This one is a tank! - Milestone 2 General

Hey guys, just wanted to share this with you. I used to use a M2, until I dropped it accidentally on the toilet (it was clean =P) and I thought "Welp, this one is gone". Just for pure curiosity, I disassembled it a day after it got dropped, cleaned it up and reassembled, but no response. I disassembled again, put it on a plastic bag and forgot it on a shelf. Today I found it and decided to reassemble it. Guess what? It's working! Well, not entirely, the screen (and most likely) the digitizer is dead too, but it boots, makes sounds, vibrates, lights up keyboard keys and touch buttons. I'm buying a new screen for it and will post results if it comes back to life completely.
Wish me luck! =D

good luck!
hope!
do you have a video of you retoring from "trash"?

Good luck on this ressurection!!!
Hope it works fine.

I can record the whole thing when I disassemble and reassemble it when I install the new LCD panel.

Same thing with me, but it wasn't a water drop, it was a coke drop, mine fell on a sink full of coke liquid... I washed with clean water and its working, just need a new screen...
already ordered at TMart...
let´s see what happens...

This is the photo of me and my Milestone 1 falling into the lake...

After that, I only take off the battery, SIM card and SD card and let it dry in the sun...
The screen (perfectly working) get three minor dot shadows and I put another one.
This phones are really a tank! ^^

nice friends, droped you and your phone.
why you dont ask for a time to remove phone to safe place?
hehehe

that's because the steam is vanished

What do I need to fix this?

My Mytouch4g slipped out of my pocket as I was getting in the car last night and landed on concrete. Although there is no physical damage to the exterior of the phone, the screen now looks like this. If anyone has had this happen to them, is it fixable and if so what part do I need to fix it.

Look up Iphonerepair and mytouch4g in google.
I would give you the link, but being a new member I'm not allowed yet =D
Looked around a little bit and they look like the cheapest place out there; some guys at work have also used them, so I don't think they're going to sit there and try to rip you off (IE try to not send back phone etc etc)
Sorry couldn't be more help.
you need a new LCD bro. Have fun fixing that, just look it up on google, I m sure that there are plenty of videos on it

It's actually not as hard as it seems. First step is to buy the replacement. The second is to follow the videos online.
I just replaced a cracked glass on mine (the LCD was ok though). The tough part for you will be removing the unbroken glass and then putting it back on. Be careful not to heat the glass up too much and break your touch screen connector.
Another quick secret is that you can use a credit card to pop open your phone instead of those safe opener things people sell.
Good luck!
If your LCD is fine then replacing digitizer isn't really that difficult. I followed a guide I found on youtube and did it in about 15 minutes. No need for a special pliers like the other member mentioned, but you do need some precision screw drivers of different sizes.

I am happy for you man!
I found out that you can connect a computer mouse ( Razer Diamond Back 3g ) via USB OTG and you are able to handle it.
never knew that !
I've on phone while it is in my back pocket. I nearly feel it was bending. Lucky me nothing happened.
Just bad luck bro.

Broken case where keyboard slides (and my fix pictures)

Okay, so since I love this phone and hate taking it apart to replace the case (done once already) I decided to hack the case together.
So where the keyboard slides on the back, it apparently puts some pressure on the outside case when you snap it shut (or maybe I snap it shut too hard?). Over time, the case eventually cracks and breaks completely. I used some terrible epoxy used on metals before and the fix only lasted two months. This time I used some epoxy rated for plastics and decided to fix it again. Protip: Do it right the first time as epoxy is a pain to sand off.
Also, I'm sick of the haters going "Mike, why don't you just buy a new phone??". I'm running the latest Android and it runs well. Why would I get a new phone? This one has a keyboard. New phones don't.

Almost forgot to post a picture of the back. Where the keyboard ends on the track is where it broke. Once it broke on one side, the other side followed fairly quickly. The first time I used this gray, JB weld crap that honestly wasn't meant for plastics. This time I used a clear/amber Loctite Plastic Bonder Epoxy that came in a syringe (two stage epoxy). Works like a charm and spreads almost the consistency of elmer's glue, so a very easy spread. Since I had nothing to put it on with, I used a very small, flat-blade screwdriver.
It wasn't the prettiest work, but it got the job done.
Since it looked so ugly before, I added some epoxy to build it up, then sanded it down. I think it came out pretty good:

Loose screen

I dropped my phone and destroyed the screen a few weeks ago. Fortunately I was insured, they agreed to fix it and I got it back inside 10 days or so. Problem, the damn screen was loose at the top corner - you could fit a fingernail in easy. So, more than a bit annoyed I called them up and they apologised, said they'll pay for the postage and they'd sort it out.
Sent it back and they just returned it with the same damn problem! I can lift half the screen out of the case if I pry my fingernail under the (already loose) top edge - see attached photo. You can push it back in place, everything works fine but it works loose if worn in a pocket like normal.
Clearly their engineers are incompetent and I don't know if I can be bothered to return it AGAIN to find most likely the same problem repeated. Looking at the inside it seems that it's just a bad glue job - I can see sticky stuff that's meant to be holding it in place. :silly:
My question is - could I just reglue the screen in there? Does anyone know what kind of glue to use?
If it's covered by insurance get them to fix the problem at their expense as if you glue it yourself you would render insurance invalid if any other problem happened they wouldn't fix it as it would be voided because you glued it yourself
*Sigh* - yeah like I said - send it back a 3RD TIME? I really think they have trained chimps doing the repair work.

Samsung galaxy s4 problem

Hi all!
I have a galaxy s4 i9505, and till yesterday everything was working perfectly. Yesterday before i went to sleep i put my phone on the table. Today when i woke up i wanted to call someone and than i saw that there is a small line on my phone's screen. I peeled off the screen protector ( i thought it was from that ), but the line stayed there. It' internal. When i put my finger there, i dont feel any scratch or anything different. By now the "line" got bigger.. The screen works perfectly..

What is the problem with the phone?
Sry if i made mistakes, im not english.
Thanks!
The optical adhesive used to bond the glass to the screen has for some reason lost its adhesion in that area. Get a hold of Samsung and let them know about the fault and ask them for advice.

ok, thanks!
My friend's s4 has a similar line. It happened for leaving it on the dashboard of the car when it was sunny.
The line was big at first, but it gets smaller with each day.
Maybe it will go away by itself after a few weeks
