FaceUnlock & SmartScroll Missing in Lollipop? - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I wonder why people are no discussing that Google has taken off these two useful features from Lollipop update?
Is it only me or everyone who updated their phones to lollipop don't have these features on their phones?

It is Samsung fault, not Google

@daemon21 wonder why they did this. Is there any hope for these features comming back to note 3 in further updates

AOSP Lollipop 5.0 on Z3, Z2 & Z1 by Sony

Hi everybody!
I have just find out this article from Sony blog:
http://developer.sonymobile.com/2014/11/06/android-5-0-xperia-z3-running-aosp/
So I think I will get Lollipop in our Z1 very soon.
See you!
AOSP is fine but not from sony
I like camera in my z1
Yep can't wait for the new 5.0 custom roms to roll in. At least sony has now officially supported the modding community.
a good ROM?Thanks
I use my camera far too much to support being a beta tester in the various 5.0 ROMs rolling out in Original thread..
I can live without mobile data since I'm in a WiFi zone almost exclusively, but no camera? no dice..
I too love aosp, even on kitkat. But I really hope they have fix camera issues. That would be awesome!
Yeah i could try livin without modem since there is citywide wlan available but without camera ?! no way!

[Q] AOSP on the Note - what are the roadblocks?

Hi,
Could anyone explain why we don't yet have an AOSP ROM for the Note?
I'm looking forward to getting rid of TouchWiz and I'm curious what the challenges are that prevent developers from just compiling the AOSP code to run on the Note 4.
I'm coming from a lot of Nexus devices so I'm not familiar with the roadblocks in developing ROMs for Samsung devices.
You know only samsung can make feature for s pen and other stuff. If this is a normal phone, that would be easy to make a AOSP rom lollipop like my old galaxy tab 10.1 with 3 year old.
But, this is note with only samsung can create stuff for us. So keep calm and wait

I'm not particularly interested in using the S-Pen or all the other Samsung stuff, I just want a replacement for my Nexus 4 that has better specs. All that other stuff can come later or not at all really.
Thanks Batfink33 for the good news, really looking forward to some AOSP or CM goodness

New here.

Hey guys,
I finally bought my first phone with my allowance. i'm in college so this really helps me a lot. I bought xperia z1 c6903. My classmates said that it would be really nice if i root my phone because they also root theirs. It is in kitkat 4.4.4 version. Can someone please post on a tread here where i can root my phone and use the latest lollipop update on my phone.
dont be so lazy and search the forums
Why do you want to run Lollipop on your phone?
Unless you have a very good reason I would patiently wait for the official firmware release.
Newest is not always best, Lollipop has it's issues, battery life being a big one. Despite initial claims to improve battery life it's far far worse. Xposed framework does now work with Lollipop but it's in it's very early development phase. Plus other niggly things like no silent mode short cut make it a less attractive option at present.
But if you want to cripple a perfectly decent phone with an experimental rom that has all above issues and probably breaks the features that make Sony phones unique then head to the development section.

Marshmallow ?

Will there be a official release for android Marshmallow for TN7 ?
Are you sure you want one?
I suppose it would be nice to get something beyond the slightly glitchy 5.1 they released. But 6.0 isn't exactly bug free.
Would be happy if they release a patch for glitchy 5.1. Sent several tweets to nvidia, tegra and someother regarding this. Lets hope for the best.
The Shield Portable people are stuck with a poor Lollipop build too. I think NV is done supporting the Tegra 4 hardware.
They are having enough trouble making MM work properly on the Shield Tablet. The first release had lots of problems. Last week they pushed another update but then pulled it because it was breaking wifi for many people. Ugly stuff. But other people claim it is solid. So who knows. Heh.
Don't know about the official builds but shaky is already working on a custom marshmellow
No developer interested in this device?
I am a noob, but would have loved to see marshmallow or nougat on this device.
