buttons); those are playing however they want, so you can realise that entering in some app and your phone exiting fro it by itself is very annoyng. So on my S5 i have an option that can disable those buttons for good. And i wanted to install the Android &.1 Nougat offered by AOSP Extended today. So i ve got the TWRP from the official website for the right model of the phone (J500FN) and put it succesfully on it. I downloaded the ROM from official AOSP website, and succesfully installed it on the phone whithout any error. Then i installed the GApps nano, again with 0 errors. And when i was relaxing a little bit hoping that everything it s allright, when i wanted to boot up the phone, it froze up at boot screen (At the moment with that logo with Samsung ... powerd by Android). Then in a couple of seconds it started to turn to an green screen and then to an white screen. At this point, everything is frozen. So i removed the battery and entered in recovery mode(TWRP). There was no problem (only with those capactive buttons that i want to block).. But anyway, i donloaded several ROMs and nothing so far. I tried with anoter TWRP version, samething, stuck on boot screen.
Until my first atempt to flash the custom ROM, the phone worked just fine, only that those buttons ware going crazy. But now, i can't start it up in every mode i can think of.
Can anyone help me with this, please?! Any ideea of how to slve it?
TWRP version 3.1.1-1 j5 nlte
Firmware version: AospExtended-v4.5-j5ltexx-20170816-2007-OFFICIAL
Phone version: SM-J500FN
Tried with various TWRP versions and ROMs. Installing with and without GApps. All the results were the same like in the pictures below:

I don't have any backups from stock firmware so, please don t ask me about that.
Thanks in advance...
Look at the aosp file you downloaded. It says j5LTE.
Your device is j5nlte not j5lte you tried to install the wrong file.
Simple as that.
And if that isnt your problem you may have the wrong bootloader and modem but changing that is easy just follow the guide here https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...5-1-1-bootloader-modem-j500xx-t3566801/page15
