UK Galaxy note 3 - Sim Network Locked - Help - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
i bought a used Galaxy note 3 on ebay UK as the seller said that it was unlocked to any network
i am originally from UK but now live in Czech republic
so when the phone arrived i put my cz sim card into it and the phone has a grey screen asking me for a sim network code
i took the phone to a local service which can unlock phones - but the people said that they could not unlock the phone
as it has UK software on it and their methods they were unable to get the code ..
i tried to flash a CZ official rom onto the phone but it did not seem to work well on the phone..
unable to do any software updates - as it did not allow
can anybody recommend a place in London to take this phone to get it unlocked
or i have seem some web based services which offer to send a network code when you make payment
but i was unsure about this web based service method
right now the phone is useless to me until i can get it unlocked
no help either from the seller..
so i hope someone on here can point me in the right direction
thanks a lot

I m interessed too

[Q] Urgent Cannot return to CDMA mode after international SIM usage

Hello everyone,
In the last 4 months I have been using a foreign SIM card. Last night I came home, and I cannot return to CDMA mode and resume use of my normal Sprint service. I cannot change the network type in the settings (screenshots attached)
I was told that I might need to do a complete factory reset, but honestly I would hate to do that and find out that my foreign SIM card will no longer work for some reason.
My question: Is there any way to reset the mobile network settings to Sprint factory defaults? I have a feeling that the foreign SIM modified settings unbeknownst to me.
Attachments:
In the first picture, you can see that the menu has the option to change to CDMA EVDO LTE, but once that's selected, it doesn't enact any changes. I am not able to revert to CDMA mode.
Hope you guys can help! Thanks in advance.
Another symptom:
All ##****# hidden menus no longer work.
Try *#0011# instead. It will present you with a debug screen. Press the left soft key (menu button that glows) and select "key input", type the number 1 and press OK, the press the left soft key again and select "back". Repeat this until the screen changes to a different menu. Once at the new menu press the left soft key and back one more time. You should see a selection for cdma, press that then select common. Press next page twice and on the third page there should be an option for "pref mode set", select that, then select cdma/lte (or something similar I can't remember off the top of my head), reboot the phone and you should be back to norm.
However if your phone somehow took an update when you got home from traveling and Is on mja now, you might have to to a clean wipe and odin a full modem/kernal/rom.
Let me know if this works!

Ah, regretfully, I never got in to bitcoins!
Anyways, I had another question. How do I revert to stock completely? I would like to get to the point where I can use the original dialer codes (still won't work). I do have data now, but 3434 or 3282 don't work. Also, cannot update profiles OTA/download updates. (See screenshot)
Also, what is the magic OTA that locks your phone? MJA? I'm still on MDL, but I wouldn't mind upgrading if it would benefit me at all.
Oh, I'm not out of the woods yet.
Cannot receive calls/texts, but I can make them. Also, cannot attempt to re-activate the phone, saying there's no network.

[Q] Text Blocking

So I've been googling and searching and having trouble nailing down the answer.
Friend of mine has the Galaxy S5 through Verizon
Keeps receiving texts from somebody that she doesn't want to receive texts from.
I've been trying to locate how to block the incoming text. On my S4 I see where I can choose to add the contact to "spam number." I don't see this option on the S5. I looked at the blocking list, but this only blocks a phone call I'm assuming since I added the number and she is still receiving the texts. Anywho, I was going to look in the app store but was wondering if I can do it natively. Thanks for any help.
Go to a text message from the person, tap menu (three dots on top right) , scroll down the menu and 'add to spam numbers'

If it's not there, it's Verizon messing with the phone to make room for their bloatware. How the hell they get away with that I don't know.

Yea, I should have said that doesn't work. Nowhere is there an option to add to spam numbers. That's why I'm having so much trouble. You can't long press on the message. You can't menu into it. You can't go into applications/messaging/spam. Nothing. I'm baffled.

Open the text message sent to you, while on that screen, you will see three vertically aligned dots on the upper right corner of the screen. Touch it to open the menu. Scroll down and you will see "add to spam numbers".
Nope. It's not there. First thing I tried. I can't find an option, in the phone, regarding "spam numbers" at all. Zero.

Weird. All stock firmwares should have the same interface and accessible menus. Maybe she's not using S5?
When you press the 3 dots and the menu pops up you can scroll the menu up for more options..

Verizon tends to remove a lot of features on their phones. Download booster is removed as well.
On my AT&T model using AT&T messages, you click the message, then menu (3 vert. dots). Then add click "add to contact"..."create new". then name it and save it. Within that same new contact, click the menu button at top right. There is an option to "add to reject list".
it may be similar on Verizon if it's not in the top level menu.

Maybe they do that, I'm not familiar with what they do though . I can only think of a reason they did that, maybe they are offering the spam/blocking as a network service for a fee.

Knowing Verizon, they probably do.
I had done this. But it only blocks the phone call. Not the text.
I'm assuming the same as one of the other guys here. I bet if I called Verizon they offer it as a fee. Which is a load of BS.
And yes, it is an S5.

Alternatively your friend could go to the police and file a formal complaint regarding harassment if you cannot find a block button.

Call/Message block setting enabled?
Hey guys, you can try this if you want:
You basically just need to add this to your CSC settings and it will enable a dedicated call/message blocking options in your settings.
This was posted for the Note 1 at the time but I tried it on my Note 3 and it works perfectly fine. I'm thinking it will work perfectly fine for your S5's.

Sim not allow mm#3 solution

Here is a brief history of what I tried to get my AT&T NOTE 3 to get unlock without unlock code which ended up screwing up my phone.
I rooted. Attempted Region Unlock by ChainFire so my Tmobile sim would work; didn't work. Found some leads for hidden dial pad menus. The one with the most accesibility and confusion was the "Access the dial pad and type the following: *#197328640#." this one is tricky. You need to first hit menu then select "back". There will be no changes in the screen. then you hit menu, key entry "Q". again you will see no changes. Last you hit menu, key entry "0000". WAIT MANY SECONDS. You will be taken to another menu.
I made many changes. Thing is, I've been around the many communities and know my way around the wierd codes in the hidden menu. Do not mess with anything in there! It is what got me to screw up my SIM reader. I resorted to an option in the hidden menu where you go from "UE SETTINGS AND PROTOCOL" to "SETTINGS".... there were a few other options which led me to NV REBUILD. The NV from my experience in the RAZR M SIM unlock allows the SIM unlock. If it were to be rebuild it would reset the changes I've made. It rebuilt and I rebooted my phone and I immediately received 4G and was able to make phone calls and texts.

G4 google account bypass fully works

heres how to bypass the google account activation on the lg g4
1...You need a usb otg device
2...download quick shortcut maker http://apk-dl.com/quickshortcutmaker
3...transfer quick shortcut to usb otg and plug into phone
4...open accessibility on the first screen when you boot the phone
5...under accessiblity go down to services where switch access turn it from off to on
6 click settings then scroll to the bottom to key combo for overview and set it to the volume down button by hitting volume down
then click the back key til you get back to the screen with emergency dial
7 click on emergency dial and dial 112 then press the volume down button to open up the overview menu and click on dual window then select the file manager (at this point click the little phone icon and go back to the phone and end the phone call
8 hit volume down again and go back to the file manager and find the quick short cut maker apk and install it
9 do not hit done hit open instead once its open search home selector the click select home then click try then select home it will bring you to the home screen of the phone
10 go into the phone setting then click general then apps then clear all google app data (make sure you clear every google app!!)
very important then go into playstore and add your own gmail account will say connection error (reboot phone)
11 then you can go to through the setup fully it will say your account has been added and you can now setup your phone
12 for good mesaures do a factory reset from the setting let the phone reboot and set up fresh voila a fully functioning phone with your google account
Is it really working? Bcoz a friend of mine got d same issue.
Yes it really works

To unlock a stolen handset.
A genuine seller would be able and willing to unlock a phone they have sold with this feature enabled.

let's say you want to sell your phone one day. You have already registered your google account.
How would you un-register it on the device so as to sell it ?
Things have changed with MM as i understand.

You disable your screen lock before factory resetting the phone.
The factory reset protection only kicks in if the phone was factory reset with a screen lock still enabled (to stop someone stealing a phone, using recovery to wipe data, then selling it on).

SOLVED how can i tell if my g900p is domestic unlocked?

i did the idoneapps thing, and it said it was successful but my imei is still under financial obligation until april. I know that theres a *#0011# menu that gets you to a place via sub menu selections that tells you, but i have scoured the threads and cant find it. any help would be nice

it wont work because my IMEI has a financial obligation tied to it still
its actually this
*#0011#
hit the upper right menu button, select key input, and type a capital Q, then ok. then menu again, key input type in 4 zeros "0000" and hit ok. Menu again and hit the back selection, menu again and hit the back selection. It can take up to 30 seconds for it to give you the next menu and you may need to repeat that process, but once the menu is up, make the following selections.
[1] Protocol State
[5] Sim Information
[3] Check NV
the bottom 2 lines should read as follows
SPR BIP Unblocked
sim lock is disable
