Hi all!
I have a galaxy s4 i9505, and till yesterday everything was working perfectly. Yesterday before i went to sleep i put my phone on the table. Today when i woke up i wanted to call someone and than i saw that there is a small line on my phone's screen. I peeled off the screen protector ( i thought it was from that ), but the line stayed there. It' internal. When i put my finger there, i dont feel any scratch or anything different. By now the "line" got bigger.. The screen works perfectly..

What is the problem with the phone?
Sry if i made mistakes, im not english.
Thanks!
The optical adhesive used to bond the glass to the screen has for some reason lost its adhesion in that area. Get a hold of Samsung and let them know about the fault and ask them for advice.

ok, thanks!
My friend's s4 has a similar line. It happened for leaving it on the dashboard of the car when it was sunny.
The line was big at first, but it gets smaller with each day.
Maybe it will go away by itself after a few weeks

I recently purchased an MDA off ebay from another member on this site. They claimed everything on it was fine, but upon receiving it I found that the bottom of the screen didn't respond. After playing with the calibration I found that the bottom of the screen wasn't completely "dead" it just thinks its being tapped on a different spot of the screen. The seller claims this is a software issue, but after several flashes from different roms the problem still persists. Has anyone else seen this happen? And does this sound like a hardware issue?
I opened notes and took a picture of what happens when trying to use the scrollbar in landscape mode to show how off the calibration is at the bottom. Thanks in advance for any help I can get on this.

I had this EXACT same problem. I had the mistake of pushing down too hard while applying a screen protector and it pushed in the screen on the bottom. From that point, I could never calibrate the bottom of the screen. I was able to get a replacement, because I told Cingular that it was broken and it was only a month into my contract.
So, I think the guy probably messed up applying a screen protector or accidently somehow pushed in the bottom of the screen. This is in no way a software problem....deff hardware issue.
Thanks for the response. I filed a claim with paypal for a refund. With the way that it was packed I'm amazed the phone works at all!
Im sorry to hear someone trying to get over on you. Hope everything works out.
I have bought a SGS II and I like it a lot but I have some screen problems (and it is not related to the yellow/blue tint on the left side). My problem is that compared to the screen of SGS I, my screen is much worse, because there is a kind of "layer" (only noticeable with low bright and you have to pay a bit of attention)like this:

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
that makes that when the brightness is low (on the device) the screen should be like this:
but instead of that I see something like this:
. It's a kind of layer that is showed every time, so I see that noise and I think that something is wrong with my device, or do you have this problem too?
Sorry, but I can't post URLs, so open them.
Like some sort of static image noise or dithering is going on, thats absolutely not normal.. What you can do is maybe go back to the store and have it check/compared with another unit.
Defective screen? Take back to shop!
looks like a (bad) screen protector foil is applied. if that's how your screen looks like without anything applied to it, return the device to the shop...

That's what I will do, I hope my next SGS II doesn't have this problem, anyway, I have to wait at least one month to receive a new one .
Hey guys, just wanted to share this with you. I used to use a M2, until I dropped it accidentally on the toilet (it was clean =P) and I thought "Welp, this one is gone". Just for pure curiosity, I disassembled it a day after it got dropped, cleaned it up and reassembled, but no response. I disassembled again, put it on a plastic bag and forgot it on a shelf. Today I found it and decided to reassemble it. Guess what? It's working! Well, not entirely, the screen (and most likely) the digitizer is dead too, but it boots, makes sounds, vibrates, lights up keyboard keys and touch buttons. I'm buying a new screen for it and will post results if it comes back to life completely.
Wish me luck! =D
good luck!
hope!
do you have a video of you retoring from "trash"?
Good luck on this ressurection!!!
Hope it works fine.
I can record the whole thing when I disassemble and reassemble it when I install the new LCD panel.
Same thing with me, but it wasn't a water drop, it was a coke drop, mine fell on a sink full of coke liquid... I washed with clean water and its working, just need a new screen...
already ordered at TMart...
let´s see what happens...
This is the photo of me and my Milestone 1 falling into the lake...

After that, I only take off the battery, SIM card and SD card and let it dry in the sun...
The screen (perfectly working) get three minor dot shadows and I put another one.
This phones are really a tank! ^^

I am happy for you man!
I found out that you can connect a computer mouse ( Razer Diamond Back 3g ) via USB OTG and you are able to handle it.
never knew that !
I've on phone while it is in my back pocket. I nearly feel it was bending. Lucky me nothing happened.
Just bad luck bro.

I dropped my phone and destroyed the screen a few weeks ago. Fortunately I was insured, they agreed to fix it and I got it back inside 10 days or so. Problem, the damn screen was loose at the top corner - you could fit a fingernail in easy. So, more than a bit annoyed I called them up and they apologised, said they'll pay for the postage and they'd sort it out.
Sent it back and they just returned it with the same damn problem! I can lift half the screen out of the case if I pry my fingernail under the (already loose) top edge - see attached photo. You can push it back in place, everything works fine but it works loose if worn in a pocket like normal.
Clearly their engineers are incompetent and I don't know if I can be bothered to return it AGAIN to find most likely the same problem repeated. Looking at the inside it seems that it's just a bad glue job - I can see sticky stuff that's meant to be holding it in place. :silly:
My question is - could I just reglue the screen in there? Does anyone know what kind of glue to use?
If it's covered by insurance get them to fix the problem at their expense as if you glue it yourself you would render insurance invalid if any other problem happened they wouldn't fix it as it would be voided because you glued it yourself
*Sigh* - yeah like I said - send it back a 3RD TIME? I really think they have trained chimps doing the repair work.
