[Q] SM-G900T or SM-G900M - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi forum, in first place, im so sorry about mi english, but im from uruguay, so my native language is spanish, but i will try to explain as best as possible.
Here we go. I have buyed about 1 year ago a Samsung Galaxy SV (SM-G900M). Then, some months after purchasing the smartphone, I have been flashed an XtreStoLite ROM V 1.3.
The matter is that the smartphone changed its model or version after flashing. Changed to SM-G900T.
Now, I would like to flash the XtreStoLite ROM V 2.0.1a, and I hope you guys can help me to know what Bootloader & Modem package should use to proceed with the upgrade.
From now, thankyou very much, and I hope you understand my english version.. haha

Your device name changed in "About Device" because of the ROM you have installed. But your device still is, and always will be a SM-G900M. So you need to flash Bootloader and Modem for G900M.
I'm also using XtreStoLite ROM V 2.0.1a on mi SM-G900M from México :good: and my device named changed too after installing this ROM, if you want to set your device name back to SM-G900M just edit the build.prop file in /system (This is what I did, and now it shows SM-G900M)

Are the custom ROMs made for the international S5 g900f compatible with the chinese s5 g9006v? The only difference as far as I know is the difference in LTE bands and the lack of google play.

I have not heard of anyone doing it, but, but suppose it wouldn't really hurt to try if you had a nandroid backup ready incase of problems...
I agree that it is different in those regards and those only from all that I've read. There is a thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2738617 that someone made that links to how to custom recovery (in chinese sadly), how to root it, and I personally after rooting/recovery was able to flash gapps 4.4.2 on it and it worked just fine for me. I still want a custom english based ROM that will have gapps fully default installed and all the samsung stuff working, basically a GPE version ROM with all the samsung crap that gives it all the nice features that default android doesn't have.
Now, with all that said, I have seen a TON of people showing different versions compatible with the 900F version and never once seen the 9006V listed as one of those...
Oh me, oh my, the more I (try) to learn, the more confused I become.
The stock ROM from sammobile doesn't include Google apps?

They most certainly do not. I just didn't know if that meant stock sammobile ROM wouldn't have them.
So then, I guess the solution is to flash a stock KitKat ROM on the phone (I assume those do exist)?

Sammobile chinese stock rom doesn't have gapps because it is exactly the same as the rom on the phones. i believe it is pulled from OTA or KIES.
and there are stock kitkat roms available now in the original android development section, but there are bugs and not suited as a daily driver IMO. also not sure if it supports the chinese model
hope
lidroid has made couple of custom roms for g9006v model but they are not in english yet. As i know lidroid first make them in chinese then it is translated to english. And he made a perfect working custom rom for g9006v. I think english rom will be available soon. I also have been looking for a rom. But now i at least tried the root the phone. I am going to wait for a custom rom unfortunately.

Hi,
LIDROID is a good rom custom for the SM-9006V Samsung Galaxy S5. I had trouble to get it, because it's a chinese rom but with multi language and root version. English and other european langage are included. Playstore is inculded also.
It's call Lidroid 4-4-2 v1.2.
At the first time, I used VROOT to instal the root, I tried 3 times, but Vroot pass it. After I have installed a cwrm with odin v3.10 and the rom custom without problem.
It's on a xda forum that I heard about Lidroid rom v1.0 and now a v1.2 exist. But it's very long to donwload it from chinese country, and to find the good buton to click, I give you my file :
Lidroid 4-4-2 v1.2 :

Hello
when you install the lidroid Rom, in the aroma installer you are asked to choose the csc, there are three choices: english, chinese and a third in the middle, i don't remember the exact name: choose this one, it's working great for me (3g, 4g and french language...). Hope this helps.

Man I need that firmware and the only way to install it is using twrp-3.0.2-1. First I need to backup using twrp and then restore with the same twrp skipping md5 verification. thats the only way. I really need this firmware, you think you can back it up and upload it. This is urgent!

Help : All Chinese written - rooted Note 3

Hello everybody,
I have been given a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N900) bought in Hong Kong.
It already has a custom rom (Android 4.4.2) but the Android system is 100% Chinese. And the recovery "CWM - based recovery 6.0.4.8" is also in Chinese...
I don't know where to start to get a custom rom with English language.
Should I first try to change the recovery of my phone to an English written one ?
System info:
SM-N900
Android 4.4.2
N900XXUDNA1
N900ZSUDNB4 by tuifei.NO.5
Ok !
So I managed to change the recovery to an English written one.
I used Odin and got the good for my phone recovery file (.tar).
I think with an English written recovery it should be pretty easy now to change rom.

[Q] S3 Neo reverting to stock ROM problem

Hello there, I flashed my S3 Neo with an unofficial ROM so I could see how good is Lolipop 5.0, but I didn't like it so much, so I wanted to revert back to my stock ROM which is Android 4.4.2. My question is, does the Baseband version matters? My phone baseband version is I9301IXXUANI2 but when I went to the Samsung Updates site where I could find my ROM, there was only I9301IXXUANI1 versions, no I9301IXXUANI2. If I try to use that version from the site, would my phone get bricked?
Sorry for my bad english.
no it doesn't matter !
at least from what i know !
i did installed different baseband version to my phone and nothing happened everything works fine !
just be sure its for ur phone which is i9301i !
good luck

Nothing is matter. Baseband or region has no impact. That's what i know. Go to sammobile.com and download any baseband version firmware and flash it through odin. Just remember one thing that firmware should be for your exact model.
Thanks all for your help

You are welcome. And may be your service providers have some restrictions so try to download a firmware for your country or which is for your neighbour countries. And there will be no problems. I am not from Europe and i have tried firmwares of European countries.
Thanks all for your help, but is there any alternative of samsung-updates .com ? Their download links are the worse thing I ever seen in my life, I takes me 4h to download at a limited speed and the download failed once.

Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE Modem Baseband flash with Odin

Hello guys,
I am verry sorry to bother you with this, but I am just to dumb for this part.
I am quite familiar with the whole custom rom business but I try to fix my mothers phone where I installed a Cyanogenmod custom rom (12.1) some time ago.
She experiences some mobile network issues which, I guess, are related to a old baseband / modem version causing troubles.
Can you tell me which version is the right one to flash via Odin or preferably via twrp?
I plan on updating it before installing the lastest 12.1 CM snapshot.
I believe she has the Samsung Galaxy S4 I9505 International with LTE and Snapdragon processor.
Under baseband version ("About the phone") it says I9505XXUEML6.
(I dont know if this is correct I can remember that I once installed a Google Play Edition Rom to get rid of the bloatware).
The phone was bought in Germany.
I know that you guys are probably busy with more important stuff but I'd really appreciate it if you could quickly help me with that.
Have a great day.
Thank you in advance.
Update: I got the files, changed the cable Odin passed but no version change!
Update 2:
Manually going into fastboot instead of using the reboot menu did it! Thank you so much. (Maybe add that info to the guide to avoid similar problems with othe people)
Thumbs up & good night!
