S5 Chinese g9006v - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Are the custom ROMs made for the international S5 g900f compatible with the chinese s5 g9006v? The only difference as far as I know is the difference in LTE bands and the lack of google play.

I have not heard of anyone doing it, but, but suppose it wouldn't really hurt to try if you had a nandroid backup ready incase of problems...
I agree that it is different in those regards and those only from all that I've read. There is a thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2738617 that someone made that links to how to custom recovery (in chinese sadly), how to root it, and I personally after rooting/recovery was able to flash gapps 4.4.2 on it and it worked just fine for me. I still want a custom english based ROM that will have gapps fully default installed and all the samsung stuff working, basically a GPE version ROM with all the samsung crap that gives it all the nice features that default android doesn't have.
Now, with all that said, I have seen a TON of people showing different versions compatible with the 900F version and never once seen the 9006V listed as one of those...

Oh me, oh my, the more I (try) to learn, the more confused I become.
The stock ROM from sammobile doesn't include Google apps?

They most certainly do not. I just didn't know if that meant stock sammobile ROM wouldn't have them.
So then, I guess the solution is to flash a stock KitKat ROM on the phone (I assume those do exist)?

Sammobile chinese stock rom doesn't have gapps because it is exactly the same as the rom on the phones. i believe it is pulled from OTA or KIES.
and there are stock kitkat roms available now in the original android development section, but there are bugs and not suited as a daily driver IMO. also not sure if it supports the chinese model

lidroid has made couple of custom roms for g9006v model but they are not in english yet. As i know lidroid first make them in chinese then it is translated to english. And he made a perfect working custom rom for g9006v. I think english rom will be available soon. I also have been looking for a rom. But now i at least tried the root the phone. I am going to wait for a custom rom unfortunately.

Hi,
LIDROID is a good rom custom for the SM-9006V Samsung Galaxy S5. I had trouble to get it, because it's a chinese rom but with multi language and root version. English and other european langage are included. Playstore is inculded also.
It's call Lidroid 4-4-2 v1.2.
At the first time, I used VROOT to instal the root, I tried 3 times, but Vroot pass it. After I have installed a cwrm with odin v3.10 and the rom custom without problem.
It's on a xda forum that I heard about Lidroid rom v1.0 and now a v1.2 exist. But it's very long to donwload it from chinese country, and to find the good buton to click, I give you my file :

Hello
when you install the lidroid Rom, in the aroma installer you are asked to choose the csc, there are three choices: english, chinese and a third in the middle, i don't remember the exact name: choose this one, it's working great for me (3g, 4g and french language...). Hope this helps.

Man I need that firmware and the only way to install it is using twrp-3.0.2-1. First I need to backup using twrp and then restore with the same twrp skipping md5 verification. thats the only way. I really need this firmware, you think you can back it up and upload it. This is urgent!

Ask the developer of the custom rom about languages first before installing.
use gennext kitkate rom it come with different languages when you install with cwm/twrp/other custom recovery it will ask for select your language for installation but before installing custom rom first backup of your current rom using above mention recovery

note 3 n9006 help

Please help me
I bought a Samsung galaxy note 3 n9006 factory and had all the languages, among them the serbian. Then sm do a complete wipe and format internal memory and tried to install MIUI rom and not liked. After that, I took off all ROMs with SamMobile and all ROMs have only Chinese and English.
Whether you can help to you in my n9006 throw in other languages as English a little bit?
The problem I and Tastura because it has a toolbar that can not take off.
Do pos Toji some official ROM that has the possibility to choose a larger number of languages, not only Chinese and English, and how they can take off the toolbar with the keyboard?
Thank you in advance!
Flash the firmware that you had on originally .
Then you did not have a official FW on it. SM-N9006 is a chinese Note 3 version ONLY. Did you make a backup? *alreadyknowingtheanswer*
Probably somebody in Serbia in some way put the Serbian language in my note 3 before I bought it, although in addition to the Serbian language was still a lot of language in the list. Unfortunately I'm not the ropes that first backup software because it never occurred to me to look at whether there is an international search for software that in itself has a whole suite of language.
I've found csc package in zip format, which should be flashin of recovery, but unfortunately not a factory recovery, but not TWRP Recovery 3.0.0 can not install it.
So now I have this problem and I see that nobody has a solution for it

Plug the USB debagging
Go to Settings » About phone » and tap “Build number” seven times to enable “Developer options”.
Go back to main Settings page, scroll to bottom and select “Developer options” from there.
Under Developer options, look for “USB debugging” checkbox/toggle and make sure you Check it or turn it ON.
After rigid install Recover twrp-2.8.7.0-hlte-4.4 with odin

What custom ROM for SM-910S with Exynos5433?

I just bought a Samsung Note 4 SM-N910S. I thought is with Snapdragon, but CPU-Z says it's with Exynos5433. Which custom ROM should I use and what recovery mode?
I've searched for Samsung drivers, but couldn't find any that work.
Android version is 6.01.

Well, my hopes that 910C ROMs will work with 910S Exynos variant were shattered. So, I'm back to stock ROM 6.0.1. I will root it and remove KNOX (I don't care about warranty anyway) and try to remove as much bloatware as possible. I wish I knew how to build a custom ROM...
I've installed 6.0.1 using Odin 3.x. Next comes root!
I wish there was a custom ROM for SM-N910S...
The ROM from SK Telekom sux!!! I've rooted the phone and tried to remove all the bloatware, but I was unsuccessful, resulting into unusable ROM.
I've found a tutorial to install a debloated stock ROM from SM-N910C based on android 5.1.1 which is a much better option than the original ROM. Not to mention the permission levels for 6.0.1 are messed up really bad, imho.

Just a friendly reminder : make a full backup before installing any ROM.
I think.....if you have modem file of 910S, you can try to flash custom ROM for 910C/H and the flashed your modem, and maybe it will work.
I'm on 910H, and that is the trick that we use to flash 910C ROM.
but please explore xda some more, maybe someone already tried it and succeed/failed.
@cacingbesar: I don't care about backups on phones, because I don't have any important data on them. The only thing I backup is the contact list.
Moving on with my saga...
I was thinking that maybe there's a way of converting my SM-N910S to SM-N910C, because at HW they are basically the same so I've started searching the net and found an interesting video on youtube on an indian guy who did just that on 5.1.1.
So, I followed his tutorial and installed his ROM which is debloated, de-knoxed and rooted which I very much prefer over the crappy SK ROM.
I've learned the trick of this is to use SM-N910C ROM, but flash the modem from SM-N910S. I wish I knew how to extract the modem from the stock SM-N910S and to inject it into custom ROMs.
Even though SM-N910S and SM-N910C are HW identical, a custom ROM made for SM-N910C doesn't work on SM-N910S. Why is that? I have no idea...

No....I'm not worrying your data, I worry that you lost your efs/imei, that would cost you dearly.
I'm using CWM as recovery and I don't think it's messing up with EFS/IMEI, nor does Odin3 as long as I don't tick the boxes I don't need.

Problem rooting G710

Hey guys, can you help me? I'm having a big trouble with my Grand 2
(Sorry for my crappy English, Spanish is my first language, so I can't speak English very well)
Here's the problem: I recently got a Grand 2 G710 (Single SIM), it's a cool phone but I want to root it, install a Custom Recovery and flash it a custom ROM, but since I was looking for the files for my phone, I discovered something weird, the codename for the Single SIM variant is "ms013g" but in my phone appears as "ms013gss" and to be honest, I didn't try to root it because two reasons:
1) The CF flashable zip file is supposed to be used on a phone with KitKat firmware, but mine is on Jelly Bean and I can't update it because this is the latest update released by the carrier and when I try to update it via OTA, it says the latest update is installed.
2) I can't find a root method for the JB firmware
Also, I'm checking the latest ROMS Released for the Grand 2, but mostly of the custom ROMS are for the G7102, I don't know if there's ROMS for the G710 or you can use the same ROMS for the G7102, so please, if there's someone who can help me with this, I would be very thankful for your help, I know some things about flashing ROMS on Samsung devices, so you can skip the basic things.
I attached some screenshots of some information from my phone which it would be helpful.
Thanks in advance

Ill help you with some research more ROMs for youre G710
Commonly grand2 devices are sm g7102 so its really hard when you dont have the model. Also im gonna research root methods for youre phone, its the most important common thing you need.

Update: Since youre in grand 2 and you have custom recovery installed. Try downloading the supersu zip file from the chainfire website (it has updates so check the latest one), go to custom recovery, flash the zip file like you flashed the roms and youre done.

SM-N910W8 to SM-N910F possible ?

Hello
My Galaxy Note 4 is SM-N910W8 (canadian)
I heard that N910w8 and N910F have same hardware, thats why N910w8 can be flashed to N910F right ?
Will be there any problems ?
What do you think guys?
Why I want to flash it to N910F ?
because the N910w8 have only a few system languages, what I need is a russian langue and I know the N910F has it

You can only flash custom rom from n910f with datafix and custom kernel supported for your model in order to do this you have to root your device and it will trigger knox 0×1.
If you flash through odin n910f firmware it will fail because models are different.
Maybe there is a way to only add a Russian language pack for the system ?
The version I have is 6.0.1

No you cannot add languages that easy there is lot of work to do.
If you have rooted phone with xposed framework installed you can Try "language enabler" module from xposed downloads maybe it will work.
Or you can try any N910F rom with datafix and kernel for your model it will work very well with all languages supported.
I am running dr.ketan m6 s7edge rom on N910T T- mobile note 4 with datafix and kernel and it has all the languages.
Yes , the device is rooted and I tried the app Language Enabler, and it didn't worked, it seems like I just don't have the languages pre installed.
If the only way is to flash for a n910F + datafix
Can you please give me an advice which ROM to download? There are a lot, Dr ketans seems to be nice.
But I'm.not sure which one is good for me.
I use a lot the S Pen , and the applications for the S Pen are very useful for me.
Thanks

Dr ketan m6 s7 port and m12 note 7 port are best it depends which 1 you like note 7 or s7 look they both support s.pen and all languages but fingerprint reader on lockscreen will not work.
In download section you will find a datafix file for all models.
Thank you very much, you helped me a lot ! Have a good day!

So have you got some flashing done and working on your W8? I also try to get Dr.Ketan M12 on my W8 but constant bootloops after clean flashing, TWRP 3.1, flashinf ROM then applying fix and H-Vitamin kernel...no luck for me!
flash the N910W8 kernel here:
