To whom it mat concern. I like some many others would like to see this thread opened back up. Or at least explain to myself and the many others why it was closed to begin with. I think as a frequent visitor like many others would appreciate a reason or an explanation as to why it was closed. Here is a Dev like many others that have work very hard to supply everyone with his hard work. Without the Dev's what would XDA be.
Hopefully, it's an April fools joke.

This has to be a joke its ridiculous how whiney this place has become no wonder why all the great devs have left... But seriously we all deserve an explanation why the thread was closed
This is what I propose..http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/help/dear-xda-ya-consider-t3070263
That is a great idea for a thread. I hope it can be implemented. I also hope the new build will be pushed out too.
Very upsetting! There will be conflict in anything anywhere and we were finally starting to make progress. Users make it hard for other users to ask questions as they are scared of the backlash and eventually it turns to hostility and XDA refuses to handle it. It is not always easy to find the info you need in 1000 pages of replies. It is unfortunate but there will not always be butterflies and rainbows! After the brightness fix the tread was starting to lighten up more and we were all excited and waiting and most were putting good input. This is unfortunate to say the least and a slap in the face to everybody on Ax's team that work so hard for the community.

That is so very true. I can be very intimidating to ask a question sometimes. I think its very important for some of the more tech savvy members here to realize that there are some who may be very interested in learning but are afraid to ask.

I can understand being frustrated about answering the same question over and over, but if those who just show up in the former without even trying to help as just as much at fault.

Seems pretty clear to me. There is only so much developers can support while still enjoying their lives.
If you have questions needing support, please post in Q&A. There is no need for these types of threads on XDA, especially when the closing statement is clear.
Thanks

OK u guys...I know everyone is tired of all the drama on here. I have been talking to one of the mods through pm and gave a suggestion for a town hall meeting to discuss the problems as of late. The mod agreed that he and hopefully other mods would be willing to open a thread where we can discuss these issues. There will be no banning for what is said in this meeting but with a mod present and engaging in convo the tone needs to stay clean or semi at least. Failure would result in post being deleted. There will be rules that the mods what followed but its to keep the pease.
Look this cdma community has been split for a little while now. U can feel the tention in some post. Its time to stop the flaming and the trolling. This is not just about the nebs/fixxxer thing even though that's what sent all of this overboard.
The mods only see part of this community and its the ugly side. They are harsh cause they are misinformed about certain people and certain actions. This is our opportunity to have a united voice and share how things really are and ideas on how to remedy them
Its time to reunite as the amazing community this used to be and get back to what really matters.
Feel free to comment. Please keep it clean. The more votes in the poll the better.
The meeting would be at a set time and heavily monitored then closed once alotted time had past. Please join and enjoy.
This is not the meeting. It is just a poll to let mods know we are serious and that we can behaive.
excellent idea
I say let by gones be by gones and drop the whole matter. I find it odd that two members and a bunch of trolls can stir up soo much controversy on this forum. I don't have much more to say other than lets just get back to developing and stop worrying about others and what they do or say.

And your response is the exact reason we shouldn't even discuss it anymore. Just as you think im an impostor, i could say the same for you as you just joined up as well. Any one of us could be neb, fix or bad_dog along with a host of others that caused issues on here. If the mods don't care, than neither should we. That's my point of view, im sorry you don't agree but your right i will not be participating in another thread that will do nothing but finger point and get more members banned.

It's more along the lines of more people got the device & with a larger community, brings trolls more likely to pop up and/or friction due to difference of opinions between people. There isn't really anything that can be done, except to report issues ASAP & let the mods do their thing.
The Mods need to start locking threads and banning people on a more regular basis.
To me, this sounds like a great idea! I think we should all openly discuss our problems..
great idea and this is very needed.

As a first time Android device owner who likes to tinker, I search/read MANY forums. This sub-forum is THE pinnacle of learning for me. This place has the top tier crazy-smart code monkeys who are generous enough to take their time and share their knowledge all while asking for very little or nothing.
Suggestion for all my co-noobs: Support these people! Make the little suggested donations. Without them we would have slower, and much less (fun)ctional phones. And we would also probably still be frustrated contributors to the empires of Bill & Steve.
I wish i could report these posts without actually having to open and read them...
I'm with you.
Why this thread is most likely in the wrong place. I'm with you. The community around here is great. Most of the threads are really well detailed and most people here are very generous and willing to help others. For a first time Android owner like myself who came in with no knowledge whatsoever, this forum help me get my phone just the way I want it within just a couple of days. I really want to say thanks as well.
Report it? That is a little HARSH ....
Maybe suggest to the OP that he request it be moved to general .....
to the OP, I do agree with you, the devs here are great, most do it for fun and respect but the occasional donation could not hurt ......
Moving it to general now. But thumbs up on the post! Developers do take a lot of their free time to provide us with nice modifications.
reporting is harsh... unfortunately we only have one mod, who happened to be on the ball tonight.. (+1 sombionix)..
Ill do whatever I can do to help keep this section clean.. this is how I was told I could contribute....

All that because you felt my thanks was posted in the wrong place???? The devs were who I wanted to thank, so that's where I addressed it, period. There was really no need for you to send the ship into Warp 7 Drama Queen Mode.
I've read about a hundred+ of your posts. I know you're a big contributor & like I said, I'm grateful for the education where I am lacking it. So let me return the favor and educate you in an area where you are lacking:
Act like a man and have some class.
Don't be some arrogant little punk. Treat people the same way you would if you were face to face, as opposed to safely ensconsed in the wired, anonymous rapture of your mommie's basement.

yes of cause they deserve big thanks from us. We always grateful to the developers, moderators and whoever helps to achieve the target.
This thread is really something I've been waiting for. Since I bought my hd2 this site has been my daily journal. I've learned so much about something I've never heard about, that is: this community. Although in every single thread there may be some illiterate, there was never a lack of information. This is a joy for me, even not having anyone around to share the experience with, being afraid of robbery or envy. I had the opportunity to experience more platforms than my notebook is able to deliver me, and it was more expensive than my phone. Now we have the beginning of NAND and so much joy ... how can I evaluate my phone if it is just as I want it to be? I just have to login, pick a shelve, download, follow all the instructions without wanting to make it easier on me, that is, being a smarta** and check for the recurrent issues. Most of the time I stay with the "thanks" button, sometimes the problem seems to be different than all, so I report it, that's all... No fuss. Following this simple instructions I have found the best suiting ROM for my needs and I ready don't care what other people think about, its my phone still. So this is a big THANK YOU, other than HELP ME (that we are all used to), for the incredible existence that all developers, moderators, guinea pigs, etc, have put into it. You should be proud!
THANK YOU, so many times as this can still go on.
PS - When I have enough money, I'll get everyone here to have a beer in my bar!

only handful of thanks to moderatorscome on ladsssssssssssssss they also deserve the thanks for the hard work they doing
To be honest, I haven't noticed any moderator's work except for moving wrongly placed posts.
The fact that they tend to be invisible and not the heavy-handed type is the thanks that I offer them.
I am distinguishing between a moderator doing a moderator's job and the same moderator posting help and advice.
Yeah you guys really thanks!!
People say that facebook is like a refridgerator, you keep on checking it even though you know that there's nothing new. I must check XDA around 40 times a day - is that absurd or what?! i love this website!
I want to just take a second and say thanks for ALL the support I have received from most of you since I started out here. I realize that Autism and Android were an unlikely pair but I thought it worked well.
Lately there has been an increasing level intolerance for what I was trying to do here. I know it's a vocal minority but they have become louder and louder. I have become quite disheartened as of late with the direction this forum has taken and I'm going to step back for a while. My ultimate goal is to further the spread of Autism Awareness and hopefully get Android4Autism launched by the end of the summer or early fall and so I'm going to redirect my efforts there.
I honestly had the best of intentions with everything I was doing here but it has apparently run it's course. Aside from asking you to "think about donating your old devices for the Android4Autism project (and I specifically said not until after everything was set up and legit so that everyone was protected) and votes, I never asked for anything. Despite the claims that have been made to the contrary about my intentions.
I want to thank everyone for voting for my blog but as you may notice the thread has been moved after being here for over 2 1/2 months. I realize that it was not "on topic" but it was a positive thread. I thought it was amazing how everyone unified and worked together for a common goal. I suspect that the vocal minority contributed to this and that saddens me. I'm not angry this happened, it's just that fact that some people would take it upon themselves to get this removed from our forums after all this time, instead of just not reading it.
I'm not looking for anything out of this. After all you have given to me, I felt I owed you an explanation for my decision. That's the very least I can do. I'll never be able to repay all the kindness and support you have shone to both me and my family. You have all made a difference in our lives. You have helped to spread awareness and for that I will forever be grateful.
Please don't turn this into a flame war either. I'll close the thread myself. I just want everyone to understand how grateful I am for everything and that my stepping back is my choice. My methods are becoming the target for some people and I won't change the way I'm doing things because I believe in what I'm doing. So the best thing is to just walk away. At least for now.
You all know where to find me and I'm happy to help. Please feel free to contact me through my blog or Google+ if you need anything and I will do whatever I can to help you.
Thanks again for everything. I'm very proud of what we were able to accomplish. Please help to keep this community moving forward.
Rob

Just as hard as it is to follow the forum rules. Say for instance that I considered the elimination of homosexualaity a "positive cause". Should I be allowed to push that agenda here at the cost of the owners of the site simply because I think this is a positive agenda? (According to some users, yes...)

Regardless of what Rob has given to us (the community) why does he not have to follow the rules of the forum? Why is it appropriate for him to come and complain that his thread was moved to the correct forum and he is quitting because he disagrees with the opinion of those that pay for and/or manager this resource to be available to us?

There is a couple of threads started by the main Devs, that have been closed lately.
All b´coz ignorant and stupid ppl keep asking the same quiestions over again.Since they are superiour at devoloping roms, but have a hard time getting same questions all the time shuffeld upon them, time over time, the treads gets closed all the time to us uber users sad disapointment. If i had the power i would shoot all the wrong posters in the head, but i dont have the the power to do that. This is not a democracy, soo think before u post any stupid question that might offend the allmighty devs,or the treads might get closed.Remember,You are in the hands of the Devs, they have ALL the might to shut u down,We are ALL in the hands of the allmighty DEVS.
So ask ur self, can u live without the roms, can your life continue with an originar rom from lets say Samsung?Or are u here bcoz of ur curiosity? Are u here bcoz of the fun of trying lotz of diffrent roms?OR as me,just to try out something else?
I for sure can live with out the roms that codeworkz and he´s friends develop.Would my life be porer with out their roms?Nah dont think so,if there only were TW roms i would still be fine, but the option to choose is always better.Do i feel the need to kiss some devs ass to get googles latest, with all the bugs and annoying faults?Sure not.Im 40 years old,ive learned to hold my breath, theres no greener grass on the other side.My phone will still function as intended even without major Devs roms.
So,do i dont appriciate the work they do for free?Hell yes i do!For free?Well, some of us guys do donate,so for free isnt true.
Do i think Devs should be treated like gods?Nope,i think they should live by the same rules as all of us do,threat others with respect.!

bs or noobish questions on their thread they just close it, instead of warning the person(s)
that are cluthering their thread and just in case off repeating theme selves just expell them
from xda for a period or FOR EVER!!!!!!!!!!!! this is what happens on most forums so why not here.
Imho this is still a forum about open source so why should you be invited only to get a
membership should we all be mail aswell to join?
Maybe cleaning up some (less used) sticky threads and getting more info, about using Q&A and the use off searching threads before asking, to new users would be something to consider ( maybe this can be done by first 20 posts opening a warning screen, that pops up at your screen, when you whant to post something that has to be checked within a scrollable popup screen) yes i know this needs some work by the mods but then youre probally done with noob questions and bs.

+1 really fund with development on xda, but when Devs get to much
bs or noobish questions on their thread they just close it, instead of warning the person(s) that are cluthering their thread and just in case off repeating theme selves just expell them from xda for a period or FOR EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!
this is what happens on most forums so why not here.

No mate. Simple solution. Invite only to become a member. And as regarding the cm9 thread well the title said it all UNSTABLE not ready for daily use. What more than that do people need for a better explanation

You can tell people to hold their breath, cause you let one go, guess what......?
they will always tell you, you stink up the place
people are just to curious to be number 1 with their phone and firmware to read any warning what so ever about a rom thats still under heavy development
and not fully functional, we just like to wine about the problems that occur
so invite or not i think the problem stays the same
Please NO not another thread like this! Pointless...

You have a point. I mean we do not live in a perfect world after all. But my point is if xda was reverted to invite only and made the only way to be able to get the invite is by actually learning to contribute to the community then i think maybe that is the only way forward.

Enough already with this high-school melodramatic bull****. Let the developers develop however the hell they want to develop, and shut the **** up about it.

Calm down buddy no need to get yourself angry about this.
This is the second thread started by the same user in as many days expressing the same incoherent, poorly articulated babble.
Yesterday's rant about XDA being a dictatorship didn't last long before being locked and I can only hope that this worthless drivel is shut down every bit as quickly.
This outraged sense of entitlement crap is part of the problem and most certainly not the solution. It's not Devs that are making it hard work on XDA, it's people like you.
lol i opened a thread as well the other day.. makes that 3....but invite only would be good...
i admit i know only a little bit about Android and mobile phones, however as i work in a technical environment i understand the risks and what goes into developing.
again as i mentioned in my other thread.. XDA IS suffering as a result and it's name is being dragged through the mud across the net on other blogs and Developer forums. It's embarrassing and frankly I dont blame the Devs for leaving...
I feel like this is all targeted to CM9/ICS development, so let me answer this.
Hey people, calm down. We don't feel like gods at all, I can understand why you're mad, but hey, it's community's fault !
We spend hours and hours trying to bring AOSP experience to this device (and some others), and it's hard given the number of things Samsung doesn't do using Android standards. It's taking a lot of our free time, and gives us a lot of headaches.
That's one fact.
Now, you guys begged us to get an alpha, we gave it to you. What did we get in return ? The right to answers 1000000000 times the SAME questions. We made a Wiki, an FAQ, people STILL asks for dumb questions. They can't use google, they can't search a topic, they can't read, and they beg us to get an answer to their dumb questions. It's okay the first, second, third time... But when it's ALWAYS ALL TIME TIME the SAME, it gets boring, we get mad and arrogant, because we're doing all this stuff for YOU, and you can't even use the Thanks button properly. No, you come here and complain "Why **** doesn't work !!??", and you keep asking at EACH RELEASE if the SAME thing works or not, because you can't read the ChangeLog, or Google for specific terms that are inside it (like the Vendor libraries thing).
When you'll respect us, by doing a bit of work on your side, we'll get nicer. Codeworkx said it's your fault, and he's right.
