Hello, so i have a i9505 with the uk 5.0 official rom and i have this problem in YouTube. When I'm playing a video and i drag it in the corner and begin scrolling through the list of videos it begins to sutter(usually with hd videos), but the video itself plays fine. Now i found 2 sort of solutions for this, first is to disable hardware overlays from developer options but i consumes more battery. Now the second one involves going into safe mode, where everything works fine, so I'm guessing and app is responsible but i still not found it yet. I hope anyone who experiences this issue finds this helpful and let me know if you have any other tips.

Hi XDA,
First, my setup:

WanamLite XXUEMK8 V3.4 Android JB 4.3 Xposed - Adam Kernal 3.5
Using GEL as a Launcher and disabled KNOX warnings through Wannam Xposed

Ok now to the issue. Is it only me or is it an issue for everybody that when you're in Youtube App v5.3.24 and you're watching a video and suddenly you "minimize it" to continue scrolling different videos or doing several other options, the video window minimize animation is PLAIN BLACK. I mean, if you hold your phone vertically (portrait) you can see the video playing without a bug, then you slide the video down "minimizing it" and while you're doing that, the video window is plain black until you reach the end of the animation in which the video window displays the video again. Do you suffer from the same?
I didn't noticed until I was messing around with a Nexus 5 from a friend of mine and noticed how smooth everything was there, and youtube was smoother than my S4 (which should at least be on the same level as the N5) and during the whole minimizing animation the video was visible in the video window.
Is there something to fix it?
Everything else works fine on my phone but that really bugs me.
Thanks for your help guys!
P.S. You can see that in the pic attached. There was a video running while I was doing that...
FYI
Just for you guys to know. I tried this also on a stock S4 i9500 running android 4.2.2 and the problem was still there, so I think it's either Samsung or Google incompatibility what's causing this graphical bug.
I also had the same problem with my galaxy S II, and I've also seen it on the galaxy S III (JB), galaxy note 10.1 (JB) and the Motorola Xoom (ICS), all with stock roms. I thought it was an issue with touchwiz until I saw it on the Xoom. It was fixed for me when I installed a custom 4.4 rom on my SII, but I still don't know what causes it :/
Im also suffer from this issue with my I9500 any solution ?
Hi, ever since I got my G928T I've been having an extremely strange problem where video and audio will not play (regardless of source). This means nothing out of the speakers , and in the case of YouTube, the video being frozen on the first frame.
I've done a factory firmware reset through Kies, and am now rooted running the new custom kernel released a few days ago. I also converted /system, /data, and /cache to f2fs.
However, regardless of what I do, the problem persists.
The only way I've been able to do anything about this problem is by placing a phone call and then ending it. I have no idea why, but this will always fix the audio and sometimes the video for a short period of time.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening? The times when the phone call doesn't fix it are extremely annoying; I practically run my life on my phone and the inability to play media isn't a good thing.
Thanks!
A little more detail with the calling: every single time I want to play a different YouTube video, I have to open the dialer, place a call, and go back to YouTube for the video go begin playback.
Does anyone have any ideas? I'm still trying to find a solutuon!
I dont know i mean trying to find the answer does anyone know this plz give the answer ok
Furthermore, this issue isn't solely audio and video, it's every single sound throughout the OS (including keyboard clicks and tap sounds).
Very odd, I really don't know what to do :/
MAY HAVE FOUND A FIX!! I disabled AdaptSound and SoundAlive with Titanium Backup and I've yet to experience any issues.
This may be what we need!
Let me know if it works for you guys!
I also installed Viper4Audio, and used force enable for the super high audio quality driver.
EDIT: Does not seem to always work; instances of failure have still ocurred
They do, however, seem to be somewhat less frequent...
Good luck everyone!
So a bit more info: ever since installing Viper and disabling said apps via Titanium Backup, I find that most of the time I simply need to press the lock button when the song audio/video isn't working and that'll fix it. I have no idea why turning the screen off would make the phone to play the sound, but that's where I'm at now..
Hi there, I'm currently using a OnePlus2 with Android version 5.1.1 and OxygenOS version 2.2.1.
The problem I'm facing is that my facebook app is not displaying videos in HD mode even after I click on the HD button provided in the player. I remember correctly that this was not the case around 2 months back and whenever I hit the HD button the video would pause, change its resolution and then continue playing. I also cannot recall if I've made any changes or upgrades to my ROM as my phone is rooted and the last update I received was OTA around a month and a half back.
Just to to be clear, I like my multimedia in HD as I'm quite a fanatic of picture quality and sound
This problem was annoying me for quite sometime now but I kept on ignoring it as videos being played on other apps like twitter, youtube or even from my phone memory were working just fine and displayed in full HD quality. I thought maybe the videos I'm playing on Facebook were uploaded low res until yesterday when I saw the same video on my wife's phone which played in HD.
I've been searching for a solution for 5 days now and seems like google doesn't even have an answer to it or may be I'm the first with such a problem. Anyways, desperately looking forward to a response.
Thanks!
Ruhayl
Facing Same problem in my Le 1s
I am also facing same problem in my LeECO le 1s mobile, tried multiple fixes but didn't work. Also, Its not easily available on online forums as a known issue. I tried cleaning everything related to the fb app from the storage which seemed to work temporarily but it started again. let me know if you come across any permanent working solution.
The offical facebook app is sh*t.
It uses alot of battery, ram and cpu.
Use an alternative app like: Folio, Swipe for Facebook or Facebook Lite.
Hello everyone, I want to share with you a problem that I met with my S8 since I have it (<1 week).
Everything works fine except when the screen shows a video, whatever it's on YouTube, FB, Twitter, or even integrated videos on other apps, on the screen appears some randomly placed lines of pixel that are not refreshing, like a lag, and generally it makes the phone crash and reboot.
This problem is kind of random also, maybe 80% of the time.
Also this problem doesn't occurs when watching GIF or playing games
From my point of view, I have no clue if the issue is software or hardware.
For now all I tried is :
- Factory reset from the recovery
- Factory reset from Odin
- Safe mod boot (and it is still doing the same problem)
- Installed Android 8.0 beta
- tried to modify the animations on the development mode
- modified the screen resolution
And nothing is working. For now I didn't wanted to root it and install a custom ROM, because I don't know if it will change anything.
Anyway if you have an idea what it could be I would be really thankful. Also I heard that some had an issue with random reboots, but i've never seen a post mentioning this issue.
My s8 is a SM-G950F
Did you find any solution?
Wondering if anyone is having the same problem I am with the OnePlus 6T or has suggestions to fix it. When I try to play videos I downloaded through Amazon Prime for offline viewing, the sound only comes through in extremely short stutters or not at all. If I stream it works as expected. Already reinstalled Prime Video, tried all the download quality options, and no change. Downloaded and streaming video from Netflix works fine. Guessing codec issues or sound settings but haven't found a solution thus far.
Anyone else run into this?
Did you root O6t ?
I saw on one of the post that, there's some issue with Amazon & netflix videos after root.

Are you on the T-Mobile version? The latest OS update pushed out a few days ago broke Play Store certification for many people. That can cause issues with apps that use DRM, like Netflix and I guess maybe Amazon Prime Video. If this is the case, clearing data/storage on the Play Store fixes it. Source.
ETA: Just noticed the timestamp on the OP, doh. Oh well, leaving my post up in case anyone else having this problem more recently comes here looking for answers.
