Hello dear developers of [ROM][14.AUG.2011] Ideos S7 Froyo Stable v1.2 - (Android 2.2.2)
2 days ago i just buy new Huawei S7 and i am reading forum more than 4hours.
My device:
Huawei S7 - Clasic NOT SLIM
Firmware version : 2.2.1
S7V100R001C68B111(Brazil Commex)
Lot of questions was answered but i still have some to ask:
1) Can i install this firmware on my device : [ROM][14.AUG.2011] Ideos S7 Froyo Stable v1.2 ???
2) Can i install any of original firmware`s :
S7V100R001C13B115 (Australian Telstra) thanks to goodoane
S7V100R001C57B113(Norway Telenor)
S7V100R001C68B111(Brazil Commex)
S7V100R001C63B110(Sweden Expert)
(or i have to install always some version as i have now) ?
3) I find out for make more internal storage i need to make one 1Gb ext3 partition on my internal storage.
Question about it is: Do i have to do it before i flash my device with new firmware or i have to do it after successful flash ?
one more Question regarding this is: What is better make ext3 on internal storage or in my 4Gb Micro SD Card?
Thanks to all developer`s doing our life better !!!!! REALY BIG THX !!!!!
Nobody skilled enough to answer ?
What i need to do with my new tables is make it somehow possible to expand internal memory because i have free 30MB and i cant install all stuff i want
I figure out i need to flash new ROM in my TABLET to fix this big android issue. (sorry for dam question , but i am very new in Android)
So is this right way how to make ROM working on very new TABLET with original ROM ? :
1) Wipe/Data Factory Reset
2) at FIRST i have to install (flash) : CWM-Install-Script-tri_zet.zip ?
3) After that i have to connect Tablet to my WIN_XP and with partition software resize my EXTERNAL (MICRO SD CARD 4GB) to 3GB FAT32 partition and one 1Gb ext2 partition?
4) To resized FAT32 partition copy your ROM file : Ideos_S7_Froyo-v1.3-EXT4-SA.zip
5) Than restart TABLET and hold volume DOWN button and jump in Clockwork xauBeta recovery which i flash in first step ?
6) Than flash my TABLET with your ROM : Ideos_S7_Froyo-v1.3-EXT4-SA.zip
7) After flash i have to do 2 restart of TABLET for working MARKET and so on ... ???
8) One more Question regarding this is: What is better make ext3 on internal storage or in my 4Gb Micro SD Card?
9) Do you know about any issue with your ROM and S7 - 105 TABLET version?
IS THIS FLASHING TUTORIAL CORRECT????
... after this flash i will never need to install AP2SD and move all instaled APPs on SD CARD? That ROM will do this automatically?
no more install AP2SD or MOVE2SD and use default installation on SD CARD?
Thanks for all your HELP i really appreciate it.
1) yes
2) i don't know.... but go for option 1
3) connect your device and mount you internal sdcard
then make a fat 32 primary partition (leave 1gb open)
then make the rest (1gb) ext4 partition PRIMARY
---------- Post added at 09:58 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:22 AM ----------
I wasn't finished yet and presed enter lol
1) yes
2) i don't know.... but go for option 1
3) a) first turn on your device and go to settings/applications/development/usb developmentmode
b) install drivers by running the upgrade.cmd file http://adf.ly/2Lmy8 ("Ideos S7 Froyo 1.3 Upgrade tools")
c) install clockworkmod recovery http://www.multiupload.com/6YNZ1GXHV1
d) connect your device and mount you internal sdcard
e) then make a fat 32 primary partition (for instance 7gb and leave 1gb open (8gb card)) (use EASEUS Partition Master 9.1.0 Home Edition on your pc)
f) then make the rest (1gb) ext4 partition PRIMARY (use EASEUS Partition Master 9.1.0 Home Edition on your pc)
g) unmount your sdcard and mount it again
h) now you have 7gb internal sdcard storage left
i) put the "Ideos_S7_Froyo-v1.3-EXT4-SA.zip" from the (http://adf.ly/2Lmy8 ("Ideos S7 Froyo 1.3 Upgrade tools")) folder into the internal sdcard
k) now turn off your device and hold the call+menu butten and press the power button at the same time. now you are in clockworkmod recovery.
l) go to "install zip from sdcard"/"choos zip from sdcard" and make shure the "ideos_S&_froyo-v1.3-ext4-SA.zip" is inside. don't run it but press two times the back button (yet) if the file is not there or you can not open the sdcard ... restart the device and go back to "d" or "i"
m) now follow the "README FIRST!!!.txt" file in the "Ideos S7 Froyo 1.3 Upgrade tools" folder. start at "-Wipe Data/Factory Reset"
I am now sitting in front of my HD2 for more than three hours and have watched several tutorials on how to get any android rom onto my HD2.
With MAGLDR I get the "123456 GO GO GO" - and then nothing happens
And before that there is a NAND KERNEL OPEN FAILED
Trying to get to the USB Mass Storage mode, Windows 7 (64) does not recognize the SD card. However, this shows then up in the USB eject menu (Eject MAGLDR)
With cLK I get some "flash_read_image: failed (511 errors) ERROR: Cannot read recovery_header" error
On my SD card, there is a ZIP file as downloaded "NexusHD2-IceCreamSandwich_Beta10.zip", formatted as FAT32.
Before, I flashed a stock WinMo 6.5, installed HSPL and a matching Radio one more time...
So no method works for me. Please help me.
1 - the mass storage in magldr doesn't work (for large files at least)
2 - you need to flash cwm with the correct partition layout after flashing magldr(or clk) and before flashing the rom.

i just recommend you to try flashing one more time from a scratch !!
install everything back to stock !! (install spl 1.42.0000 and stock rom)
reboot your device and start again !!
1) install hspl 2.08
2) install radio 2.15.50.14
3) do a task29
4) install magldr/clk (your choice)
5) flash recovery
now !!
insert your memory card in ur pc via a card reader only (dont use any mass storage or anything else !! use a good card reader only !! )
format it to fat32 with allocation size unit to 32kb !!
put the card into phone !!
boot up the device and make a partition 512mb ext -0mb swap !!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1013852
flash this rom!!
atleast for the start or any other rom of your choice !! !!
try booting up !!
may help !!
GOOD LUCK
i think your problem lies in the ext4 partition that you have to make.
Today i tried this ROM which works great.
First things first:
I have a EU HD2 too (512Mb)
with a 16Gb SD card
make sure you have HSPL 2.08 if not see this thread
What i did:
First download these:
-Notepad++ (if you don't have it)
-the ROM from the above link.
-MAGLDR 1.13 (but HD2 Toolkit takes care of this too )
-HD2 Toolkit (for various reasons including Task 29)
-i use 4EXT 2.2.7 by Dansta34 recovery instead of CWM, it's great and does EXT4 partitions
-i flashed 2.15.50.14 radio (but i think 2.14.50.04 is better, at least for me so i'm going to flash it back)
-Now i removed my SD card from the phone and format it in Windows as FAT32, no partitions just yet.
-Plugged the phone to my PC via USB
-Ran HD2 Toolkit and pressed the Task29 button (now your phone is wiped) while with the phone in bootloader (turn on while pressing the Volume down button)
-Use HD2 Toolkit to flash MAG Loader too, just press the button while in bootloader
-Now bring your phone in MAG Loader (turn on and keep the far right button/end call button pressed until the list appears on the screen) and choose USB Flasher (option 5)
-Go to the folder where you downloaded TBD Ext4 Recovery V2.2.7 ported & moded by Dansta34 and find the flash.cfg file.
-Open the file with Notepad++ and change it to look like this(if you are going to try the rom above):
misc ya 8M
recovery rrecov|ro|nospr filesize recovery_leo.img
boot yboot|ro 5M
system ya 220M
cache ya 5M
userdata ya|asize|hr allsize
-Save and close the file.
-Run DAF.exe from the same TBD Ext4 Recovery V2.2.7 ported & moded by Dansta34 folder to flash Recovery.
-When finished enter MAG Loader again and choose option 8 - AD Recovery by pressing the far left button/call button. wait for it to load.
-Choose from the recovery menu Advanced (scroll down with the Volume down button and confirm with the call button)
-Choose Partition SD Card, choose Remove all partitions and start from scratch
-Choose first SDEXT 1024, second SDEXT - skip, swap 128 and most important Choose EXT4 file system.
-Go back and choose File System Check, choose SDCARD and let it repair.
-Now you can remove your SD card and copy the ROM on your FAT32 partition (the largest one in case you run Linux on your PC).
-Let it copy and put the SD card in your phone.
-Boot in MAG Loader, choose AD Recovery and select install ROM from SDcard.
-When prompted choose the proper options (EU HD2, MAGLDR, etc.)
You should be good to go now, it's a great rom.
Let me know if everything is ok, eventually PM me.
Good luck
I think there's the problem. I don't have a microSD cardreader, I only can copy the file directly to the microSD via the USB cable.
Any suggestions for that?
Do you still have the microSD -> SD adapter?
If not, i'm afraid you'll have to find one or a microSD card reader if your planning on flashing a lot
That's the root of your problems too
Disregard everything, it works!
I just had to wait for clockwork approx. one hour until it loaded...
That's not good either..You really don't have to wait that long over anything.
Anyway, when you decide to start fresh, look over my post above, it'll help, took me weeks to understand some things and luckly the search function works.
Yeah, I'll give it a shot, thanks!
The wait is really bad...
I know exactly how you feel, I've been there.
i still don't know everything either but little by little, searching here and there and we'll make it

Hi Katalin,
Thanks for your post. I intend to use this ext4 partition next time when I''ll flash a new ROM. Tell me please is really good or is just a new thing and that's all?
Salutare
I read about it last night when trying the new NRG ROM since a lot of people were having problems with CWM.
Apparently we needed EXT4 file system partition and CWM does EXT3 only.
The only thing i don't like about it it's the background, i think the rest it's better especially the partitioning menu.
I have written a guide that might can simplimify things some for you.

I partitioned my SD in CWM and haven't experienced any problems (with Typhoon CM7) so I would guess you'll be fine

so if I do this:
2. PARTITION YOUR STORAGE CARD FOR A2SD ROMS (IF REQUIRED)
NOTE1: Setting up a partition on your Storage Card will allow A2SD compatable Roms to automatically install apps to this partition rather than using your phones internal memory. This is useful for people that have alot of apps to install and for people who want to flash a Sense Rom and wont have much internal memory left.
NOTE2: Once you create an A2SD partition on your Storage Card all information will be lost so make sure to backup everything to your pc so it can be copied back after. The accessible space on your Storage Card will be made smaller by the amount of the partition you set up so only make it as big as you need make it huge if you dont have many apps to install)
1. Boot into the Clockwork Mod menu
2. Go down to 'Advanced' and select (by pressing 'Call Button')
3. Select 'Partition SD Card'
4. Select Size of required partition not sure then 1024M is a good size)
5. Make ABSOLUTELY sure you want to continue and then select 0M Swap Size
Your Storage Card will now be partitioned with the size you selected.
ALL DATA ON YOUR STORAGE CARD WILL BE LOST!!
-------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------
3. FLASHING A CWM (CLOCKWORK MOD) ROM
1. Connect your phone to your pc via the USB Cable
2. In the Clockwork Mod main menu select 'wipe data/factory reset' and then 'Yes' on the next screen
3. When the data wipe is complete, select 'install zip from sd card' in the main menu
4. Go down to 'choose zip from sdcard' and select
5. Scroll down to your CWM Rom (which you should have copied to the Root of your Storage Card) and select it
6. Select 'Yes' from the options and wait until you get a message saying 'Install from sdcard complete'
Note: You can repeat steps 3-5 if you have more zips to install such as gps data or screen mods
7. Once finished press the 'Back' button to get to the previous menu screen
8. Select 'reboot system now' to restart your phone and your Android Rom should boot
9. Once Android has booted and you have gone through the setup screens, LONG PRESS the 'End' button and select reboot to reboot your phone to avoid possible FC (Force Close) problems
then should be my EXT3 partition working normally with this ROM ? And Im not gonna have any problem with insufficient internal memory ?

Yep First make a backup of your ROM in CWM, then copy the contents of your SD card to your PC. This is extremely important as partitioning WILL delete all SD contents. Copy the contents of the SD card back over and I think you would be fine as none of the internal stuff would be deleted. Boot up and see how it works. If everything is deleted, simply restore the backup and you're done

Version 1.3 still has a few bugs, you can read about them in the given topic. I'm testing this rom on Saturdays and until then I'm very satisfied

Im afraid that this instructions is working only with typhoon CM7 but not with NexusHD2-ICS-CM9. There is whole thread on how to run ext3 partition in this build but it is too complicated for me.
I just need simple instructions and active download links for programs I need to installation but I think I could just dream about it.
Typhoon CM7 clockwork recovery 3.0.2.5 150MB/5Mb download link is dead. 50 Percent of links on this forum are dead. I tried to download it by using google but it was futile.
Where could I get it ?
I have written a simple guide that may help you.

Any experience overcoming these ? I am really confused which ROM to go for.
I just found this website http://android.hd2roms.com/ having several ROM links.
Please suggest.

I dont know the Stock MIUI ROM but If everything is working and there is not any problem with internal memory then Im gonna try it
it is really hard to choose the suitable NAND ROM for HD2 because there is too wide selection so it is hard for newbie to pick one.
I had american android 2.3.7 SD and I liked it but problem was battery drain.

Stick to MIUI and CM7 ROMs in my opinion, Sense isn't fast (despite what people say, the Sense UI is a RAM hog and doesn't flow very well, even on the Desire S that my brother has) and these have no issues (camcorder on Sense is buggy). Battery drain will be far better on any NAND ROM compared to an SD ROM, and as long as you partition your SD card there won't be any issues with storage.

Dear All,
Many thanks for your links and suggestions.
This is what made me a happy man. May be it is useful for others.
1) Downgraded from HSPL 3.03 to HSPL 2.08 from HSLP4.exe
Step by Step Guide
Press volume down button (don’t let go) and power on your phone.
It will load into ‘Red, Green, Blue and White’ screen bootloader.
You can see your HTC HD2 SPL version there.
Connect USB cable from PC to phone.
Serial status will be turned into USB.
At PC, right click on HSPL4.exe and select ‘Run as administrator’.
Click ‘Yes’ if User Access Control prompt up.
Follow onscreen instructions to install.
Do make sure that you select 2.08.HSPL.
After installation, you should see ‘We hacked it!’ on your phone.
That’s all.
2) Download Leo_RADIO_2.15.50.14 from http://www.wupload.in/file/2649215467/Leo_RADIO_2.15.50.14.rar
and
Install RADIO from here http://android.dkszone.net/install-radio-rom-htc-hd2-flash-radio-rom
3) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044830
FLASH CLOCKWORK MOD TO YOUR DEVICE from Recovery_250M_system_10M_cache_v3.0.2.4_.zip
NOTE: There are 3 CWM images attached at the bottom of this thread. You only need to install 1 of the images depending on what type of Android Rom you want to flash. The larger the size of the CWM Partition the less space there will be left for programs installed to your phone.
150MB Partition - For lite Roms without Sense such as CM7. Gives most internal space on your phone for apps
250MB Partition - Standard size Roms or squashed Sense Roms
400MB Partition - Full Sense Roms. Hardly any internal space for apps. 512ROM Leo's will need A2SD external partition set up
If you arent sure which size you need then check the first few posts of the Rom you want to flash as it will usually tell you which size partition it needs.
1. Download the CWM Partition you require and extract it to a new folder on your pc
2. Connect your phone to your pc via the USB Cable
3. Restart your phone and HOLD DOWN the 'End Button' (far right) until the Magldr Menu appears
4. Keep pressing the 'Volume Down' button to goto Option 5. USB Flasher and press the 'Call Button' (far left) to select it
*The screen should now say Wait USB...USB*
5. Run DAF.exe (Right Click and Run As Administrator if you have Vista or Windows 7) in the folder you extracted the image to and follow the intructions on your pc to start flashing
6. After flashing the phone will reboot. HOLD DOWN the 'End Button' (far right) until the Magldr Menu appears
To start Clockwork Mod keep pressing the 'Volume Down' button to goto Option 8. AD Recovery and press the 'Call Button' (far left) to select it
NOTE: If the Rom demands a different size CWM then you can download any of the attached sizes, then extract the contents and edit the flash.cfg file with Notepad. Change the sizes on the following lines depending on what you need:
system ya ***M (partition size)
cache ya **M (cache size)
4) FLASHING A CWM (CLOCKWORK MOD) ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1354267
First NexusHD2-IceCreamSandwich_Beta10.zip
and then
NexusHD2-Kernel_2.6.32.15_tytung_ics_r1-MAGLDR-update.zip
NOTE: The first boot of your Rom will take alot longer than subsequent boots so leave it and give it time (15 minutes max)
IMPORTANT: If anything goes wrong, start fresh (DELETE EVERYTHING) from Wipe HTC HD2 Toolkit (HD2ToolKit4.2.0.1.zip)

There are few issues (faced till now) with NexusHD2-IceCreamSandwich_Beta10 (Android 4.0.3) ROM
- No Video
- No Signature feature in Exchange Mail
- Camera hangs
- Gallery hangs sometimes. -- Solved by installing Real Player and opening images from there.
- Backlight seems dim even when full brightness is selected.
- I could not find an option to disable vibration in keyboard. -- Solved by "Go Keyboard" from Market. So far it is working perfectly.
Other than these, I am in love with my HD2.
Please suggest if there are any solutions to these.

I do not use Google Maps. But I turned down for a while and act as they should.
As for the camera - the camera is working, but I have a problem with the video recording. However, this is the solution to the first page of ROM which I sent to you.
- FB - I read about this problem but to be honest, this synchronization is not necessary to me.
I did not use this site. I checked only the most popular threads on xda. And I also just looked Android 4.0
Regards
Hi all,
I just spent ages trying to figure out how to partition my SD card on HTC wildfire and configure it to have CyanogenMod 7.1.0.1.
WARNING, THIS TUTORIAL IS ASSUMING YOU ALREADY HAVE A ROOTED PHONE, DO NOT FOLLOW THIS TUTORIAL IF YOUR PHONE IS NOT ROOTED & S-OFF. - I CANNOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE IF YOUR PHONE GETS BRICKED, USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
WARNING, ALL DATA WILL BE LOST FROM BOTH SD CARD AND PHONE MEMORY - Backup all pictures / music by copying them to a folder on your computer.
Your apps will automatically be backed up (Providing you have updated your Android Market to Google Play)
Step 1 - Download these necessary files onto your desktop and put the first one onto the root of your micro sd card:
- http://download.cyanogenmod.com/torrents/update-cm-7.1.0.1-buzz-signed.zip.torrent
- http://cmw.22aaf3.com/gapps/gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip
Step 2 - Open Recovery Mode
- Hold down the power button and select reboot (if available) and then select recovery.
- If this does not show up, follow these steps below:
1. Turn your phone off.
2. Hold down the volume down button and the power button until the Revolutionary screen pops up.
3. Tap volume down once, (highlight the word recovery) and tap the power button.
Step 3 – Update The ClockworkMod Recovery.
- At the moment, you will have green text, and a black background. (This is version 2.5.0.1)
- This is the base version that your phone will run on, and does not support SD-ext for the HTC wildfire.
- Move your trackpad down so that you have "install zip from sdcard" highlighted. Tap the trackpad to select it.
- Now highlight and select "choose zip from sdcard"
- A list of files in your SD card will be shown.
- MAKE SURE THERE IS NOTHING HERE THAT YOU WISH TO KEEP OR HAVEN'T MADE A BACKUP OF.
- Highlight and select "recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.0-buzz.zip", which you saved to the root of your SD card.
- Confirm the install, and select "Yes - install recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.0-buzz.zip"
- A few lines of code will be shown, then everything will turn blue and the background will change.
- You now temporarily have ClockworkMod Recovery 5.0.2.0
Step 4 – Clear Everything
- Here is where you must have backed everything up.
- Select Mounts and storage.
- You will see the following (if some say unmounts instead of mount, make them say mount by selecting them):
- Mount /cache
- Mount /data
- Mount /system
- Mount /sd-ext
- Format /boot
- Format /cache
- Format /data
- Format /sdcard
- Format /system
- Format /sd-ext
- Mount USB storage
- format everything on the page, they should all work, but
- You will get an error on the sd-ext (this is meant to happen so don’t worry)
- Now go back (tap the power button) and select “wipe data/factory reset
- And finally select wipe cache partition
Step 5 – Partition the SD card
- Scroll down, and select “Advanced”
- Select “Partition SD Card
- Choose your Ext Size (I recommend choosing half of the storage space that your card is.
- For a 256mb card, select 128M
- For a 512mb card, select 256M
- For a 1gb card, select 512M
- For a 2gb card, select 1024M
- For a 4gb card, select 2048M
- For a 8gb card, select 4096M
- any memory card higher than this will not be partitioned, the phone will not be able to read it properly, but I would recommend an 8gb card, and if you have any smaller than 1gb, I wouldn’t even bother wasting your time – but go ahead if you wish.
- Now it will ask you what Swap size you want:
- If you have a 256mb or a 512mb card, select 0M.
- If you have a 1gb or a 2gb card, select 32M.
- If you have a 4gb or a 8gb card, select 64M.
- If it asks to confirm, select yes, now wait for a few minutes (grab a drink – you’ve earned it).
Step 6 - Preparing CyanogenMod 7.1.0.1
- Once you’ve partitioned your card, Tap Reboot Recovery in the Advanced Menu.
- You will be back to the normal green text and black background.
- Scroll down to “install zip from sdcard”
- Select “choose zip from sdcard” Now there’s nothing on your sd card. If this has happened, then you know your card has been successfully partitioned.
- Take out the battery of your phone, and then the memory card.
- Put the memory card in your computer (you should also notice that the size has halved)
- Put the other two files from your desktop onto the root of your micro SD card.
Step 7 - Installing CyanogenMod 7.1.0.1
- Put the sd card back in the phone, and turn the phone on normally.
- You will automatically be taken to Revolutionary because you’ve wiped the phone
- Open up ClockworkMod Recovery again (by pressing the down volume key once, followed by the power button)
- You will still have the green writing and the black background (v2.5.0.1)
- Select “install zip from sdcard”
- Select “choose zip from sdcard”
- Locate “update-cm-7.1.0.1-buzz-signed.zip” and install.
- [OPTIONAL – GOOGLE APPS]
- Select “install zip from sdcard”
- Select “choose zip from sdcard”
- Locate “gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip” and install
- Go back, and select “reboot system now”
- Startup will take a little bit longer than normal, don’t worry, this is normal.
- Login with your Google account and follow the Startup process like you did when you got the phone new. (or similar at least )
Step 8 - Get Your Apps Back
- On your computer, visit https://play.google.com/apps
- Select install on every app that you want that you’ve previously downloaded from the market.
Step 9 – Get Pictures / Music Back
- On your default home screen on your phone, Tap Menu / Settings / Storage / Unmount SD Card.
- Put the memory card in your computer
- Copy the files from the folder that you backed up earlier on onto the card.
- Put the memory card back in the phone.
Step 10 – Install S2E (simple2ext)
- Open up Google Play on your phone and search for S2E and install the first one that comes up.
- OR visit https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.krikun.s2e on your computer and install the app through there.
Step 11 – Configuring S2E (simple2ext)
- Once you have the app installed, open up S2E (Doesn’t matter if other apps are still installing / Downloading)
- check every single box on the main app page.
- If some items cannot be highlighted, don’t worry for the minute, just highlight what you can.
- Now press the menu button within the app, and select “Settings”
- Make “Advanced mode” be checked
- Make “Extended partitions info” be checked
- Make “Set read buffer” be checked (and set the buffer size to 2MB)
- DO NOT MOUNT AS EXT4 OR SELECT IMPORT – EVER!
- Press back, and then tap the menu button again.
- This time, select the reboot option.
- Once the phone has rebooted play a few apps, open the browser send a text, etc… (Do anything that will use memory on your phone – Facebook’s a good one)
- Now open up S2E again, and the options that were not available earlier are now available, select them, and reboot again from Menu / Reboot within the app.
- CONGRATULATIONS, YOU HAVE INSTALLED CYANOGENMOD 7.1.0.1 WITH AN SD-EXT.
If you ever want to see how much space you have left for apps, data, cache, etc… Download “FreeSpace” from Google Play - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.krikun.freespace
Hoped this helped guys,
I just feel this needs to be on the internet after the amount of time I spent fiddling with my phone, trying to figure this out.

Do you really need to have a partition of SD card to exactly half?
For instance 512M is enough for 8Gb card.....
Also a 16gb class 10 card gives no problems at all when partitioned.......

it is up to you how many free space you want
I have 8g card and always have a 256mb partition set. Never needed any more than that. I also use custom mtd along side with various sizes depending on rom.
using my thanks as likes
i ever tray, with the thread ROM rempuzzle and luck,, you thread very helfull if any pic,
thank you very much, it's helpful guide
Awesome...... Thank you very much. Instead of installing update-cm-7.1.0.1-buzz-signed.zip, I had used SplashMOD_v2.0-Final which installed really smoothly without any problem.
Excellent!!
Indeed this is a very good tutorial, very in depth and more importantly actually helps you get the job done
awesome tutorial buddy
Problem with partition: Solved
Just mentioning for anyone that has problems.
I could select only a few options is S2E and I could not use extended partition. I could not add apps to this or mount from recovery.
Actually I formatted it from recovery and then it worked. Sorry if it is a step of the installation procedure that I did not see.
How does this partition works? My data space is completely free... If I need an app to run even if I removed the SD card how do I install this to the app data?
I have to try his one out .. thanks

This not correct dude. size of 256/512 is nore than sufficient for wildfire.
I personally had 512/8gb but I had to format it to reduce it to 256.
Also the swap increases USB mount time very significantly. On cm9 I had to disable swap in order to mount it. Swap is not recommended for low end devices like htc buzz and I had read that it DAMAGES the SD card.
Plus swap enabled and disabled did not make a difference for me!
Last point:s2e is terribly slow. I recommend using cronmod script. It will mount SD EXT automatically at boot and ensure faster execution.
Sorry for bugging!
Also on step 6, where it says
"- Take out the battery of your phone, and then the memory card."
I think that there is a option to power off, not just shocking device in my opinion but ok...
I use link2sd which can show "storage use" ... no problems at all.
cm9
is this methode also helpfull on a cm9?
and does this patition works as internal memory
when some apps are moved to SD card, I always need to login again and again every time i start them up. (f.e. facebook, twitter, but also my agenda widget wouldn't work when moved. Will this solve the issue?
so I tried it with cm9. but there is something not working with s2e... I can't check any of the options in the main screen nor is there is an option "advanced" in the settings.
what did i do wrong?
in the log list of s2e i find the following:
Initialization...
Ext partition found: /dev/block/mmcblk0p2
Use built-in tune2fs
Use built-in e2fsck
Setup read_ahead value
/dev/block/mmcblk0p2 not mounted... Exit!

So this is the step where all doesn't go according to plan.
so I succesfully partitioned my sd. installed cm and installed s2e from your link.
but s2e doesn't work as described. In the main screen , there are no boxes to mark. also no option to reboot in the application. nor is there an advanced section in the settings.
is this an other application nowadays? or did I do something wrong? in my previous post I put the log I find in s2e after starting?
could someone help?
Odp: How to use a sd-ext on HTC Buzz (Wildfire)
s2e won't work with ics ); install darktremor script instead. then run it in terminal emulator and ur apps will be on sd ext.

Hello
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2126053&page=1 I i tried setup that rom on my hd2 but i have problem. First I setup magldr and i did 384mb recovery. After I partioned my sd card with mini tool partition wizard. 32kb cluster with 6,5gb fat32 and 1gb default cluster ext 4. I coppied rom file on my sd card and i entered to ad recorvery>choose zip from sd card and on that page sd card size looks 6593mb but sd ext size is -1. What's wrong and how I fix it? And i didn't see anywhere on topic but did I need use 4extrecorvery etc. another file on sd card? I use only task29 magldr, 384mb recorvery. Sorry for my bad english but i hope you understand me. Thanks all.
Did you set both partitions as Primary when creating them?

Recovery or system? System should be 384. Recovery should be 6mb for ext4recovery, 8mb for TWRP (which I recommend).

You can also use TWRP Extended. It should be better choice than ext4recovery.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2120297
Do you plan to use only Android or dual boot with WM6.5/WP7?
If you're going android only way you may try also CLK instead of MAGLDR - it makes repartitioning NAND easier
Using this file you will get flashable img file (just put in in you sd card and hold vol- during powering) with CLK and TWRP Extendend.

Good!
Now, you are in TWRP menu.
1) First, go to reboot (TWRP is touch based) and select bootloader. Phone will reboot to bootloader (clk).
2) Select (navigate via vol+ and vol-, enter the menu by pressing "green" phone) SETTINGS, than RESIZE PARTITION
3) Select SYSTEM and set size to 390.
4) Go back using back arrow button, select COMMIT CHANGES and APPLY
5) Press back arrow button to return to menu and select RECOVERY
Now, you are properly partitioned and back in recovery (TWRP).
6) Go to ADVANCED -> PARTITION SD CARD. Check your partitions. First one (SD card) should be VFAT. Second one is SD-Ext. Check SD-Ext size. Should read: 1024 MB or something similar If it is so, click arrow in lower left corner of screen. No you are back on home screen.
7) Select INSTALL. In file manager select zip file with rom you want to install. Installer will start. elect DATA ON EXT type of install (should be best choice for you). Remember to select PPP type of connection if asked.
8) When installer will finish, reboot. Your phone should boot straight to android.
