HELP! Galaxy S4 I9505 no SIM detected - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I have a couple of S4 i9505 handset and they both have the no SIM detected error. They are running the stock 4.4.2 firmware and baseband and IMEI are correct. I have replaced the SIM card reader and still have the same problem. The next step is the reflow the mainboard. Could someone tell me which IC should I reflow? I have an SMD workstattion.
Thanks.

Hi mate
Most IMEI problems are EFS folder related not hardware ..anyhow that information would be in the memory chips

Hi mate,
I know it's a hardware issue and that is why I asked which IC to reflow to fix this fault. One handset only has this fault after a drop. The microSD slot still works OK.

When i said memory chip i meant the on board memory chip 16GB, 32GB...not the Micro SD

You must be talking about the large IC on the bottom side of the board then.

[Q] FW for Omnia7 16G

I'm trying to help a friend with his semi-bricked Omnia7 16G.
Are the official firmwares posted good for both models?
Common sense tells me they should be but I need to double check before starting working on this...
yes, storage memory doesn't matter

I've seen a few bricked devices from wrong nand driver also.
I have 16gb version and reflashed it a couple of times with no problems don't worry

Ext SD card wont mount

Anyone else having problems with their cards not been recognised?
Card is good in other devices
Try formatting it in computer but it might not work for long. Already "burned" 2 cards. Not using them anymore…

What's your device?
Formatted in the pc and also in another note 2 and its recognised fine in those
Its a N9005
Does your Note3 recognize other cards ?
Maybe the problem is with Note. Hardware problem.

Yeah sounds like a hardware problem with the Note 3
My N9005 also do not recognize SD card. Problem in my case is ... one of the connectors broken. So live with it or replace of mainboard needed. I decided that 32gb be enough for me.
Check out all connectors in SD holder

If your n9005 running 4.4.2 it's firmware issue , search xda for that but you must rooted your phone , or wait
till samsung come out with firmware update which is coming and it's fix the extsdcard issue.

S4 does not recognize my sim card

Hello guys,
I have a rooted S4 with Knox Flag and a custom rom which really worked well. But now i do not understand why i am getting a pop up which says that the phone can not recognize my sim card and wants to restart. First it just came some times. Now it totally does not find my sim card. I also bought a new card reader and built it in but i have the same problem.
I also tried to bring everything to Stock but this either doesn't worked.
I hope someone can help.
Thanks,
Musti
Reflash STOCK ROM and tell me if works ok. Looks like a hardware problem anyway.

Things you can do.
-Flash stock again.
OR
Update your modem.
maybe its hardware related. go to phone repair shops if they can help you.
Hey,
so I flashed the stock rom via Odin but it is still the same problem.
What do you mean with updating the modem? Maybe I should read and try that out thanks!

Hi mate ,
The problem may be in the EFS partition , do you have an EFS back up? if not you may have to take it to a local service shop , you need a Z3X box or similar to fix it.

imei in new motherboard

I had put new motherboard to the galaxy note3 sm-n9005 and I must also put the old imei. How can I do this? Is there any specific program? Or If there is someone who can help me with this situation..
Thanks a lot !!!
You want to put your old imei into the new motherboard?
There is no legal way to reprogram the IMEI from your old device on the new motherboard. Your new board should have a new IMEI - this should be used instead.

Sorry, that would be a topic of illegal nature and therefore not allowed here.

Maybe put the motherboard with sm-n910f on sm-m910v?
That is not a good idea. While both devices may use the same Snapdragon 805 SOC, they use entirely different modems. As the N910F is a international GSM device, while the N910V is design for use with the US Verizon cell carrier.
modem also located on the motherboard

Yes, the modem is located on the motherboard.
then shall come?

I don't know what you mean by that. But if you want to fix your N910F, you need to get a N910F motherboard.
I sm-n910v want to put the motherboard from the sm-n910f, will it work?

I think if you're replacing the motherboard it should work without any issues

It will work but you will have to use a Verizon SIM card. As the N910V is design to work on Verizon's network.
