[Q] A500 glitching issues - Acer Iconia A500

Hello,
My Acer A500 has a weird glitch recently. It is not rooted and with this glitch I cannot root it either...
Every time I go into apps the screen starts to flicker. It does not do this on the main screen or during the boot up. Only in the apps screen and it will not load any apps. Also it starts flickering when you go back out to the main screen. Sometimes it'll completely freeze and become unresponsive... I've reset it numerous times but still no luck. I cannot root it because it'll freeze within just a few minutes of being on. Should I be looking into a new motherboard for the A500??? Please help!!!

Consistent Rebooting - Text Related?

Guys,
I'm pulling my hair out over this. My MDA Vario has often rebooted itself and i've always put it down to a glitch of one form or another, but today it has been rebooting every few minutes.
Each time it reboots a text message i've read reappears as NEW, as though the phone doesn't register me reading it before it crashes and reboots. If I delete this and other messages, within minutes once it's crashed and rebooted they will all return like a CACHED memory or something.
I don't know what to do.
It seems as soon as my screen dims on power save, it won't come back on and within a few seconds the screen goes white as it is rebooting.
Sometimes reading this message or doing anything in the message application causes the crash, sometimes it's happenign even without me doing anything.
HOWEVER - once i've turned off the power saver dimming the screen, no reboot is occuring. I've gone into the messages, read and deleted this message among others, and no reboot. If I manually turn the screen off though, within a few seconds it reboots.
What is going on ?!
i have the same exact problem! I changed the battery the day before yesterday and it has not done it since, but im not sure if it solved the problem as sometimes it does not restart in one whole day!

HTC P3600i Freezing Problem

Hi Guys,
I'm new here, but have been following and reading these forums for quite some time now. Great Stuff!
anyhow, my problem, recently purchased a HTC P3600i PRO. Put a custom ROM on it, seemed to be running great over the last few weeks, but my problem is this. Now and then my phone pda will lock up and I'm forced to reset it. What happens is, I am still unsure as to why this happens, but lately it's started freezing up, and when I click on my start button, it shows my menu, and then when I click programs, it shows as "empty" when I know there's nothing empty, it's filled with stuff, randomly this happens to my settings window as well. Basically stuff randomly dissapears from my start menu, shortly after, 5 to 10 seconds, it locks up. The next thing I do or click on after seeing things disappearing from my menu, it freezes. I then have to do a soft reset, and after doing a soft reset, it's as if it's done a hard reset and wants me to re-configure the time, click on all 4 corners, etc.. I use have to use SPB Backup to do a full restore of my phone/settings/contacts/software etc..
Can anyone help?
Also, just to update.. I restored my phone with a backup today, and it seems to be running well again for some strange reason. Is it because it's overheating? getting hot or what? I'm not sure what it's doing. Please help
Figured it out
My backlight whilst on battery was set to brightest. figured it was overheating as it felt warm too.. I turned it right down to 3 bars from lowest, and it's fine now
Guess it my screen and battery were getting quite hot and the CPU was overheating. All resolved.
I got a HTC p3600 for about 10 months. i used to have the backlight set to minimum.
now i update my rom and it got crashes so often, almost every day, and I need soft restart the device all the time when get crash.
The worse, sometime my display picture just broken + crash, and I need more than once to restart the pda. When I restart the device sometime the display just turn black color moving from top to bottom, or sometime with colourfull dots on screen, and the device does not want to be restart.
In that case i take the battery to turn off the device.
Sometimes i need to wait some minutes until i can restart normally the system.
It usually crashes when it is connected to the computer via usb (charging the battery) and i need to use it. (i check and it is very hot)
Also, when i use wifi it tends to crash (very hot too)
Since i upgrade the rom my backlight settings are set higher...i reduce the backlight, to reduce heat and test the system stability, but i really think it is crashing due to overheating.

TF101 screen does not respond to touch - Freezes

Hi All,
Very strange issues with my TF101 for last couple or 3 weeks (I think). The screen does not register a touch event, some times it does and others not. Strangest thing is, everything else seems to work, clock, wifi, etc, I can power it down and start again. Sometime it rotates the screen too and other times even screen rotation doesn't happen. If I move around the tablet, shake it etc, then sometime it seems to work for few clicks and then same unresponsive screen.
I have wiped all data, factory reset couple of times but no luck.
kernel:2.6.39.4
build:IML74k.US_epad-9.2.1.27-20120615
Touch Panel Ver:MXT-1.1 build-1
Android:4.0.3
Can some one please advise?
I'm having the same problem.

Seems like my issue is resolved by
Hi,
It seems like my issue is resolved by installing a custom ROM, what I did after all my frustration is went to
http://get.cm/?device=tf101&type=stable
Downloaded the stable version of Cyanogen Mod 9, copied it to my TF101 while its connected to my pc, you can follow instruction here
http://www.androidauthority.com/cyanogenmod-9-cm9-for-wifi-asus-eee-pad-transformer-57846/
And now I have it running only for 30 mins or so but it seems like no freezing...
HTH
Not quite, it seems like after several hours of usage, though it is working immensely better then before, that painful freeze has come back of sorts, it does freeze now, very few times as compare to prior to installing cyanogen mod 9
Same here. I was tired of running Jelly Bean so I decided to give stable CM9 a spin so I flashed it. The screen is so unresponsive it's not even funny. I think I will file a bug at CM issue tracker if that's not only me experiencing that. I have also noticed that scrolling screens using a live wallpaper is not smooth, however this is an entirely different issue.

Certain area in screen not responsive

Hi.
I'm using the device for a month now and today a weird thing started to happen. There's a certain area in the screen that's just not responsive.
I haven't dropped the phone ever and I'm not rooted. It happened while I was customizing my homescreen with Nova Launcher.
I've tried a factory reset, I have also pushed the power button for 10 sec.. Nothing helped. The first occurrence of this was that my screen was completely unresponsive, I rebooted and then only the certain area was unresponsive.
Thanks in advance.
Best to request a RMA from Google.
The thing is that it worked perfectly until now. Also, sometimes it works for couple of minutes, then it becomes completely unresponsive, and when I lock->unlock then the certain area is unresponsive.
update
You have a faulty device, you are going to have to do a RMA.
Are you using touch control or similar sweep2wake apps with a custom kernel?
If that's the case you should delete it.
How come it hasn't happened until now? I am not using any custom kernel and I have done factory reset so there aren't any apps on the device.
UPDATE: *Sometimes* when I touch the "dead" area and it works, the whole screen becomes unresponsive immediately. What could have happened?

HELP: screen problems during boot and lock screen

My Note 3 has occasional problems during boot and consistent problems during lock screen.
Occasionally during boot instead of seeing the Samsung logo during startup the screen becomes pixellated and unchanging - i.e. a bunch of random pixels. The phone continues to boot up otherwise and the OS works. To buy-pass the boot problem I need to take the battery out of the phone for about 2 minutes (or more) and it would normally boot fine after that. When it boots up I often see a part of the screen momentarily go pixellated before it starts the usual boot loop.
When the devices boots up fine lock screen has problems. When I turn on lock screen the screen remains black thereafter and soon reboots.
I have SM-N9005 with LineageOS 18.1 +microG + Magisk. I don't think the problem is due to LOS because boot problems existed in the previous OS (Android 5), and lock screen problems occasionally came up. I hoped installing LOS will sort out the problems, but alas... I have tried using an app called Wakelock v3 to sort out the screen lock problems in the same way as for Note 4, but the app seems to have made no difference. Since installing LOS I have not had a single successful lock screen, with or without the app.
Any help or advice appreciated.
