Hey,
I was on CloudyRom, wanted to go back to Stock. Flashed stock (20h flashable) and it booted all fine. Downloaded supersu from playstore to get root and supersu wanted to go into TWRP. Stupidly enough I didn't think and obviously there is no TWRP in that stock that I flashed... All I get is this green robot "working" with a bar underneath. Can't get into download mode now.
Can anybody help?
Thanks!
edit: somehow the phone went into stock now... this can be deleted. thanks

offical twrp is not kk compatible yet. have a look at the official thread in the "original development" section.
you should be able to boot after pulling the battery. wait a few seconds before replacing it.
enter download mode and either flash cwm or try the twrp test version.
It is compatible now, you have to find the right file, it's just not on goo yet. Check the TWRP thread in Dev section. _ I am using it on KK now without issue.
Dear all, I recently tried rooting my device (i5905) and run into some trouble. Here is what I did:
1) I followed this guide a guide called how-to-root-galaxy-s4-using-twrp-method such that I now have a working TWRP installed.
2) When I rebooted I noticed the message "SuperSu has stopped". I found out that I was using an old version of SuperSu (0.99) and updated the version through the play store. After that I was able to open the App but it said that it wasn't set up correctly - I don't remember the exact message.
3) I closed SuperSu, downloaded the newest version from the web to my device and installed the zip file with TWRP. Unfortunately, this brought me back to the state where every time I want to start the App I get the error "Unfortunately, SuperSu has stopped".
4) Some people claimed that it could be a Knox issue, even though I never got any security warning, I decided to download a "Knox" remover script which I ran through TWRP. This removed Knox (it is no longer listed under Apps) but it does not stop the error message from SuperSu poping up.
5) I'm unable to update SuperSu because I'm already on the newest version and I can't remove it either.
Any ideas how I should progress?
Thank you very much!

Could you give a little bit more context on why I should try this and what it would fix? I'm new to this so I don't have a lot of knowledge.
Also couldn't that give me some problem because I already installed TWRP...
S4 have alot of updates NB3, NB4, NC1, NC2, elc...
Some of the updates lets the method you want to use useless
The touch philz custom recovery lets you root your device from recovery
You chould try it out

Okay so I would assume I just follow these instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39433857#post39433857
Then I ignore the fact that I already installed TWRP and just install it? And once I installed it, there will be an option to root without using SuperSu?
Thanks.
After going to recovery go to philz options > reroot
The system will be rooted
If you didnt find SuperSu after boot
Download it from google play

Sorry but I have trouble following the instructions. I downloaded Odin 309 and was able to put Philz Recovery on my phone. I restarted my phone and it seems like I'm unable to enter the recovery mode. I hold down all three keys (VolUp) and the blue font in the corner appears but after a few second the phone just shuts down. I'm still able to boot normal, just not into recovery mode. I thought it might be because of my low battery but even after charging (70%) the problem persists.
I also noted that it was hard to get into Download mode (needed 3 attempts). Maybe removing Knox caused some problems - although it should really affect this? Any ideas?

I did exactly that, somehow it worked after the 11th try - seriously. But thanks!!
I downloaded SuperSu from the play store. It now ask me to install the SU binary. Should I click "Normal" or "TWRP/CWM"?
Thanks once again!
Hit normal !!
So here's my little guide on returning your v410 to stock unrooted from kitkat.
First of all download the stock rooted rom by @timmytim
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g-p...-v410-onlykot49i-v4101d-4-4-2-rooted-t3040208
Next download the stock recovery img.

here's a link to an image I made before flashing twrp on my v410. I've restored it with dd and flashify and it works fine. https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B1l3W9XHAqEgX0ZCUWc1QTlfWjg/edit?usp=docslist_api

Have flashify installed
Busy box app by stericson installed, I have pro.
Boot into twrp
Flash stock rom. Do not wipe anything!!
Reboot
Wait for apps to optimize.
Upon reboot flash the stock recovery via flashify. Once succeeded just press the home button to exit out!!
Open busy box wait for it to load and choose uninstall, normal uninstall not smart.
Reboot
Upon reboot open up su. Do not update binary!!
Scroll through settings and tick Full Unroot, select yes and wait.
Once uninstalled it will exit out on it's own
Reboot
Download root checker and check, you should be unrooted and able to factory reset or whatever you choose.
You removed busy box so there should be no traces of root.
Has anyone tried this? I'm desperate to get back on stock OTA/unrooted, this tablet has just been too laggy for my liking on any custom ROM. I'm currently on CM nightlies, on LL.....
So this works fine, I said "screw it" last night and flashed it. I decided to keep root though......so I just went from CM Nightlies on LL....back to KK. Oh man I missed KK. :silly: :good:
Only thing is, I went into bootloop after flashing the ROM, so I booted into TWRP and did a full wipe (minus external SD), did a factory reset.....and flashed it again. Booted up fine, and with an hour I was getting a prompt for an OTA being available.
ok, i followed your guide here and several others on the interweb. I am stumped. I am trying to install the update, but when I do i get that updates are not for rooted devices.
I did do a full unroot via supersu and flashed the stock recovery. When I put it in download mode, it says that it is still rooted. What did I do wrong?
little background, this all started when i was stock rooted and running xposed and twrp, and accidentally allowed my kid to install an update with out looking and got stuck in a twrp bootloop. flashed test build and then I am here. Any help would be appreciated.
any updates?

ok so there is a zip for stock non testbuild. But how did the device pop up with a update wouldn't it not update if you had a custom recovery
so after downloading flashify and dl'ing team win recovery project to flash a sdk for xposed my phone said it had successfully installed the sdk my phone got stuck on the TWRP screen, i cannot go into samsungs default recovery mod by pressing down on the volume, power and home, every single time i do the phone will reboot but go back to the TWRP menu. Any and all help is appreciated
You can't go into default recovery you replaced it with twrp. For xposed I think you are supposed to install the app first, what happens if you just try and turn the phone on

1)Once you have installed TWRP it replaces android's stock recovery.
2)To get stock recovery back you have to flash whole firmware with odin (watch youtube videos on how to flash stock firmware with odin)

Thanks a ton bud. Currently downloading the stock, taking forever : , hopefully this works !
Heyy guys, this is my first time posting a new thread
Unfortunately, my phone is stuck in TWRP recovery. When it was still working I downloaded Flashify. I don't remember what but when it restarted the phone, it stayed in TWRP recovery and never went back to normal. I tried wiping my phone several times and still won't go back. Then I pressed the option Change or Repair System File or something like that. But I put the wrong option on that menu and now it is completely stuck on the TWRP startup screen , I can't enter TWRP at all.
I tried everything that I possibly could. I even tried flashing a different version of TWRP and Philz Touch but still didn't budge. If y'all have any possible solutions, please speak up. My phone has been like this for about 6 days :crying:
I'm downloading the stock firmware of my model SM-G928F (G928FXXSBPIB). That's the only thing that I think that could possibly make it work. Do y'all think the same or is there something else I could do?
Go in download mode and flash that stock firmware that you downloaded.

Ok so now if you want to root your phone. first install twrp and make sure oem is unlocked. Then when you boot into twrp make sure you dont select that option at the start otherwise you will keep booting into twrp continuously. Next flash cf auto root and then go back into twrp and enable that option that was disabled before you rooted your phone. You should be fully rooted with no errors.
