Hahahaha ok. Well it was not able to go to download mode because it was stuck in recovery mode. A battery pull out and then down+home+power button did the trick to go to download mode. After that he flashed the stock rom again

[Q] Hard bricked Nexus 4 last night..

A quick explanation of my stupidity, I unlock and load customer iOS builds on iPhones all the time. I decided to take on the task of loading a customer rom on my Nexus 4 for the first time thinking, "how much harder can it be!". I wanted to put Xylon onto my device. After getting into restore mode and wiping doing the factory reset command, the phone shut off. It will not turn on at all. I've tried hard resetting the device and get nothing. When plugged into my computer, I can see it recognizes it as a driverless Qualcomm USB device so I know the phone is on, it just shows absolutely nothing on screen. How can I get this back up and running? Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Boot into bootloader and see if you can get fastboot to connect. If you can, it's fixable. Just flash the stock images until you work up the nerve to try again.

A round of applause for this guy.
You managed to brick your Nexus. Did you fastboot flash the wrong IMG to the bootloader or what? Tell us what you did so no one else does it.
Edit: I forgot to mention that I'm sorry for your loss.
I'd recommend letting it charge for a few hours, then try fastboot again.

Everything was going smoothly. Got to the customer loader which is where I did the factory reset and then went to select the image I wanted and realized I didn't put it in the phones directory. I went to the menu and hit "restart" and that was the last breath of my Nexus
Did you by chance flash xylon for nexus 7 by mistake as I believe that will brick your nexus 4 faster than crap thru a goose.

Um, no. It's done. No bootloader = No way to recover. Unless I'm missing something. Anybody?
Also, Samsung uses Odin.

Only Samsung phones have Odin. LG does have a "download" mode' but I haven't seen the utility for it.
Currently I haven't read of anyone recovering from a N7 ROM or kernel flash.

I don't think there is any way for them to check if it doesn't turn on. There have been a few others who have done the same thing and gotten an RMA form Google with no problems. I did it with an Incredible from Verizon about 2 years ago with no problems after bricking it trying to unlock the bootloader.
Just wanted to post a reply to my incident. Google replaced the device and there was no charge. Thank you all for your help

check this thread out. I had the same thing.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
this reverts you completely back to stock. You will lose all your data but you did back up regularly, right?
(edit) you only have to hold the volume UP key while plugging in the USB on a D801 to get into download mode.
Make sure you've disconnected usb when attempting to enter recovery. Hope the silence means you've sorted it out!

If you're trying to unpack the ROM try redownloading the rom.
You're saying that you have CM installed? I had this exact problem and I had PA installed.. it was a mess. I had to sideload the original ROM because to flash with that program your build.prop has to be the original information when you received the phone or else the program will throw a "different phone model"
Do you have the LG usb drivers? Install all proper USB drivers and try to sideload an original ROM.
BTW do you have any backups? Restoring also gets you out of this mess
never mind i opened the wrong folder thanks for everything guys it worked perfectly ^.^

In case you don't know, you can supposedly get rid of it by displaying an all-white screen (with display brightness turned down to preserve bulb life).

spontaneous boot loop?

my rooted G2 with stock 4.2 suddenly quit accepting a charge and appears to be caught in a boot loop. when I have it in via usb to my laptop it (laptop) responds by recognizing 12 different devices while saying they they all need to be reformatted. when I unplug the device they go away on the laptop. when I hold power (device) the LG logo will appear then quickly disappear leaving only the very dim backlight as proof that it isn't completely dead. any ideas? thank you
one more thing, the fiddling I have been doing is xposed modules. the last one I think I activated was xblast tools (very cool sh*t by the way).
You need to flash the xposed disable zip that's automatically put on the root of the storage directory. The latest module or change you added is most likely the cause. After flashing the zip, you'll need to reinstall xposed. Remember to disable the module that caused the bootloop.

Do one thing flash the .tot file for your phone if you can get to download mod, it should bring it back to factory defaults but it will format your sdcard as well so all personal data will be gone.

When you plug it into your computer do you see a yellowed out device in Windows device manager?
If so try this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48361867&postcount=68
or alternately, install the pdanet drivers.
If you can then get adb access to your device there are several paths you could take.
I used this thread (I had recovery but not twrp), as it's the least destructive - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451696
If you can't get adb access with either single sooner or pdanet drivers, you may have to resort to this..

[Q] NOTE3 Power button/ Lock screen problem.

I recently rooted my note3 and installed xpose framework and other tweaks. i later realised that my power button cant lock and put my device into my lock screen.
the power button still works for everything else and i have a software button to bring it to the lock screen which i made using the "greenify app".
whats causing this and is there any fix? or any ways to put the device into safe mode ans see if this is caused by some faulty tweak? bug?
Summary:
"Power button works for everything except putting the phone to lockscreen/screen blackout"
Basic solution is to go to security and check "power button instantly locks" something like that.

Factory reset will delete all data photos, music, vids, contact and messages etc. If you've backed up everything then you are good to go for factory reset and will welcome you back to fresh out of the box phone. And no soft brick can occur by doing this.

Did you ask in the carbon thread?
Chances are it was a wipe issue.
Did you wipe in stock or aosp recovery?
You can always get back to stock by flashing the stock firmware.
I did this via booting twrp then flashing to both slots.
So unlock storage in twrp, then go flash the ROM, reboot recovery and it'll change slot.
Then flash it again.
Then reboot
Should boot
If not boot to recovery again (not twrp) and wipe system and data.
Should work then..
I didn't have that issue when carbon myself
If push comes to shove there's a tool to get back to stock @meffles has suggested it a few times but I've not used it myself, although he has and he swears by it.
Probably a good way to go and won't be hard.

Don't you connect in EDL mode?
Think it's like a lower level recovery mode that you get to without having the cable connected. The screen will be blank..
Then connect and if should show..

Turn your phone off, and make sure you don't have any cables connected. Hold volume up + volume down for 20 seconds, then plug in the usbc cable whilst still holding the volume buttons. You should see it spring into life. If not, then you need to check your drivers, which is covered in the link I provided you with.
I've taken it to a shop for repair
