For some reason the video mode is zoomed in, a lot, compared to the regular camera. Does anyone know how to fix this? It's very annoying.
This only started after the ICS update, before that there was a zoom slider, now its gone, and its stuck on zoomed in.
I've always seen it zoomed in since Honeycomb. I don't like it either.

It 's very bad , the camera has a very small viewing angle and it seems to me that it is much better and much higher angle shot of the Samsung Galaxy Note phone , who knows maybe some updates and a fix if possible ?
Let's take a break from all the lag threads (p.s. Not a bit of lag on my phone) and talk about the Orb feature that was all over tech blogs in February but disappeared now!
I was really looking forward to not have to load the 4.2 camera to take "Photosphere" pictures!
And with the locked bootloader I can't flash the 4.2 camera now anyway. Am I missing it or what?
Sent from my Galaxy S 4!
I don't know about the orb, but you can get the 4.2 camera even with a lined boot loader. Grab the 4.2 camera and use root explorer to drop it into system/apps.

Saw this today when reading about the Note 3, and remembered your post.
"SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 3 S ORB
The Note 3 is rumoured to be the first Samsung phone to have the S Orb panoramic photo feature. This is Samsung's version of Google's new Photo Sphere feature, which lets you take multiple photos in a 360-degree arc around you, and stitch the results up into a Google Street View-style collage to upload to Google+."
Hey guys,
This is a real quick video comparison between the Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S6.
The settings used in this video were AUTO mode with Flash off and AUTO HDR turned on. Everything else was the same.
Enjoy.

I am frankly astounded by how alike these photos are. Viewing on the N7, and maybe the differences will be more obvious on the PC

I know what you mean, but i'd say in all instances, I'd give the edge to the s6. In a couple of photos the difference is huge though - the one of the leaves for example.
Watched it on my TV, and really could tell the differences. Not subtle at all in most of the shots! I've been watching as many of these as possible to justify jumping from the S5!
With good light, the differences are subtle to non-existent. I've been taking absolutely great pictures with my S5 all year long -- with good light. Start taking the light away and the difference between the two phones is substantial. If you look at my S5 album, probably 80% are taken outdoors. I'm sure that number will go down when I get the S6.
Videos? Fuggedaboutit. I only really take slowmo on my S5.
At: https://developers.google.com/cardboard/android/release-notes
I found this in a recent update:
>Cardboard SDK for Android v0.5.7
> Improved drift correction so that the head tracking is stable even on phones with low quality sensors.
I assume this is why stock, unrooted Alcatel 5.5 inch Idol 3 no longer jitters.
Has anyone tried any other phones which had shaky Cardboard displays?
How about the 2nd generation Moto G?

Thanks for reply. But Same shaky/jittery feelings on other apps too.
Sensor Kinetics app
Install this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.innoventions.sensorkinetics
to find out what sensors the phone has and how they perform.
See:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/ido...ard-vr-apps-dont-jitter-t3305010/post65066897
for an example screenshot. Note that the graph is showing all 3 axes, roll, pitch and yaw.
Post your own screenshots here so we can compare behavior of sensors.
This: https://goo.gl/maps/RHyhKhQjLYP2 is SO bad. Pixelated, out of focus, even in great lightning (bright but soft). This was done with the standard google Streetview app. When I tried the common google Camera app which makes photospheres, the results were probably even worse https://goo.gl/maps/m5A7rbMES4v.
Both apps were at their most recent version at the time of shooting, I am running stock Nougat with the update . It also happened on 6.0 which came out of the box, but it was not so prominent so I didn't care about it much.
Anyone might have an idea what to do?
Thanks
