HELP! TWRP is gone and stuck in boot loop. LG G2 D800 - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, earlier while trying to switch superuser apps i guess i accidentally unrooted my phone. I was running Resurrection Remix 5.0.2 Rom and had TWRP recovery. The first thing i tried to do was re-root the phone using TowelRoot but i couldn't cause for some reason whenever i entered the app it was completely zoomed in and couldn't move around to click the "make it rain" button so i was like ok since i don't have a backup of this rom ill just restore to the original firmware backup i made before i switched roms, root and then install a clean version of this rom again. I reboot into TWRP and restored the backup only now it just shows the LG logo the plays the AT&T boot animation, screen turns black and it plays the animation again. Over and over.
I tried to get into recovery using the power and volume buttons but it just takes me to the Factory Hard Reset screen. I really don't wanna lose all my files i had on the phone.

Ok so after hours of searching i finally fixed it and thought i'd post here exactly what i did in case somebody is in similar situation. I didn't realize that you could just press the power key on the Factory Hard Reset screen, since it really doesn't reset your phone if you have a custom recovery installed so it just took me to TWRP. Once there i wiped everything except internal then i decided to flash the KK Baseband and Cloudy G2 since i had those saved in internal. I pressed reboot system and it loaded up the LG animation boot screen and then hit another bootloop. So i turned off the phone and went back into TWRP (again i had to hit power twice in the Factory Hard Reset screen for it to actually go into TWRP). This time i found a post to enter some commands in terminal on TWRP: **I was unable to post external links since i am a new user so ill try to post the commands below** then i rebooted and it told me that it appeared i no longer had root and asked me if i wanted to install superuser and i slid the thing for yes, it rebooted and got stuck in a bootloop again. I then went back into TWRP, wiped everything again except for internal. Then i flashed LGD800 10O Radio (I think that's the JB baseband for lollipop to be able to run without a problem) and then flashed CM Resurrection 5.0.2 Rom and gapps. Rebooted and it started up without losing anything saved internal!
On Terminal Command Type this:
Code:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota
then hit enter
type
Code:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/misc
then hit enter and reboot.

[D800] Stuck on LG boot logo

I had CM11 M6 installed. I wanted to flash this kernel called Furnace. I used the AOSP version, not sure if I should've used stock. Before I flashed it, I tried to wipe the cache. It was taking about 5 minutes so I force rebooted it. After I did that, my phone would be on the LG boot screen for about 3 minutes (before it was about 5 seconds) then I would see the CM boot screen. Overnight I tried wiping the cache again. When I woke up, I was on the lock screen. I flashed Furnace and then I was stuck on the LG boot screen. I went back into recovery and tried resetting to factory or whatever it's called and it took awhile to format /cache but it eventually did. Still, I was stuck on the LG boot screen. For some reason I thought installing a new recovery would help (I had CWM before). I pushed a TWRP recovery file for my device to my phone. I then put this command in the adb shell: dd if=/sdcard/recoveryfilename.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery (recoveryfilename.img was replaced with what it was named). I rebooted into recovery from the old recovery, and on the top left it said secure booting error. I tried restarting and booting into recovery, no luck. Now I'm not really sure how to flash a new recovery because I can't get into recovery. I'm pretty sure to fix my booting problems I need to reflash CM, which will flash CM's kernel...?
Also, when I try to use fastboot commands on my computer, I get ERROR: could not get pipe properties
Can I use adb while it's in this boot state? Please help!
By the way, I'm using a mac
Edit: Looked around on the Furnace Kernel thread, I guess I used a too new version of the kernel for CM11...
Edit: Found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142, gonna try it out soon...

[Q] Led flashing and stuck on boot

Well, while trying to flash a custom rom on my phone I ended up here and tried many different methods.
First after I installed TWRP on the phone I tried to install the rom and it told me it failed. So then I wiped my phone and tried again, still failed. Then I got stuck in a bootloop. I did a factory reset and was able to get into TWRP. So I wiped everything and it asked me if I wanted to root my phone. I said yes and now the boot screen stays forever and the notification led never turns off. So I did factory reset and tried to run a command on terminal "dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota" it still did not boot up.
I have tried flashes the stock and I can't get oceanhost.eu and storagecow.eu to load up.
Please I would appreciate any help, is my phone dead? I can always boot to TWRP as long as I factory reset.

Security error after recovery update

I have a d802 . I had cloudy1.3 and twrp 2.7 installed with autorec. I tried to update it using
dd if=/sdcard/recoveryfilename.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery
(from twrp page, with the latest img file).
But I coudn't access recovery, some error about security. Then I shutdown my phone and then it booted fine into system. I retried to access recovery but nothing.
So I decided to return to autorec, I installed it, I clicked "Flash Recovery" and now my phone doesn't boot in any way.
It show "lg security error" and then shutdown.
I can access download mode. Is there a way to fix my phone without deleting everything?
I'm sure the problem is the recovery, I was messing with it, can I bring my phone back and don't delete my configuration, photos, apps?
Thanks
I'm so happy!
I did it!!!
I managed to boot into recovery with the usual combination of keys (with the method that ask you if you want to format, but then you press power and it boot into recovery).
From there I saved everything using adb pull (Just in case). Then I dirty flashed Cloudy 1.3 and my phone is back !
I hope my experience can help someone

System Partition not booting, after reboot its booting into recovery!

Hey, sorry for the ignorance!
I flashed this ZUI (Nougat) rom on top of CM 13 data, phone did boot with old apps. When i pressed factory reset from settings menu the phone went to recovery and since then its only booting into recovery and not into system! everytime i get into TWRP system is not checked. even after mounting system and flashing stock zip. The phone isn't booting into system but recovery only. Tried flashing system.img by Fastboot.
Solved by using QFIl
Flash stock recovery, then boot into recovery.
It will automatically do factory reset, after that your system partition will boot.
Then flash TWRP again.
And do remember, not use Factory reset option from OS while on custom recovery.
Had the same issue, went to fastboot and then flashed through adb. Worked as a charm.

How to switch off the phone stuck in zUK logo with no recovery installed. I tried long pressing the home button but it reboots to zuk logo ,is there any way to switch off the phone
This will fix it without losing any data. (NO FACTORY RESET NEEDED)
Go to TWRP recovery terminal commands, and enter the following:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota
PRESS ENTER
THEN TYPE
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/misc
THEN PRESS ENTER
REBOOT
This should boot up your phone without any changes.

Factory reset after dirty flashing Oreo, now only boots into TWRP

So a while ago I had dirty flashed the Oreo update from this link: OREO open to give it a try and see if I could actually get away with a dirty installation. Phone was working ok but battery drain has been enormous, around 30-50% worse than with Android 7.1 especially on idle so I thought ok time to do a proper factory reset by wiping everything (Dalvik, cache, system).
Now, I selected Factory Reset from within the OS (not TWRP) but during the first reboot it booted into TWRP asking me for decryption password, I did a wipe so it forgot all about it but now it only boots into TWRP no matter if I do an Advanced Factory Reset wiping everything via TWRP's menu, phone starts, shows the LG logo for a couple of sec and then TWRP screen shows up.
I am thinking I should flash a stock Oreo recovery in order for the boot to the OS but not 100% sure if this will cause more trouble.

Flash the oreo update zip from westwood or zefie. You can find it in the rom and development section. Search for v20a

Thanks but being impatient, I tried flashing the stock recovery. This seemed to free the booting and reset process, phone showed the LG logo, then for 2 seconds "Deleting" then LG Logo again and I thought the factory reset was in progress. After like half an hour still stuck in LG logo I realized I've probably soft bricked it. Phone only starts and gets stuck in LG Logo. So I entered bootloader and re-flashed TWRP but unfortunately now I can't find a way to boot into recovery (the irony). Phone just starts and gets stuck in LG logo forever, only thing i can do is use Power+Vol down to reboot into bootloader but no way to boot into recovery or even shut it off. Any way to enter recovery at this state and flash the OREO zip?
I realize I should have just waited for instructions but coming from consecutive unlocked Nexus devices i thought the steps and processes would be similar...
Try to discharge the phone completely (to shut it off) and enter download mode (I don't know any other method to do it). With LG UP flash stock kdz from your model, if you search a bit you will find it. This should work. If it don't work I've seen a couple of posts with the same problem as yours, search for the solution there, but if you can enter download mode it should work LG UP.

Thanks for the quick reply. With a bit of Googling I found that you can use volume down to enter stock recovery. This confused me as when I did it I expected to see the TWRP welcome screen. Instead I saw the stock recovery screen which only gives you the option to do factory reset. I did it and then rebooted again into recovery and all of a sudden I saw the TWRP screen! I remember there is something weird with how TWRP sticks to the system or not, again very confusing compared to Nexus devices. Anyway, since I managed to enter Recovery I copied the OREO flashable zip to internal memory and flashed and phone booted fine, now I am waiting to set up a fresh 8.0 installation :good:
