So,i have a SGS3 - Neo GT-1901l and since i had it,it worked perfectly without issues.
A month ago (i think) i flashed via oding SuperSU and TWRP Recovery. After that i installed CM12 (Made a nandbackup though ofc)
It worked perfectly till i noticed that once the battery reaches 50/40 or 30%,it starts to drain VERY VERRRY fast and it also randomly starts to draw some white lines on my screen and then it shuts down even if the battery isnt at 1% yet.I can only reboot then if i plug in the charger.I installed my Nandbackup again to get my default rom again and to check if i still have the issue, and yes,i do still have this issue : C
I always have the phone on the lowest brightness setting, flymode enabled,no bluetooth and no GPS enabled. Can somebody please help me?
If you want informations about the kernel, the build number and etc, just say it in a comment,i will post a screen then.

Dear Friends,
I'm having a rare problem with my S4.
All used to be fine but now suddenly the device turns itself off when it's stressed. By stressed I mean during a call while switching to another application or watching a video for more than a few minutes. To me it seems like a battery broken because once I unplug the AC cable and run the benchmark the phone shuts off and usually when it gets to the GPU/Video related tests. When I plug in the AC cable and run the test everything works as usual.
Also when the phone has turned off randomly the phone has problems booting up. It will get to the omega boot animation restart again. The intervals are always different. Sometimes the logo spins for a few seconds and then it reboots again, sometimes it happens right away when the logo appears. Its almost that the phone does not have enough juice to boot up eventhough the battery is charged with 40% or so.
Once I plug in the AC cable the phone boots up normally. I doubt that it's the custom Rom (Omega 9.0 with stock omega kernel) that is causing the problem. It seems hardware related. I'm guessing:
- GPU
- Battery
What do you think is causing those random turn-offs ?
Should I exchange the battery or flash stock rom to check if it still happens?
Why does it make a difference if the AC cable is plugged in? can it be anything that is not battery related?
I'd love to have your opinions!
Best,
Thomas

Your using XXUBMGA right? I had this weird problem where the screen wouldnt turn back on unless i pulled the battery. I switched to the german firmware and all is fine. Its not hardware, trust me, same prob.
First go to stock rom mate, then check

Weird thing is i was using stock, even though exxi is using a modified rom it might not play nice with root/custom kernels. Dont know for sure though; just what i have observed directly.
Friends,
I've installed the Pre-Rooted Stock Rom UBMGA via Odin. Cleaned the phone completely. It booted up and during the first Sign up process (google account, wifi network setup etc.) it went off again with 80% charge. When I plug it to the charger I can continue the setup normally. It seems that whenver it starts any GPU related process (Video animation, Antutu menchmark, Quadrant, Games) it turns off without warning. I ordered a new bat. hopefully it will arrive next week but until then I will not know if the issue is battery or phone related. at this point I doubt that it's ROM related. What's your judgement on this?
Best,
Thomas

Any news? I've had Omega v7 and like two weeks ago it started to turn off suddenly... I thought battery run of or something, later on when this turn off happened and I turned phone on I had "black screen of death" or what to call it.. no launcher but status bar was ok, when I dragged status bar down I could open settings and change "homescreen" to basic and than back to normal and it worked...but... I couldn't use home button, it just showed black window that disappeared immediately. I backed up data and flashed Omega v11, after "tutorial" just after choosing language it showed this black screen again, so I've begun being suspicious it's hardware related. Morning after that it was working okey. Well...not really.. in app list one page of app was showing shadows of icons instead of icons, when i scrolled trough all pages it fixed. Later that day it turned off again. No turning off omega symbol, just.. like if you pull out battery. And those shadow icons were on two app pages. I've flashed nandroid backup of original ROM and when I browse gallery fast it turn off again... I suppose it's hardware related as it's not stuck to specific ROM. Maybe wrong battery? but more like motherboard I think. It also broke my sd card, because of multiple power failures probably. Also after this turn off battery drops down for like 10% or more. First screenshot - shadow icons..second screenshot - battery % drop

i have the same problem with one of the last stock release, in last 2 days my phone's system was totaly burnt because i've played a lot with roms kernels and tweak, and it started to give me also this kind of problem. So i flash by odin one of last stock firmware and it's ok, after a few minutes i've rooted again the rom and charged phone from 19% (at this percentage the phone turn off) to 100%. it seems to be okay, but at 63% it turn off again, so i pull out battery for some minutes, and after it continues to turn of after a few seconds...
(one of the tweak that i made was using "battery calibration" it clean battery stas that can be damaged by skipping between various rom, i used it a lot on galaxy nexus but maby this can be one of/the reason of problem)
Have u resolved by changing the battery???
Dear folks,
It's a battery related problem. When I changed the battery for a mumbi type new battery the phone works with no turning off. Problem resolved

Hello to all!
Since I don't have honor to post on main development page I need to post here in question!
I can't find nowhere something about battery life, I installed without problem ROM on my SIV and battery life is very poor. Yesterday I watched on YouTube MKBHD Hangout with Motorola CEO Dennis Woodside which have length of 39 minutes I think. My battery was at star 98% and at the time of ending video vas 45%. Battery can't last full day of normal usage. (it last from 07:00 to 18:00). At beginning I noticed this problem and I installed One Power Guard and its always on powersave or standby mode.
This anyone facing with this problem?
Yes mine is exactly the same. Running v4.0 and battery life is terrible now. Camera app force closes every now and then and sometimes maybe twice a week it reboots.
Plus I can't charge it switched off - everytime I plug it in it starts up.
Hi,
My battery is a little poor too, but it was because I was with my cellphone screen on almost the whole day... When it was an extreme case (when I was in 4.3 AOSP ROM and it didn't last even some hours, like you), I recalibrated it (I used to do it with my Xoom and X10 Mini Pro, it may be a placebo, but looks like it worked...
To recalibrate simply let your battery run completely out, then plug to the charger and let it charger completely while turned off (the white battery icon appears), then turn it on and let it run out again, then charge fully again. Remember that plugging and unplugging your device from the charger is bad for your battery, and remember to keep the screen brightness very low, turn off WiFi, Bluetooth and SPECIALLY 3G when you're not using.
Hope this helps,
~Lord

You need to flash v.6.0 which mostly correct FC camera app. I notec when i was runinng on ART reboots was more common.
My solution was to flash MK9 stock rom, this is the most stable and reliably by me so far.
and hanress

Thank you for advice. I was using battery calibration on my Galaxy SI GT-i9000 and Xperia X8 and it was uselles. Know i didn't se enyware that i need to recalibrate battery so i didnt do that.
Howdy, everyone!
I have a problem with my G935F: the battery percentage stays stuck while the device is on, it gets updated on reboot but then won't change. If I connect the phone to the charger the icon in the status bar reflects that but the charge level still won't update until the next reboot.
Battery life is great and charging while the phone is off shows the correct percentage throughout, which makes me believe this is not a problem with the battery.
The phone is rooted and I'm on stock 6.0.1. I've already tried multiple full wipes and flashing several versions of the stock rom (including Nougat) but the problem persists. I've also tried clearing the cache and the dalvik cache to no avail.
Do you have any ideas about what the problem might be or what steps I may take to try and fix it? I'd like to rule out all possibilities before dishing out €50 to have the battery replaced!
Maybe you have an app that's interfering with the reported battery level. Does the battery indicator update properly when you boot the phone into safe mode?
Unfortunately, no.
No ideas?
Unfortunately the battery level is still incorrect even when the phone is booted in Safe Mode. However it is correct when the phone is charged while turned off and the battery life is normal, which makes me believe it's not a hardware problem...
Hey guys sorry to bump old thread , but found this thread and its good to not always make new threads Well, i also suffer some heating issues but recently my battery percentage stuck at 82% while i was charging with hotspot active , i dont know why it got stuck , but when i replugged the jack in usb port , it continues but after sometime stucks again at 84% , i cleared cache partition but its still the same. But if i turn off the phone and charge, it will proceed to 100% , so the only changes that i made in system are enabling developer options and installing nova launcher and xwidgets app , phone is not rooted and completely stock. Any hints guys ?
Hello guys, I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (N910u) , I reset it a week ago and I am starting to have issues. The phone will not charger more than 70% (fast charger connected) even after 2 hours of uninterrupted charging. When I turn off the phone and charge it still shows 70% but when I remove the battery and plug it in again then the phone shows 100% charged and I am good for another day until this problems repeats. Please help if this is a hardware issue or an issue with software or battery calibration and suggest any methods to resolve it.
Used to happend to me also, but my problem was an kernel issue... So all I did was flashed a different kernel... Also I'm using custom rom btw

Step 1: Buy a new battery (Anker, PowerBear, or genuine Samsung direct from Samsung or carrier)
Step 2: If problem persists, come back and ask again
when you flashed a different kernel the problem sloved or no

hi my friend
when you flashed a different kernel the problem sloved or no
and what the best kernel i can flash it to slove this problem
thanks alot
I'm on nemesis 3.7 rom with H-vitamin 2 kernel
You didn't answer the whole questIon, Dorian...did it fix the issue?
Yes I already stated that it fixed my issue in first post
thanks alot my friend
iam install the Kernel you say it and my battery now perfect
Nemesisroms 3.7 fails
I installed that rom but I have had problems.
1. I can not calibrate the fingerprint lock I tried it a thousand times and I finish the steps and when I try it does not work.
2. 3 days ago the phone when I will use it after the inactivity of the night the lock screen turns on but does not recognize the touch. Step to remove the battery and to place it and to turn it on it works well.:Rodar los ojos
I don't think nemesis refined is meant for ur phone model... You could try a different rom that is for N910u, I'm using a N910h... So two different models.... You could also try a new battery and see if problem goes away
Can one of these extended battery kernels be flashed with a stock ROM? My phone is really turning into a laggy POS, I wanna do a custom ROM that's faster and minimalized but I'm worried what ROM can be flashed with what kernel since I haven't felt the need to flash or bake my own ROM in like 3 years since getting my first Note 2...this 4 is a step forwards and backwards.
Hey,
yes i know: another battery thread. But tbh i havn't seen a thread with a similar problem description so far. Im using a Note 3 SM-9005
After my Note3 got super slow with normal samsung rom, i decided to flash it and install LineageOS 14.X. It works amazing! Feelt like a super new phone to me. Just some problems with rotation but i could life with that. One year later my battery started to drain faster. But a while after that i could fully charge my phone, watch some YT videos (like 20min overall) and then the phone just goes off. Its super hot near camera (processor i guess?) after turning it on again it was at 1%. 1 Month ago i tried to finaly fix it by flashing to LineageOS 15.X (Android 8.1) but the problem is still the same. And now its not just videos, if the phone screen is on for more then 20min it will turn off (even if it says 50%)
But not enough.
- After shutting down automaticly, it start itself again and shutdown again and so on. Until i plugin a charger then it stops doing it (or if i remove the battery).
- If im just listining to music it works fine (no screen on time), but while listining music in freezes for 1 up to 3 seccends (on avg every 10s one "freeze")
- It can happen after 5min of usage after charging it to 100% or i can listin to music for over 70min, than can have it in my pocket for 9 hrs, can hear music again for 70min and it still works (all of that with less to none SOT)
I havnt tried so much tbh, cuz i always thought it is a battery problem. But the new battery I got 2 days ago still has the exact same problem. I've read something about save mode and I booted it in save mode and the phone didnt get hot (not even warm!) with 20min SOT browsing (had no time to test it more). But the only apps that I have installed are Spotify, Firefox, WhatsApp and the Blizzard Auth.
Now i tested using a calibrate battery app (my phone isnt rooted but the app said it worked) and now im charging it up to 100% again to test it. But I dont think it worked.
Anyone here with more ideas I could try?
One full wipe and install stock rom .
Charge battery and test over two weeks .
Calibration app NO thats fake it does not and cannot calibrate a battery ( see multiple posts )
Its just the usual battery question and a search answers your question .
How long have you been using that battery? Get a new battery and your problem is solved.
I had similar problems with battery charging to 100% and suddenly going down to 50% and suddenly switching off. Changed battery and all was well again.

I just bought a new battery. TBH it defenetly cant be a good one for that cheap price. But I just flashed back to Stock Rom. With the old battery same problem, but with the new one it works good so far. nearly all bugs that came up the last few month are gone. While setting it up, the phone got really hot (it had to work pritty hard i guess to update everything). This is why JJEgan mentioned to use it for atleast a week i guess.
But an important question: is it possible to flash back to a new version again after like a week? Or am i now forced to use this stone age version of Android. (I guess all samsung apps can be removed if i decied to root the phone)
